And what infuriates me is the entire concept of "mob votes" like ITS MORE FUCKING CONTENT? WHY NOT JUST ADD ALL OF THOSE MOBS WHY DO WE HAVE TO CHOOSE JUST ONE???
The updates are pretty bad BUT would you rather have things like the new pigs that you will see a ton or a mega rare structure that you will never find. Also remember they made this in three months which is way better than once a year. I’m not defending mojang they need to fix Minecraft now like just look at terraria, come on Minecraft.
I mean resin and the fallen leaves are kinda cool but yeah pretty much everything else in the last few updates was pretty much a texture pack and a datapack...
@@fabio5d I agree with you, but you gotta admit. That new white wood set SLAPS HARD. I agree the pale garden is a bunch of retextured blocks. But at least they look good. And the creaking works well with the face that you have to look at it and the only way to kill it is to divert your attention away from it. I know that it may seem like it doesn’t do a lot of damage. But when you have to mine blocks and break the heart. That damage adds up and after you have like half of your health gone without armor. That leaves you vulnerable to other mobs that may be around you. And I love how creepy the biome is. Especially with shaders on. I know the biome is small now but imagine how scary it will be when the pale garden gets bigger!
@thatperson8126 yeah additions are additions it's better than getting nothing, I personally love building so much i often make a huge house in just full iron. But i didn't like the way the pale garden was implemented being all the new stuff compacted into that one biome, we could've had the wood spawn alongside dark oak in the roofed forest and the creepy being stalked biome is kinda the idea in the warped forest but not as dangerous since enderman aren't hostile by default. Anyway my point being of they just add new biome and all fearures by separate and make us have to actively look for them makes them feel very isolated like a "I added .... to minecraft in 1 week" mod, that's why i consider things like the fallen leaves good, they are and improvement to ambience that isn't locked to one specific place.
Eye-candy is nice, but should never be the main focus of an update. If an update is merely for cosmetics, then the game is mostly finished in terms of gameplay and deep content and now the devs just mob up the minutiae and superficial dredge that wasn't taken care of until then.
the sad part is while you are right minecraft is at a point of self sustaining depth with the rise and ease of minecraft modding no amount of lack luster updates matter because you can always count on the modding community kleeping the game alive while mojang spends 8 years on a 4 kb update
Ah yes but the issue with this argument is not every other game is the most sold game of all time. The reason it is unheard of for a game to be updated this long is because not many games have actually made profit or even had a player base for this long. I mean its not like mojang are doing this out of the kindness of their heart the games makes an insane amount of money especially when things like the market place exists I mean also by this logic a company like nike should of stopped trying years ago but they haven’t because they are very profitable
As someone who enjoys collecting things, I actually love the mob retextures. Personally think they should add biome variants for a lot of other mobs. That said, it shouldn’t be a primary feature of an update. Just something that gets worked on in the background.
While the content updates appear underwhelming, they have been doing great work behind the scenes for addon developers! Currently a lot of the “needed” features are still on the beta api (not the beta version of the game) which unfortunately and understandably cannot be used on marketplace addons. Once those features reach stable it should open the door for a much better quality and content packed addons. The base game is an amazing blank canvas to create with, we just need the tools to be finished :) one really big PRO of addons compared to Java mods is that behavior and resource packs can be used on the server and anyone can seamlessly connect and use all of that content without needing to download mods. The behavior packs can also be updated server side without connected players needing to download anything new. Additionally, I’d recommend anyone to try out the preview versions if they are able to and try out the deferred shaders. Not quite RTX but once polished looks very promising.
Ye i get what ur saying fairs also deferred rendering definitely needs work still lol i played it the other day and in the same areas i usually get like60-70 fps on rtx literally either my game to freeze or get 20-30 fps lmao
@@Diamond_man500yeah it definitely needs work. I’ve found it to be playable if you drop your display resolution before launching the game. My laptop has a 4070 and can lock at 120fps if I set resolution to 1280x800. Lots of small visual glitches with it still too though

I hear where you’re coming from, personally I really hope the stuff they’re showing right now is just a preview of the final version of this update because it feels lazy as of right now. I’m all for ambience/visual updates so I’m not mad at the ideas, but I don’t understand giving pigs multiple variants but not mobs like cows for example. I also don’t like how the leaf litter blocks are only one color, they should have all the variants for all the different types of leaves… it’d just make sense. Love the wildflowers tho, but it’d be cool if you could mix them with the pink petals from the cherry blossom home. Imagine the cool combinations you could do if they decided to add more flowers like that to the game in the future.
Overall quality of the recent "updates" Are hit rock bottom too. Like, we hit so rock bottom that they are teasing a simple recipe change like its the next biggest thing... They dont listen to anyone and they keep adding lackluster and half baked features. They say "we value community feedback" But lemme lay you the truth nah they dont care a bit. They will keep adding bottom of the barrel quality features, 2 blocks and a mob every year until this game takes its last breath. I cant tell if they are stupid or way too ignorant and lazy. Maybe both. I feel like they dont even wanna work on the game anymore. People were begging for years for good updates an example being an end update but all they did was ignore and ignore. Even ignoring such simple requests like fog and a white pumpkin for the creaking update. And then they say "we value feedback" I used to love and support mojang but now i cant see any reason at all to support their scummy and ignorant behaviours i just hate them so much. They keep putting resources and actual efforts to stupid spinoff games but like why? Put those resources and effort into minecraft. If i were mojang, i would develop huge udpates behind the scenes since this new drop schedule allows mojang to release smaller stuff to keep people busy while working on the bigger stuff and there is no deadline! Its funny people correcting and saying "they aren't updates they are drops" they are still updates. It doesn't matter if mojang decided to give it a fancy name for the smaller ones, they are still updates. Mojang does not have the ability to change the meaning of the word update. Yes calling it a drop would be more specific, but calling it an update would not be incorrect. Its like when people correct people about hats. I have had people tell me "no that's not a hat, that's a cap, even though a cap is a TYPE of hat.
Honestly i just play snapshot 20w19a. Or 1.16.1. I hate the caves and cliffs update. I hate the piglin brutes. I feel like that Mojang doesn't know how to actually fix cruicial glitches in bedrock, combined with the fact that I can't even choose my version of the game. Not to mention the fireflies. That was bullshit and I even ranted on their video on it.

Guys don't you get it? Mojang has high standards for updates, it's not like those mods that include innovative and interesting mechanics to the game. I think that these updates are just pointless. No one asked for these very small details, and If you REALLY wanted them there are a milloin texture packs. Something a lot of people have been wanting for so long is an update to The end, some More pizzazz to it, like The nether update, and Even though IT would Be strictly visual, it would Be a Hell of a lot More interesting than some new forest. If i heard hey, a major update to The end, it would inspire me maybe to go Explore IT myself, But a new forest? Absolutely not.
You missed another feature. They made the pale gardens bigger. That was a huge community suggestion and it was added. That was huge. And I think you are majorly downplaying the ambiance updates to forests. They have needed this update forever. It will make forests much more pretty. I know builders love the leaf litter because it will look so much nicer for paths. And the wildflower is another new flower that looks really good. Should there be other colors? And we also got the 🟨⬛️ leak so it’s possible that the firefly will be added back to the game. Of course it’s not official but we can hope.

Why don’t we be grateful for what we did get huh? (Also you can just turn down your render distance in game if you want to get the affect. It’s not a long term solution but it’s something.) Another thing, you don’t need updates to keep the game interesting. I played on my single player world on 1.20.1 for a while after 1.21 released. Why? Because I didn’t need a new structure or item to keep me interested. I was happy with building my base or upgrading my village houses. The game isn’t all about the new updates.
just play a different game, for ppl who play it as a sandbox like mumbo and grian, they get a lot more out of new particles and retextured blocks, and if you really don't like the update just simply don't play it, there's a reason they let you play older versions👍
