Wow great interview! Had no idea Uncle Rick was a fan of selling puts and calls. Buffett sells puts as well. Power of compounding! I wish I could sell options on GLNCY
@@theROIpodcast that's great insights. One concept/strategy that has started to stick with me is to generate income with options and dividends on unloved hated assets until they became loved and mainstream again. Once they are mainstream, let them ride and sell them for capital appreciation. A lot easier than done though lol. For example coal and BTU is hated right now. It's got great options liquidity and has a dividend. Just a thought. Not sure if you have a similar strategy.
@@theROIpodcast Great insight thanks for sharing. Yeah sounds like a large portion of Rick's portfolio is in high quality majors like WPM generating income with selling options and dividends. I heard a lot of cash and the rest is 75% income portfolio and 25% speculations. One idea that comes to mind is to generate income on hated assets and then when they breakout and become loved and overvalued sell them for capital appreciation. Much easier said then done. For example coal is hated right now and a company like BTU has a dividend and a liquid options market.
I owned Chalice and, in what I thought a Buffet-esque move, sold it for a 30% profit. I believe it went up another 700%. Likewise, I sold Filo Mining for a small profit and likewise it went up 700%. Still haven't got the hang of this investing lark.
just don't sell your entire position. take some profits whenever it starts getting suspiciously volatile, but keep some money in to profit from further upside.
Thank you - I have half heartedly uploaded to spotify but YT for me is easier. Will add the pods to my substack that way users can listen to audio only versions. link here: theroiclub.substack.com/
I don't think anyone has asked Mr. Rule what his macro predictions would be in the natural resource arena, in the event of WWIII. There are two very serious conflicts in our world presently, either of which (but more likely the Russian/Ukraine conflict) involving nuclear powers that appear to be at the boiling point. No one in the investment world seems to be concerned.
I believe that has been embedded in his responses around oil and PGMS. That's what he means when he alludes to certain supply side shocks via straight of hormuz and Russia/SA/Zimbabwe
Great conversation. Thankyou for getting Rick on.

With regard to the 20% increase in social rents... any insights as to why?

Doug Casey’s free ride. Sell half and let the rest ride.
