    Just when you think this song can't possibly get any better, along comes Phil Armeno's gorgeous tenor sax solo at 2:30. David Palmer's original lead vocal made "Dirty Work" a song that even non-Steely Dan fans loved the very first time they heard it. After being dismissed from the band in 1973, Palmer went on to compose the lyrics for Carole King's Grammy-nominated 1974 smash hit, "Jazzman."

      Thank You for the comments Andy! We love doing that tune featuring Cyriese on the lead vocal and Phil on the sax. I knew that David left the band, but had no idea that he worked with Carole King. Great little fact there!

      @@goodstuff8238 A fact I didn't know until Wikipedia came along. I've since learned on a RUclips interview with David Palmer that he's switched professions from music to digital photography.

      @@andyinoregon Interesting about David. Steely Dan went through so many changes over the years. I am hoping that they might do another album.
