Glad I went out to see them again when they came through KCMO one last time just before. Yo, Alex! Check out Wisconsin Death Trip by them when you return to Static-X for another listen.

It really is a great album and it still holds up for me after all those years. It's heartbreaking that Wayne passed away, but I think they're doing a great job of keeping Static-X alive.
RIP Evil Disco. Static-X was an eye-opener for me back in the day. First band I saw live in college, just before the release of their second album. Wayne Static is sorely missed.
Cobb Knobbler, yes those are one of the rare albums on my Ipod where instead of downloading 5 or 6 songs, you don't even hesitate to download the whole thing. In fact I think thats pretty much Static-X's whole library!
Rip Wayne Static. Yes it is about drugs, it took his life and very shortly after, his beautiful wife took her own life😢 you really should check out there song Wisconsin death trip. It is my absolute favorite.🤘Metal on Alex
OHMYGOD!!!! You finally found static-x! PLEASE DO MOAR! This was my sh*t in high school. Some of their really good songs are The Only, Start a War, New Pain.... man there are a lot! Keep it up bro!
Static X was one of the best bands ever. Wayne Static was taken far, far too early and this world is a worse place without his talent. Peace my brother.
Wayne Static died November 1st (?) 2014 of a drug and alcohol overdose. Some of his songs are indeed about drugs. He has a video he made with his wife Tara (ex-pornstar) that shows how he lived. Police had to break through his home because everyone thought he was gone. When they broke into the house, they found Wayne partying and doing drugs. He had a time where he was clean, but when he died he was drinking a lot and having some anti-depressing type pills. His wife died 2 years later. She killed herself because of the depression she carried since Wayne's death. Brother, if you want to really know some song about drugs, check Alice In Chains. Compare the lyrics of these songs: Real Thing, Junkhead, Would?, Angry Chair, Down In A Hole and Again. Through these songs (and many more) you see Layne's point of view about drugs changing. He went from the "Heroin and Cocaine are good" to "I'm dying because of Heroin and Cocaine" He passed away April 5th 2002, bring found only 2 weeks after his death. Layne died of an overdose, by mixing Heroin and Cocaine. 2 of many great musicians that we lost to drugs.
She seemed to be his problem though. His band mates couldn't stand her. She inserted herself into everything. At least that's what I recall from years ago.
@@jackoff1826 You recall correctly. Tera was Static-X's Yoko. And she's the one that got Wayne back on the pills and booze. The pills he overdosed with were prescribed to her.
Cold is slow and boring. Thats like 1 and only song that I dont like from Static X. Its like "The Only" ,the only song from album Shadow Zone that is slow and obviously made for radio or tv album representations. But all other songs on that album....masterpieces of Static X.
I thought I was going to die in a Static X mosh pit at the Metropol in Pittsburgh about 23 years ago. (I think it was the summer of '99) Some huge dude knocked me down and i saw bodies closing in above me. Then about six different hands grabbed me and pulled me back on my feet. Dude I’ve been pulling for Zero Signal forever, but any non-Transgression or Industrialist FF will. I’m pushing more now because Static-X’s bass player Tony Campos is playing for FF now.

So, I remember I was in Wisconsin I played hooky from work, and there was a Megadeth concert in Milwaukee and there was a band there called Static-X that I'd never heard of at the time and it blew me away! He's also Rob Zombie's brother 🙂
kydeface which makes it even better :D ♥
I'm pretty certain I first heard them on Daria lol. Very underrated band though. I used to jam to that song while playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater haha. Simpler times. I'd prefer Nobody's Real or Supernova Goes Pop though.
STATIC X - THE ONLY
Hands down my favorite band ever. Been watching your vids impatiently waiting for Static X to show up, was bound to happen, they don't have a single bad song.
One of the most under rated vocalists in history bro. He has is own style and ppl fail to see his vocal versatility especially early X, especially while playing guitar. I know he wasn't the most technical guitarist but what he was able to do was true tallent. Love and miss Wayne deeply I wish I could thank for being such a big part of my life's soundtrack. I know I'm rambling but this guy drop album after album that you could press play and jam the whole thing no skips. RIP bro I hope you're up there rockn tf out with Paul Grey and The Rev
Dude static x cold is ana amazing tune and i think it would be right up your ally bro
I love Static X and also the solo Album Wayne Static made. "The Only" is my favorite. It deserves a reaction.
Wintersun - Sons of winter and stars (Live rehersal at sonic pump studios).
Martin Broända good choice
I haven't heard this song from them yet until now. Love it! Wayne's vocals are awesome! I still miss him and their music.
So, I remember I was in Wisconsin I played hooky from work, and there was a Megadeth concert in Milwaukee and there was a band there called Static-X that I'd never heard of at the time and it blew me away! The sound and their presence on the stage with the way Wayne Static (RIP) had his hair and the bassist would growl into the microphone singing about a Wisconsin death trip. It's a great memory.especially considering I'm not from Wisconsin but I was there for that show!

Your interpretation of the song is likely spot on, and sadly Wayne Static the lead singer and guitarist died of a drug overdose in 2014. RIP Wayne.
Kevin M his wife killed herself also because of Wayne dieing
I also read it was complications from prescription drugs. Pain killers mixed with anti-depressants or some such combo.
Vicodin and xanax will do that!
He took a strong painkiller with whisky, that's what killed him.
Wayne wasn't doing or did drugs when he wrote this song.
I think you should listen to Mudvayne once more and their song World so Cold. It's really good.
Saw them with Otep, they put on such an amazing show! So much energy. RIP Wayne and Tera. So sad. :'(
awww rip Wayne… the nostalgia at least he left us with some great songs to remind him :)
