- This tutorial provides an introduction to creating worksheets using MathCAD Prime. Worksheets in MathCAD can be used to document and automate technical mathematical algorithms or to develop them. Using a practical example from computer science for calculating the transmission time from a digital project via various transmission systems of a network, the following topics are explained:
-Include a certain area in the worksheet in which one can hide certain auxiliary calculations 03:20
-Create custom units 05:00
-Create variables with custom units as input parameters of the worksheet 10:30
-Use of tables and vectors to map related data structures 11:40
-Creation of variables with units as output parameters of the worksheet
-Summing up a vector 24:35
-Mathematic operations with vectors and scalars 26:05
-Use of built-in functions for vectors and matrices 29:10
The use of user-defined units is not only interesting for computer science, which units unfortunately do not appear in MathCAD. One could also use user-defined units for mathematical algorithms in the financial sector, e.g. to represent different exchange rates between different currencies.
