What the Big People Do
When you think about it, the episode about Tommy and Chuckie being older is far scarier when you view it as an adult
One of the best Rugrats episodes there was
It is!!!!!
Also funnier during some scenes.
Agreed. It is so great though. Could you imagine if getting fired was really like that?
The thing that makes it a living nightmare is that you can't say "I WANT TO BE LITTLE AGAIN" like Chucky did, then return to being young.
Ok the last one was kinda scary when Angelica said Oh boys, time to play HOUSE!! *laughs evily*
Just when you think the nightmare is over.
The face she made when saying "house".....
Seeing a baby's head on an adult body with broad shoulders is scary enough
😂😂 that episode was scary and genius.
You also forgot their mechanical wrists when they punched the clock. I was dead.
The scene that always disturbed me that most was that nightmare Angelica had about an evil baby brother with a creepy boss voice who kept growing bigger while getting all their parents' attention while she was neglected, then she ended up getting eaten. I'm surprised it didnt end up up on here!
Maybe in the next part...
I forgot how scary this cartoon could be sometimes lol. But it was LIT!
Yeah
I realize it now. It's pretty much a horror cartoon simply because it's just the world seen through the eyes of the naive young and innocent. In an artsy way, this site was perfect.
And trippy as hell.
the ending of what the big people do always scared the shit outta me when i was little
yeah, it's the face she made that made it scary.
I remember that episode what the big people do the ending scared the shit outta me and they made angelica look like satan's secretary.
AluminomSiren 92 It's like the Coachman in "Pinocchio"...
as Satan itself lol
Haha. I always loved that creepy circus music that plays when Chuckie says “Mr. Bear, I don’t really like it in here”
I just watched What The Big People Do for the first time since I was a child. Still got disturbed by the ending lol.
You should add the episode where Chuckie wishes he was never born, and Angelica ends up big and fat with Didi and Stew slaving away over her while Tommy is skinny and starving. And Phil and Lil are gangsters of sorts who destroyed their parents house, while they are crying in the corner. That episode was always pretty scary/disturbing to me as a kid, and still kind of is if you think about it. Also another creepy one was the one where Phil and Lil try to figure out which of them is the "favorite" twin and it shows a fantasy sequence where one of them has a dirty, cold bed with no food, and the other is fat with milk.
T.E.C._1 omg yes those were disturbing
Yeah I know this episode in the scene were Chuckie is riding with the angel and wondering why all the babies are causing so much trouble because without him Grownup are completely powerless. That scene was the probably darkest park of the episode. That scene reminds me of the L.A. Riots.
The Phil and Lil episode you mentioned is seared into my memory. As a kid, the thought of a helpless baby left cold and hungry was really scary.
4:38 nope😐😬 this right here is a nightmare waiting to happen lmao
2:02 Come join the clown, Chucky. You'll float down here. We all float down here. Yes we do. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I remember being scared of big dogs for awhile after seeing that first episode. Then I watched Sandlot and it felt like almost a direct response to that episode.
So Tommy and Chuckie worked at the Ministry of Magic for a short time.
Let’s hope dumbledore doesn’t ask if they put they’re names in the goblet of fire *"CALMLY"*
The scariest part for me about the Season 1 Episode 2 is not the vicious killer dog on a chain, it's the 60 fps shaking of the screen whenever he jumps and hits the ground.
Nobody:
Not a single soul:
Not even Angelica:
Thorg: *THORG HUNGRY! THORG WANT EAT!*
4:38 scariest moment ever in Rugrats lol
This show was so fucking surreal.
Chaotic Simon Yeah. Still can’t believe all of this was for kids.
4:38 Angelica real form.
Dude, Tommy almost straight up died to that bulldog, jeez!
Rugrats Perfectly Cut Screams:
4:21 4:40
0:54 “It’s just the car”
1:00 “It’s just a lamp”
1:07 *OH SHIT, A RAT*
The Rugrats moments/episodes that scared/creeped me when I was younger:
🔘 The Monster in the Garage episode, mainly the music until that mouse comes out.
🔘 The ending to What the Big People Do.
🔘 Angelica's nightmare in Angelica's Worst Nightmare, mainly how big that baby got and just the thought of being neglected.
🔘 The episode with Chuckie's nightmares.
🔘 Stu getting Tommy a pet tarantula to try and replace Spike. That kickstarted my fear of spiders, along with the Night at the Katz Motel episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog, and the scene in the Forbidden Forest with Aragog in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
🔘 And the designs of the Dust Bunnies in that episode.
Yeah, I Know right. I was afraid to
The tarantula was what started my phobia of spiders. Such a traumatic thing for a 5 year old. That and the "oh we oh, yo ho" robots scared the fuck out of me as well.
In the "What the big people do" episode, the people jumping out the portraits, the dead end elevators, and the big box zombie like robots, scared the fuck outta me as a kid. Then on top of that, when tommy and Chuckie punched the clock ⏰⏰ and their mechanical wrists came out, I think I turned off the TV after that.
The last part what do Big people Scared me as a kid it made wet my pants.
Me too
4:02 so fukd up! Weeks worth of nightmares 😂😂😂
Those soul-dead worker robots were pretty creepy.
For real though.
@@ytto051 I just realized they're making the "ooh wee ooh" chanting like the witch's guard in Wizard of Oz. Honestly I originally thought that was mechanical noise which was scarier.
OMG! YES! THAT WAS SOME CREEPY ASS HIT!!!!!!!!!!!
Thorg Hungry! Thorg want Eat!
Thorg Hungry! Thorg want Eat!
Thorg Hungry! Thorg want Eat!
Thorg Hungry! Thorg want Eat!
Halt. I am Reptar.
Halt. I am Reptar.
Rugrats had plenty of episodes that were weird and even terrifying. What the Big People Do was such a good and scary episode, adulthood can be scary sometimes.
Before KND had Father, there was Boss Angelica.
That ending in the Big People always freaked me out. It made you wonder what happened afterwards.
I don’t know maybe after tommy and chuckle screamed the three kids overheard stu and drew arguing as usual about having to make robots as new employees at a company and tommy and chuckie looked at each other in shock and confusion even Angelica became confused, but they didn’t know is that the stuff stu was arguing with drew about is just a board game stu is making
I remember being scared of the slumber party episode cos tommy's hallucinations were weird
0:53 Good thing Chuckie brought the flashlight. Nice job, Chuckie!
Good god now I remember why the grown-up episode was always so terrifying. Those freaking robots at the end.
God that last one scared the living soul out of me when I was a kid.
Ooh boy, was I terrified of the "What The Big People Do" in general when I first saw it in the mid-90's. Was afraid to leave the living room, go upstairs and go to bed too!
I know right? Which was scarier, the zombie like robots, the people coming outta the pictures in the hallway, the end of the road elevators that Chuckie was trying to push to get out, Angelica the boss, or their mechanical wrists when they were both trying to punch the clock ⏰⏰
That’s it. I’m going to Hulu to binge the old seasons.
Monster in the garage has to be the only time Chuckie wasn’t scared of stuff and shined the flashlight on objects
1:42 that rabbit scene scared me as a kid but man it’s funny to watch today 😆😂
Lol, right as Chuckie says he doesn't want to get fired, u can see a picture of the devil
bob Last & if you look closely, their eyes are moving too.
Damn that is creepy u do
2:44 Godzilla Vs King Kong, Nickelodeon Version
In 2020 it will come true
Pedro Mendez it’s all ready 2020
Tommy accidentally flipped the switch on Thorg's stomach that turns him on or off.
While banging on Reptar's right side, he accidentally hits the button that turns him on.
Reptar and Thorg were just electronic toys doing what they're made to do: Their eyes light up, they walk and talk when they're turned on. Like Tommy said, they're not really alive.
The animation on Chuckie's face @0:58 has me fking dying
dear lord. What the big people do scared me so much as a kid. not that much I would have went to hide not it gave me an uncomfortable, anxious feeling, especially these scenes 3:41 4:00 4:19
Me too those robots used to give me nightmares!
The robot employees. Oh god they're almost as scary as they were when I was a kid in the 90s. lol
Stu: Come back Drew i just wanna talk to you
thorg hungry! thorg want eat!
i was hoping someone posted this already
Halt! I am Reptar!!!
i always thought thorg said "thorg walking" instead of want eat when i was little
So Tommy and Chuckie worked at the Ministry of Magic for a short time.
Its amazing how dark the first 3 seasons were. The later seasons toned it down a lot.
3:50 I say this to myself at least once every day
chuckle thinks about getting married. It's scary too
“Oh, boys. Time to watch *HOUSE!”* 💊🩻💉🩺
In what the big people do ill never forget engelicas evil, the flames getting higher, and those big evil faced robots clanking closer with each groaning footstep.they look like they mean business.
That fucking dancing lamp in Tommy's room used to scare the shit out of me.
2:46 nick predict the 2020 for godzilla vs kong
Since when did Chuckie get so brave in Monster in the Garage?
Justin Blystone He's learning not be scared and even though he's the Cowardly Character he's actually the bravest character like Courage the Cowardly Dog. Because a Cowardly person is actually the bravest because they always risk their life for people they care about.
The godness of the underworld is the most horrifying scene in a office building
I love that Clown Lamp that especially the way he had that mean smile
4:38 Look at her face 😂.
1:31 That cloud in Super Mario 64.
4:02 goddamn that scared me as a kid
Me too those robots sure gave me nightmares
Growing up, was I the only one to think of Angelica the Boss as Angelica the Devil... I mean Devine, and her office as Hell...?
That grownup episode was one of the scariest episodes of this cartoon. Next is when Angelica has a nightmare of having a baby brother
Or even the inside story where Angelica wanted to kill Chuckie.
@@theminuteman3460 You mean the one episode where she tells him that he shouldn't be born and he runs away? Maybe im wrong. idk lol
No, I was referring to the episode where Chuckie swallows a watermelon seed and Angelica attempts to go inside and explode him. The title to the episode you’re thinking of was Chuckie’s wonderful life. To be fair that episode was also pretty messed up.
@@theminuteman3460 Right. Angelica may be a kid but sometimes she goes WAY too far!
Agreed
2:13 Beep-Beep, Chuckie!
The part where they got to the bosses office and there’s all these portraits of evil scary bosses and then they get to the office and all you see is the chair rocking back and forth making a rhythmic squeaking before it’s revealed to be Angelica
3:03 I've been looking for this, but you've edited it.
I don't know which is scarier, scary nightmares, clowns, Angelica in reality, Angelica in dream images, characters portrayed as scary figures in legends, or shadows in the dark.
I saw that episode what the big people do and when they were in the fantasy..tommy said "it's a tide.." (aka tie), it keeps their heads from falling off..I mean imagine their baby heads falling off and all that's left is a headless adult body..
The story Grandpa Boris tells the babies about the "Dybbuk" was always scary (specially now, knowing it was based on a REAL myth.)
"I don't know Mr Bear, I don't really like it in here....
Tommy? Tommy???"
2:02
It’s quite possible Rugrats had just as many scary moments (if not more) than Ren and Stimpy
The cutest of these scary scenes is from “Toy Palace” when Tommy stepped on one of the squeaky Thorg toys.
I DONT WANT TO BE A BIG PEOPLE ANYMORE! This Adulting thing is not what I signed up for lol
When Chuckie screams, how does he all of a sudden have more teeth?
Thorg hungry! Thorg want eat!
Drixenol86 HALT I am Reptar
2:26 lmfao 🤣 my favorite part of that episode
Yep
I always thought it was weird how during Chuckie's "Trial" flashback, when the "monster" first pops up at 1:48 it's clearly Angelica in a rabbit mask, but then at 1:52 it's an actual cartoon rabbit!
3:42 CHAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!!!!!!
this is all burned deep in my psyche
Same here
I never remembered the second half of the what big people do episode as a kid. If I remember correctly, then I recall my older sister changing the channel once right after the first few minutes.
1:31 Phineas Flynn: Felix the Crocodile, Stop acting like a spoiled brat! You're upsetting SpongeBob and Revvit! 0:53
Felix the F Letter: I don't care about upsetting your besties! How about you go across the street to buy a diamond ring from Brazil so you can engage me?! Come on, Lord Phineas! ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME ENGAGE ME RIGHT NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!
Zeebot: everyone, DOGPILE HIM!!!!
One of the funniest parts on the Rugrats was in the episode when Grandpa Lou moved out of the Pickles' house and into Flushing Waters Retirement Center. It was the part when Grandpa was watching the infomercial on TV and when the agent mentioned the private stream, Grandpa Lou asked "Private stream?" and then the agent said "Yes, private stream" like he was talking to Lou. That was funny.
HALT, I AM REPTAR!!!
Thorg's awesome XD and strange seeing The dinosaur being the ''good guy'' XD
2:43 spoilers for Godzilla vs. Kong
Looking for the episode where the gang goes into chaz garden a believe a monster is in there really a coat rake
Michael Irish You mean when they went in the green house and Chuckie saved Tommy. Yeah I can't remember the name of that one but I do think it was in Season 2
I believe that one was called "Farewell, My Friend" (title is random in my opinion). But I loved that episode
Where's part 1 of these videos?
1:02 the fact that chucky is a big scaredy cat but shows bravery in this episode
My Favorite Bit
I like how he said MAYBE even get married.
What the big people do my favourite episode
I didn't remember how crudely animated was the dog from "Barbecue Story"
Angelia was so scary!
when she said the ''time to play house'' line at the end i said: "omg this must had scared the crap out of kids..."
It did
sorry but I think the scariest most disturbing scene is at the end of Slumber Party where Tommy is surrounded by giant mutants with his familys faces and theyre singing him a lullaby, then Angelica flys in with tiny angel wings completely nude and Tommy throws up on her chest. That is the most disturbing scene. Its also weird that Angelica seems to refer to Tommy as a "she" in the clip I saw. I had just seen a screenshot of it minutes ago from Rugrats wiki when I searched for the goose scene and I couldnt believe it was real.
It was the fever dream episode lol
2:26 Throg Hungry Throg want eat!🤣🤣🤣🤣
am i the only one who still gets creeped out by the ending of what the big people do to this day?
2:26
Why did Tommy and Chuckie run away from Thorg like that? He just wants eat.
ShellshockPrime They thought it was them he wanted to eat.
0:49 Monster car! 😱😱😱
It was just like Monster House, Christine, The Car, the Black Dodge Charger (from Wheels of Terror), Happy Toyz (Green Goblin) Truck (from Maximum Overdrive), the fuel truck (from Duel), Joey Russo's monster truck (from Rolling Vengeance), The Ambulance (from The Ambulance), the Dodge Interceptor (from The Wraith), the Shapeshifting Car Monster (from Super Hybrid), the Westway Refrigerated Truck (from Trucks), James S. Caddock's Car (from The Car: Road to Revenge), Dora (from Dora (2017)), the Killdozer (from Killdozer! (1974)), the train (from Amok Train aka Beyond the Door III) and the ghost truck (from Supernatural: Route 666).
1:07 It's Stuart Little!
That's the toy story ball
