Thank you so much for sharing! I wasn't able to go to this show, but I did make it to the Glendale show in September. Seeing Angelina live is such an incredible experience. She is absolutely amazing. But, meeting so many other "Angels" made the weekend even better. It felt almost like a family reunion even though I traveled alone and had never met any of these wonderful people before. I'll say it again, every fan owes it to themselves to see Angelina live. I can't wait for the next show. 🥰

Well Angelina herself, since she was a little girl, has said that she wants to sing for the whole world and spread love. I understand what you are saying but just singing to a small group of mostly older hardcore fans is not going to allow her to realize that dream. That’s the way a lot of early fans of the Beatles in Liverpool felt. They wanted to keep them for themselves. Nothing would make me happier than to see Angelina expand her audience and get the worldwide recognition and praise she deserves. More so than some of the “stars” of today that don’t have anywhere near the talent she has.
Juliet, thank you for putting this together in the way you did, and for your thoughts - it felt like we were back in the room with Angelina, reliving one beautiful performance after another. I'm SO happy you finally got to attend a full concert of hers, but it was also a joy to see you outside the Wishbus 2 months earlier 😇. Thank you! The first thing I think of that has changed my view when listening to Angelina is: Finally quality music by a quality vocalist without equal. Stop listening to artists who are made of autotune, bikinis, and sex, and who are unable to recreate this live. Maybe Angelina can wake us up? Angelina knows she is beautiful, but shows off with elegance and vocals that are often better live than the studio version, she probably be a world star who has followed her own path, and not sold herself the cheap way. Few are close to her vocals, and she is only 18 years old today!

It great to see the show from the perspective of a singing coach as well as an angel ☺ Unfortunately, I live too far to attend these shows but thanks to people like you I feel like I was there 🥰 Angelina never ceases to amaze me! She sounds so good live! I think she really feeds off of the audience energy and love. In fact, I've seen many famous artists who couldn't have a concert without a wall of sounds backing them! BTW, loving how the band is getting tighter and tighter, not to mention Jimmy's outstanding playing and Toby's of course. Amazing! P.S.: Regarding "Bad Valentine" I think both version have their time and place to listen to. Having said that, I agree with you that the uptempo one is best for radio and getting into the charts.
"Thank You" - Like her multiple arrangements of Bad Valentine, her first performance of this song at Glendale was more up-tempo in-your-face, in a reggae arrangement. At El Rey she softened the message, much more introspective. Very few artidsts are so musically gifted. Genius, and seamingly multiplied when working with Toby.
She sang a much more up tempo version of Thank You at the Alex as well as an up tempo of Bad Valentine which is different in several ways from the other versions. I don't think she ever sings anything exactly the same. I think she sings the songs a little differently as she feels it in the moment. Ah! Love this song by her: I Will Always Love You! GREAT video! One song was kinda quiet due to the drums. For your viewers to get a better experience, you may want to react to the great quality concert videos when James releases them, and then invert snippets of your recordings.
Nothing is what could and what should in the industry these days. The popular radio stations are taken and play music that the industry wants to promote. That is, music that falls in line with the industry and agenda... It's been like this for decades. Radio stations are more controlled now more than ever. So the industry have complete control of who makes it. Meaning if you have a dream to become an artist and inspire people, you can't do that. You have to inspire people with what the industry wants you to inspire. Or else you are on your own and with minimum exposure since the industry has everything at the palm (like radio stations, possibly a big part of music platforms like Spotify Apple music). They want to pitch correct/autotune every vocal to sound the same and make everyone in one category, it's the perfect business plan. That way everyone has chance to sell albums and they make people get use to what music sounds like now. Furthermore the industry does not deserve great legends like the past, or a future legend to be like Angelina Jordan.
The Audio quality in your recording is very good there is no perceived drop in volume when the drums kick in, which normally effects mobile phone audio quality
I agree that it didn’t seem that an encore was planned which is kind of unusual. It took a while before she finally did come out. She and the band seemed a little out of sync for a bit on the encore of Princess Of Ruins as if they hadn’t been rehearsing it.

Well Angelina herself, since she was a little girl, has said that she wants to sing for the whole world and spread love. I understand what you are saying but just singing to a small group of mostly older hardcore fans is not going to allow her to realize that dream.
That’s the way a lot of early fans of the Beatles in Liverpool felt. They wanted to keep them for themselves.
Nothing would make me happier than to see Angelina expand her audience and get the worldwide recognition and praise she deserves. More so than some of the “stars” of today that don’t have anywhere near the talent she has.
Juliet, thank you for putting this together in the way you did, and for your thoughts - it felt like we were back in the room with Angelina, reliving one beautiful performance after another. I'm SO happy you finally got to attend a full concert of hers, but it was also a joy to see you outside the Wishbus 2 months earlier 😇. Thank you! The first thing I think of that has changed my view when listening to Angelina is: Finally quality music by a quality vocalist without equal. Stop listening to artists who are made of autotune, bikinis, and sex, and who are unable to recreate this live. Maybe Angelina can wake us up? Angelina knows she is beautiful, but shows off with elegance and vocals that are often better live than the studio version, she probably be a world star who has followed her own path, and not sold herself the cheap way. Few are close to her vocals, and she is only 18 years old today!

Angelina never ceases to amaze me! She sounds so good live! I think she really feeds off of the audience energy and love. In fact, I've seen many famous artists who couldn't have a concert without a wall of sounds backing them! BTW, loving how the band is getting tighter and tighter, not to mention Jimmy's outstanding playing and Toby's of course. Amazing!
P.S.: Regarding "Bad Valentine" I think both version have their time and place to listen to. Having said that, I agree with you that the uptempo one is best for radio and getting into the charts.
"Thank You" - Like her multiple arrangements of Bad Valentine, her first performance of this song at Glendale was more up-tempo in-your-face, in a reggae arrangement. At El Rey she softened the message, much more introspective. Very few artidsts are so musically gifted. Genius, and seamingly multiplied when working with Toby.
She sang a much more up tempo version of Thank You at the Alex as well as an up tempo of Bad Valentine which is different in several ways from the other versions. I don't think she ever sings anything exactly the same. I think she sings the songs a little differently as she feels it in the moment. Ah! Love this song by her: I Will Always Love You! Thank you for supporting the wonderful Ms. Angelina Jordan Astar!

Nothing is what could and what should in the industry these days. The popular radio stations are taken and play music that the industry wants to promote. That is, music that falls in line with the industry and agenda... It's been like this for decades. Radio stations are more controlled now more than ever. So the industry have complete control of who makes it. Meaning if you have a dream to become an artist and inspire people, you can't do that. You have to inspire people with what the industry wants you to inspire. Or else you are on your own and with minimum exposure since the industry has everything at the palm (like radio stations, possibly a big part of music platforms like Spotify Apple music). They want to pitch correct/autotune every vocal to sound the same and make everyone in one category, it's the perfect business plan. That way everyone has chance to sell albums and they make people get use to what music sounds like now. Furthermore the industry does not deserve great legends like the past, or a future legend to be like Angelina Jordan.
The Audio quality in your recording is very good there is no perceived drop in volume when the drums kick in, which normally effects mobile phone audio quality

I agree that it didn’t seem that an encore was planned which is kind of unusual. It took a while before she finally did come out. She and the band seemed a little out of sync for a bit on the encore of Princess Of Ruins as if they hadn’t been rehearsing it.
