I love listening to this. So much nostalgia. Suspiciously, the Secret of the Forest from Chrono Trigger is one of the listed videos in the video suggestions to the right...
i only played chrono trigger a few months ago. I loved it. but I had BoF3 since I was little, finished it many times. Its in my heart, as is IV. What a surprise to hear a very similar song in Chrono Trigger. To me its basically a nod to chrono trigger.
What a magical journey it was playing this absolute gem. This here dated isometric little game crushes some of the current modern AAA games in terms of story, characters and the feeling you get around it's characters and world.. I always say that the 1990s were the golden age for JRPGs. If you didn't play BOF 3 or 4, do yourself a favour and drop everything you do now and play them.
It was the golden age for a lot of things, even other genre's like resident evil before it went not-so-survival-horror anymore. A lot of things changed which is kinda unfortunate. I have a lot of fond and precious memories playing these games as a kid, i wish they made games like they used to but there's still very good games out there and some still hold to the traditional JRPG like Octopath Traveler, Bravely default, and a few others, they are just few and far between. Most games nowadays dont give me the same feeling like games did back then, the atmosphere of these games was enjoyable and pleasant. But breath of fire was a classic, even 1 and 2 were good. What sucks is they never made remakes for these old games or even a remaster for most of them so they are kept in the distant past unless you want to play them again.
@@jadeskies7912 yes, it would be perfect to have remasters of the bof series, and it would probably sell good, idk why capcom don't make it they could continue the series too, but... bof5 and 6 says all hahaha although bof5 is actually a very good game!
This song changed my life. I sampled this back in October maybe? Can’t quite remember but this led me down a path that completely changed the sonics of my album and ultimately my entire identity as an artist. I made my Magnum Opus with this one right here.
started playing this in 1999 , couldn't finish the game because 1; i was 4 years old and 2; i had no idea what they were talking about. Still , brings good memories, i stil remember freshly breaking the cage.
I think it's different enough to be considered separate. I'll give you on the chord progression, but i think it does things differently enough. More of an homage than a copy.
I loved this early part of the game, when the trio was hitting the road, robbing people for food lol fifteen years later I even made a character named Bunyan in Skyrim, he's a lumberjack 😃
kodemasterx Is that supposed to magically change his opinion? If this game is his favorite its his favorite, no need to drag the game down :P Breath of Fire 3 is a great and unique experience and a different flavor of RPG than Chrono Trigger ^^
"Uncle Rei'll take you home. You better appreciate this!" Damn i love Rei! He managed to do good things specially for Teepo and Ryu eventhough he's just a poor thief. I really wished that the game ended without Teepo dying.
@@MissKitty21 You're basically forced to fight him to get past Eden. At this point in the game you find out Teepo is alive and pretty much share the same dragon clan as Ryu does: "The Brood", but Teepo was convinced by Myria they were harmful and he should fight back the Brood. Furthermore at this part you're given a choice, either give up your dragon powers to Teepo (getting an end game) or fight him, get a card to proceed past Eden and meet Myria. I think he is the last important boss before Myria, and it is also noticeable how rude he acts towards Rei but at the end he laments the only thing he wanted in life was to spend it with his family (Ryu and Rei). Very sad.
It takes some big brass ones to not only rip off the forest theme of one of the preeminent video game soundtracks, but to use it as your forest theme as well.
Capcom was in hot water with BoF3 due not only this blatant rip off of Chrono Trigger's Forest theme, but also when they ripped off Ultra Man with Ballio and Sunder's transformation. They were actually sued for that one, and it's the reason why we don't have the PSOne version of BoF3 on PSN.

"If you don't work, you don't eat." Still my motivation to get up and go to work each day 😅

there was one farmer in the game who says"you gotta work hard if you want to get ahead in life"

We need an anime of this!
You're right! This would make an amazing anime!
I know, we do. lol. I only started playing these games 2 months ago.
I say it should be a new story. But it should still have Ryu, Nina, 4 other dudes/chicks, a Teepo clone and SOME kind of all powerful God or Goddess.
I strongly agree but feel it may be ruined because of all of our expectations and love for bof3

Chrono Trigger, Forest song :d

I dunno about that one. 'These Little Things' is REALLY good.

Gosh, when this played I had a memory of playing this on a small screen CRT-TV with my brother back in like 2004 or something
Truly a memorable ost
I also played in 2003-2004
For me, this felt like a mixture of guardia forest and sunflowers and illusions.
Love this game the hours I spent training so I didn't loose teepo but still lost him lol

i think many of us did the same on the 2nd replay haha
Yeah, you’re not alone lol
Teepo noooooooo T_T *vietnam flashbacks*

Crono, Marle, Lucca, Frog, Robo, Ayla, and Magus all sorts of pissed off.

rips off secrets of the forest from Chrono Trigger but still some great music nonetheless. That four note riff is so catchy.

Why does this sound like that track from chrono trigger? “Secret of the forest” like it’s so identical in the beginning
Why this song is like the Chrono Trigger song from the first forest dungeon?

A game copying something from Chrono Trigger is the same as a movie copying something from Citizen Kane.
Even Linkin Park copied the intro of What I've Done from Chrono Trigger Undersea Palace... go watch both videos and see the similarities
Citizen Kane!! Lol! Such a random pick lmao
And in the same song, Linkin Park used a MAGIX Music Maker 2013 Premium drum beat, "Typical" (the name of the drum loops)!
