Ya the show was elevated from a 6 to an 8.5 because of MC not being a turbo virgin and the fact they let the kid die, any other show nothing like that would ever happen MC will never not get his way.

And honestly that they decided to keep it from the mother was a bit questionable, though I suppose without knowing for sure that her son is dead it might give her time to grieve her husband and give her at least some hope for a while even if they know its false. I suspect breaking it to her right after she lost her husband might drive her to something drastic by the desperation on her face. I'm honestly not sure if there /is/ a right decision in that situation.

Exactly, that's why I'm dropping it. Not giving her closure would only make her suffer more, so it would be better to tell her than having her go on a search that'll never end. It's gonna affect her mind in a REALLY bad way
i actually agree with what he has done. From what i can see the mother has absolutely nothing left. if you were to tell her that her son passed away then she will probably commit suicide. With her not knowing at the very least she has a reason to live and a reason to claw her way back up from the pits of despair. If she were to learn about it in another time when she is mentally stable then it's quite possible, she can cope with it better. The main character also now has the burden of guilt to deliver this news when in the first place it was none of his business. He went out of his way in an attempt to rescue the son and even gave him medicine for it. He got injured for it. In the first place he doesn't owe them anything and is suffering in his own way for it.
Regardless I think this topic could go either way. If he tells her and she commits suicide now he has to deal with another death on his conscience and he would feel responsible for that. By not telling her she at least has something to live for and a goal but has to deal with that in his own way after they are both dealing with that loss. I don't think I would have told her either for this very reason. I couldn't handle having her death on my conscience as well and one day I would tell her in the future if we crossed paths again.

Yeah, but is there even a right choice in that situation? If he tells her, she will be faced with the fact that she is alone now, and lost the two people she cared most for in life. Who knows what that kind of grief would do to her. She may even take her own life. Alternatively, she may suffer never knowing what happened to her son, but she may be able to hold out hope for him to continue on with her life, and maybe move forward eventually. It will always know at her heart, but there is still a chance for her to find a life again. There really is no good option in this situation, but sometimes it is better to live a convenient lie than to face a bitter truth.

See, she was sold into slavery without a collar without much of an issue. Having the slave collar on means that someone else can't just recapture her and sell her without the consent of the master. She likes this particular master and how he treats her, thus she doesn't mind that the collar is there; after all, she knows he'd never sell her and doesn't mistreat her. Thus the protection from further enslavement is worth leaving the collar on.
Now, I do get where you're coming from, @JamesEDonaldson, but not all worlds are as egalitarian as the world your currently reside in (and even this one has its dark corners).

the first half is very much true but the other half had me double take. in what world is it easier to accurately launch an arrow from a bow that basically relies on feel and eyeballing trajectories than a faster than sound projectile with spin stabilization fired from a steel tube with sights to ensure your round has the highest chance of hitting roughly where you want it to. yours specifically is made for accuracy and has a scope sight which gives you a reticle and eye relief so aiming is a lot easier than usual. i get that this is an anime where magic is at play but still that statement is ridiculous if it was made regarding bows vs guns in general.
