Fender did this Guitar per Month thing a few years ago, I remember the solid Redwood Tele from a torn down bridge. Slap on a Double the cost tag and here we go again.
Looks like Warmoth took a lot of there business. Nice to know they FINALLY listen to there audiences and give us stuff we want! Like a Mahogany body strat! Or ebony fret board! Why did that take so long!!?!?
Is Fender ever going to cater to the public that keeps modifying Telecasters to add tremolos? And I mean not a Custom one with a huge CBS headstock and humbuckers, but a real SS Tele with a tremolo. Look 7:12 even this guy wants one!!
It wouldn't have the right sound, the magic of the tele lies in that pickup being mounted in that bridge plate. Why ask fender to add a trem to a tele when you could buy one of the thousands of them that already exists with bigsbys (factory installed or modded)?
Not everyone lives in the USA. Here I can buy Custom Shop Fenders, but if I want to purchase a Bigsby I have to order one because not a single shop offers one (it'll probably cost me double the money by the time it arrives). And then there's the installation, various half-arsed bridge solutions, shimming the neck etc. As for the already modified second hand guitars, I've only seen one example in about 2 years of looking, and it's a rare nearly 2000-dollar double-bound Thinline, which is nice, but somewhat beyond my budget, and not what I really need anyway. So I gave up and bought a Classic 50s Lacquer model and am now scratching my head as to what to do next :) Why not offer a Trem-King or a Super-Vee Maverick-like solution from the factory? The latter even has the 3 brass saddles (and looks totally stock).
***** As far as catering to the public, Fender has released many telecaster with factory bigsbys, they don't sell and often hurt the value of a guitar. It's a bad business decision hence why they don't make one.
They did offer a telecaster with single coils and a trem in the late eighties well into the nineties. It was called the Telecaster plus deluxe. And no that's not a humbucker there, it's two seperate Lace Single coils which could be phase switched. www.fendertelecasterguitars.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/fender%20telecaster-420822713268958660.jpg Around that same time Fender offered the HMT tele which came with a Floyd Rose... i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb245/groovydjs/1991-9220Fender20HMT20Telecaster20S.jpg And in the mid eighties Fender Japan had the Contemporary Telecaster which also came with a trem as stock but that wasn't really a traditional tele either... www.stratconnection.com/photos/FENDER-1986-MIJ-CONTEMPORARY-TELECASTER/016.JPG So for you to name the Telecaster deluxe as being the only Fender Tele which came with a Trem isn't fair toward Fender, they offered way more teles with whammy bars, they just never caught on.
It's not as well known that NO finish breathes, including nitro. There have been articles written by finish experts about this marketing nonsense. That doesn't mean that different finishes don't sound different, they do. They just don't breathe.
Fender most certainly DID NOT stop innovating what about them strats they made with personality cards that was an amazing innovation you should do more research on your fenders
gogajira2 They do- they've had the "Pawn Shop" series and a bunch of other stuff - -The Dimension basses are amazing and I think eventually will find a solid market There' just no demand for anything too far out. Strats, Teles, Jags...those designs are time-proven and they're what players want.
i'm a hardcore fender guy, love 'em... but fender is zero news, nothing really interesting or new. switch colors, body shapes, necks, it's all the same. very corporate business, conservative and ultimately boring.
Looks like you guys finally figured out how to eliminate all the crowd noise from these namm demos. Well done

That black Strat with the ebony fretboard is so badass. I want it so bad!
Love the vintage tele!
That Mustang!
I'd like to try the Redwood Tele...
Well,I like the double cut Tele!
kingstumble I just did an in-depth review of the double cut Tele. Check it out on my profile if you are interested.
***** Thanks Kevy. I did check it out. Excellent review/demo.I like it even more now! ---John.
kingstumble Thanks John!

They need to make more Jazzmaster's!
I don't see a lot here that is really that interesting. Pretty guitars but nothing that really blows me away.
The korina Tele is cool. I'm sure it'll be 2,500 even though it cost $50-$75 more than alder to make. I'll wait for used
I can never tell if Charles is half asleep, baked, hungover or just doesn't give a crap. Shawn and Rich are way better.
50,000 watt Fender Twin behind him
I just did an in-depth review of the double cut Tele. Check it out on my profile if you are interested.
I like the idea of the double cutaway tele but it looks horrible
FUCKIN AWESOME COLOUR NATURAL AMAZING
They should have just went with a Strat body with Tele bridge and pickups instead...
FUCKIN AWESOME JUSTIN THEY SOUND AWSOME ESPECIALLY THAT TELE
Still no 24 fret Strat

***** I wasn't talking new as much as I was used. Ebay has many ranging from a squire cabronita at $260 to 4k custom shop tele.

They don't mean the wood actually breathes. It's a figure of speech. They mean that the woods in the guitar can vibrate easier with a thinner finish.
theultimaterockr still BS. guitar companies know how to really bs their way through anything haha
JOHN FRUSCIANTE.
More of a Strat/Tele/Jag guy. But still owns a Mustang haha
WHERE'S THE INNOVATION? WHERE'S THE BEAUTIFUL COLOR? WHERE, WHERE, WHERE? I think Fender stopped on 60's!
That redwood tele was pretty nice
Fender most certainly DID NOT stop innovating what about them strats they made with personality cards that was an amazing innovation you should do more research on your fenders
Elton Oliveira greatness needs nothing but to be. kiddo
HAIR! lol
why dont they innovate something rather than doing really basic modifications to things they already make and call them ''innovations''
gogajira2 They do- they've had the "Pawn Shop" series and a bunch of other stuff - -The Dimension basses are amazing and I think eventually will find a solid market There' just no demand for anything too far out. Strats, Teles, Jags...those designs are time-proven and they're what players want.
I don't see any addition to the arsenal that's worthwhile. Double cutaway tele in my opinion is UGLY!!!
i'm a hardcore fender guy, love 'em... but fender is zero news, nothing really interesting or new. switch colors, body shapes, necks, it's all the same. very corporate business, conservative and ultimately boring.
Get a frickin haircut
That Mustang!
7 years late but I own one and its the best guitar I own.
