Missed the doobyvlog! I know you're going through things with your family but I'm so happy to see you surrounded by good friends as well as umbrella man. Hope you have the loveliest time away ❤
Your talent isn't just in cooking and eating, you've got really good film making skills. The way you put the shots together is really good and I think that is why I like watching these. It's an appreciation of the artform of filmmaking.

With how much life forces us to do things we have to do, keep choosing to do things that make you the most happy and we’ll love every second you give us
Wow never really realized how much I normalized eating alone in restaurants too. There's nothing like taking yourself out on a date & thinking about life~ I think it's funny when people look at me strangely thinking what is this 24yr old girl doing here alone? I even had waiters ask me what I was doing there LOL. Idk why can't we just appreciate the beauty of loving your own company❣
I'm 19 and i love being alone and eating out it's just a different feeling like ,me and my friends went to this cafe that we discovered while we were roaming and it was a wonderful cafe after i came back I'm wanting to go back to that cafe but alone lol it's just different vibes
Right choices, wrong choices, they're a part of adulting and we never really know the results until later. Enjoy being young and keep going even though the journey is stressful and eventually things will be on a better side (or they never will and we just have to accept and move on, and that's okay too). Hope to see more vlogs while you're on this trip :)
aww, poor umbrella man. I remember when I was studying in Japan, the fact that I could use chopsticks was received with the same amount of amazement as my speaking the language. I was like "wow, talk about low expectations"🤣🤣 I was extra thankful for the lessons from my childhood best friend's family. He'll get there! I really relate to your comments about being alone. I think this is something that a lot of women struggle with when they're younger. Society values us in part by the people that we're attached to and being alone is equated with loneliness instead of being comfortable in your own skin. Travelling alone was the best thing for my own growth. I realized that I didn't NEED people; I had the power to choose people. People were added value to my life, so I should make sure that I wasn't surrounded by toxicity. That meant losing some friends, but the people who've remained bring so much joy to my life and are my best cheerleaders. Wishing you the best!
This vlog was honestly flawless. I missed the cooking, but I laughed out loud more times than I can count and the editing was so complementary. Thank you for the excellent content Dooby! 👹❤️

So glad to see you living your best life. You're young and free so be unafraid to do what makes you happy. You will look back and be glad you made this leap. Also, try to visit Norway. The landscape is so different from DK and incredibly beautiful too. 😍
I think the issue your parents have with umbrella man is not so much his educational background but more so that he’s not Korean (there’s plenty of people without higher education that are successful), as it is just harder for them to communicate and bond with him as they would want to be close to you, your future husband, and children. It’s just easier with someone from the same background, and for them to explain and get their friends and relatives to accept. At the end of the day, they would love you and grow to accept umbrella man if you were to ultimately be with him because you are their only kid and will always love you, but they will be disappointed. That part of it, you will find it hard for them to get over even if they do end up seeing some good in him because they will always think you could have gotten better. In the end, either party could be correct, as there’s no guarantee in any relationship, but you’re right…you’re a big boy and need to make your own decisions for yourself. Remember one thing- you can have many boyfriends or husbands but really only have one set of parents. Don’t lose that relationship. Try to make things work out even if you choose someone they don’t approve.
im also korean american and feel for dooby cuz my parents too a very long time to accept my bf. and now they love and adore him. i thnk asian parents really dont like interracial couples bc they care abt their culture and their race so much. but when that is pushed aside, parents will still come around (most parents).
@@bumblebee_bae I’m referring more so to her previous video where she stated specifically that her parents felt he wasn’t worthy due to him not having a higher education but I’m guessing that still is being discussed between her and her parents which is causing her to want to run away.
@@carreralicious my bf dropped out of college but his parents and i knew he was a genius, he hated school. And eventually he went back to college bc of me and now he's almost done with his undergrad degree and by next year he might make six figures. So to me education is important but it's not everything. I think Asian parents have a hard time with that bc some of them are still a developing country and higher education is seen as wealth.
@@rileywithendo Understood, but I don’t think this is about higher education, I think it’s more about umbrella man not being Korean. The parents are using the excuse that he isn’t higher educated as the main premise, as that is an easy thing to point out since Tina is well educated, but I think it’s more so that he’s not traditional Korean (or even Asian)…someone they could bond with.
I just moved FROM Denmark to be with my LDR girlfriend of 2 years in Sweden. I hope you’re doing well Tina. I’m finding a lot of comfort in watching you and the relatability in the fact that both of us seem to be going through similar times and decisions in life right now (even the complications, other peoples expectations etc.) - also cool to see you out and about in my home country out of all places, when ive been watching your content for years 🇩🇰😊 Best wishes, I hope Denmark treats you well!
well when your partner lives a minimum of 11 hours of travel time away and you’re only able to see eachother once every 3 months , I’d say you’re wrong
Its wild to me going into a comment section on youtube, finding someone whos sharing their experience about something and then proceeding to attempt to de-legitimize that person’s experience just because you felt like it. To me, having to pay hundreds of dollars and travel a minimum of 11 hours to see the person that you love who is your partner for life, isnt exactly easy or fun, and it is not the norm either. The fact that I cant just decide to go to my girlfriend on a whim because i miss her a lot. That counts as long distance for me, but who am i to argue, im just the person living it, right? lol
Mad respect and love for people who break free from controlling parents who don’t respect their kid’s boundaries. It is one of the biggest challenges we face in Asian households. However if your parents wealth is involved in this adventure it is not really breaking free. I hope that is not the case here. This doesn’t necessarily mean parents funding your lifestyle but also that safety net in your life where you can come back to when your “breaking free” from parents fail. How often do we see a responsible parent taking a break from us? Again something we see in Asian households, where we rebel against our parents but still need them to fund our lifestyle and humiliate them when they become an inconvenience.
@@zizisisi omg dude who the hell are you seriously? Are you like her personal stalker or something? You have literally commented under any comment that is critical of her. I’m not even talking about her here. She herself admitted how she relied on her parents after things didn’t work out in the previous relationship and how they fund her lifestyle.
Parents have a mound of knowledge their kids do not yet have. I think it is very important to actually think about what parents are saying and to really think about it.
I saw you’re in Copenhagen, I hope you love it! It was my favourite city I visited in Europe. The biking experience around sunset, the beautiful parks is absolutely incredible
Welcome to the land of Rød grød med fløde. Enjoy your time in Copenhagen (and the rest of Denmark). As a person born and raised in Copenhagen, it's great to see tourists coming again after COVID :)
I know you'll get through this. The family thing will figure itself out. They just need time to adjust. And if they don't, it's still your life. Proud of you. On a side note, I've spent all night packing my suitcase too and it was a mission. And next morning I see this video 😂
Heeey, I myself moved to Denmark after 2 years of LDR! I totally get your issues with your family and all I want for you is to just do you! Do whatever will make you happy and if your family loves you... they WILL come to accept your decisions :D
Seeking independence, while facing opposition from family members, is never an easy task, she looks a little torn. But being completely authentic to oneself, is the true path to self-actualization! I am inclined to agree with your advice! \🕶/
@@DaestrumManitz It's not authentic to oneself if she imitates independence from her friends. She probably learn from her friends to live alone and imitate them. Imitating others is not authentic or being yourself
Tina, thank you for this. Sometimes it's good to take a step back. Time really works in our favour sometimes, I really hope this will be the case for you! Hugs
Honestly thank you for being you and making the content that you do. I grew up in the States, and don’t really have a great connection to Korean culture like my parents would like me to. Your videos are a way for me to reconnect with my ancestry in a way that’s modern and refreshing. I also show your content to my super white American gf, she wants to appreciate and learn about Korean culture but I don’t know enough to really help her. So your posts and videos have been instrumental in showing her that side of me.
I love how much I learn whenever I watch your videos. I always leave them inspired to better myself...or to just take some time for myself. I hope that getting away is so so so so good:)
I definitely know your struggle Tina, I've been on the same situation as you are.. I chose my happiness. Hopefully your family will then move on and accept that you control your life, not them. We Doobies appreciate your open-ness with us no matter what. Looking forward to mooooooooooooore videos of you with umbrella man :D
You are so lucky to actually be able to move out to recollect yourself and get a new perspective on things. Many of us sadly don't even have that privilege.
Almost a year into LDR and I can say it's a real bummer. Really admire you and umbrella man for making it! I'm excited for your next journey. Lots of love!
Wish you the best! Even when you have something good in your life there are those moments that makes you think what you actually want in your life. I love seeing your channel and I think you're super pretty. Be proud!
I love this channel so much. Literally a highlight of my day watching your vlogs. You upload one, and I excitedly save it till later to watch at a chill time. I hope things get better for you soon, I genuinely do 🙏
Hey! So I’m saying this from the context of hoping you’re happy. I feel like you create more content (but don’t necessarily vlog in a way that gives insight into your life) more so when you’re less happy. I don’t mean to sound like an asshole, but this is common in creators. Don’t let your career define or limit you, but don’t let a romantic relationship fence you in either. You are worthy of success professionally, in whatever field you choose. But don’t let a relationship dictate your professional choices. I don’t want to sound like you parent, but it does seem like that might be happening. I respect you. I respect your privacy. I hope you are happy and are living a fulfilling, meaningful life. All my love and hugs.
Relationships will come and go but your family will always stay. Your parents invested and sacrificed so much for you, you will never be able to repay them. This is definitely a cultural difference but I will never be selfish enough to run away from my family to live with a boy I just met
@@zizisisi LOL, I'm french dude. 😂 Everything she has experienced abroad, the financial security blanket that allowed her to do youtube instead of finding a job... all of this was thanks to her parents support. So yeah, I believe she is selfish.
@@Hoid. she's explained this i think, the videos were initially made as portfolio pieces to find a real job, they then picked up. Today she's without a doubt a millionaire in her own right. She can make her own decisions, including cutting toxic parents off. My husband did the same for me and today we couldn't be happier so it must be a valid way to go about this.
@@zizisisi I don't think you quite realize everything implied in what you're talking about. Her cultural background, her studies that cost hundreds of thousands, her rich friend group and the network she built, the fact that she could spend time building a portfolio on RUclips and traveling instead of waiting tables like all the other jobless graduates, the luxury of feeling like you can do what makes you happy instead of having to work to just survive... this is ALL thanks to her "toxic" parents that she qualified herself as very loving and supportive in past videos. She is talking like the most spoilt child I have ever seen. While most of us are surviving day to day, she flees to the other side of the world to "recalibrate" after an argument with her parents. This is so ridiculously dramatic and first world problematic, I can't....
I’m so happy that you’re following your heart and doing things that make you feel good. I come from and Asian family too and I understand how overbearing parents can be. Kudos to you girl and I hope things will turn out ok. Meantime, enjoy your stay. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Just finding your channel and wishing you all the best and happiness! Your content is fun to watch and relax to and I hope to see more of it soon! All the best from the USA!
Family is everything. I hope you and your parents will be good. Im sure all will work out but dont forget to see their point of view as well. As the people who had your back and worked for your life from day 1. One of the biggest cliches of “parents knowing better” or “thinking they always right” is based on more truth than we think. especially when we still young with little experience and wisdom.
@@christinalaipiano I dont think anyone would confuse this as those are two very different things. Im saying that generally, most of the time parents are right and most kids are clueless. Because they are kids. And parents used to be kids that became adults. Most kids realize this very late when they are adults and sometimes even only when they have their own kids. That their parents were mostly right and only wanted their best for them. Of course there is exceptions and toxic parents but in general parents know better than their kids about life.
Honestly, she needs to go low communication with her family for now. They have an issue with her partner's education and job. Not sure what she or he can do about it
You’re such a lovely human being! I appreciate the authenticity and rawness you put into your content, and it makes us all see the beauty of life with its ups and downs. Nothing is impossible when you have trust in yourself!
i sincerely hope you feel better soon dooby, these videos of yours fill me with so much joy, i absolutely adore you and so i wish you could feel as i do when i consume your content!! with you all the way
I know you’re going through it… Hang in there. It hurts when parents don’t accept your decisions, but remember to love them through it because their reasoning is from a fear of you getting hurt or not being safe. Hopefully, in the future, they will come around. So try not to harden your heart because life is short.
Hey Dooby! Hope you’re doing well! I always watch your vlogs the minute it uploads! I’m glad we finally got a half face and voice reveal of umbrella man! I wish you a happy and wonderful relationship and a good day, night, or afternoon!
as a man, I would never allow the person Im dating to argue with family over me. I would try my best to converse with them or some how reconcile. Life is too short to act stubborn or argue. Especially nowadays, hope all works out.
"Somehow reconcile" is the issue. If your parents think your partner is not good enough for you then should the partner be trying to change themselves to convince the parents? Eg: if the parents think the partner isn't educated enough or doesn't have a good enough job? Sounds exhausting
Tina, your struggle is our struggle as well♡ Yet you still manifested positivity TT how wholesome, you are a big boy, we won't worry much, i hope by the time you come back, things'll go well!! Also CONGRAAATSS for the Magazine Interview🥳
@@ShantiDoss2000 i dont think its jealosy i feel like they are simply want to find something to pick on. A lot of them think their opinion and their way of thinking is the absolute truth or the right thing and they just dont try to look from the other side. Your one of the coolest vloggers I always watch that I know ill never get bored. You are unique and beautiful in whatever you do. It's the same feeling I get when I indulge with Anthony Bourdain's No Reservation. Hope things get better with you and your family. Emotions and Rationality doesn't mix up very well when making decisions unlike with recipes you make.
When you asked him if he wanted a fork 😂 I went to Korea with a bunch of friends to visit a friend that lived in Seoul. We stopped at this restaurant and we were all enjoying our meals when this little auntie came over from the kitchen and quietly placed a fork next to my bowl. Needless to say my friends ROASTED me. I was practicing too! 🤣
Recalibrate away Tina! Gotta do you, focus on what makes you happy, follow your heart and all that jazz. I’m sure you’ll find it soon enough.. you got more than enough time. I’m glad you were able to escape a bit and have fun cause there’s no better time than your 20s. It’s sad when you don’t have family support.. it seems like you’re very close with them so hopefully that will shift as well and they will come to be more embracing/understanding? Idk lol. I’m smiling throughout this... excited for you too! This adventure was awesome and no matter what, I def appreciate all your realness haha Be merry and focus on these adventures and happy times, you earned it!!!💝

Enjoy your time away, but running away from your problems/issues will only manifest. Keep an open communication with your parents. Though it's difficult, they are your parents. Don't let anger take over because you don't want to have any regrets! All children/ young adults go through the same issues/problems as you with their parents. Parents want the best, so their children don't suffer as they did growing up. Please, just keep an open mind and communication with your parents ❤️

4:15 other than my mom, you're honestly the only other chef I look up to Tina. Like no joke, love how you don't take things too seriously, you seem to always have fun, things in life don't have to come out perfectly, and you remind us that it is okay to be alone. You're one of the reasons why I don't only try to be a better cook but also a better person :)
I think half the hate is directed towards her being so disconnected from normal average people, her saying of things like how she is not privileged compared to her much richer friends when she earns probably millions from youtube ruffled alot of feathers. The other half are just incels idiots who is jealous of her having a bf.
I see! It's appalling how somehow people have normalised hating on stars out of envy and disguise it as "calling out". ContraPoints has a really good video on this topic.

Why do you think the argument was about umbrella man?
I’m finding a lot of comfort in watching you and the relatability in the fact that both of us seem to be going through similar times and decisions in life right now (even the complications, other peoples expectations etc.) - also cool to see you out and about in my home country out of all places, when ive been watching your content for years 🇩🇰😊
Best wishes, I hope Denmark treats you well!
I wouldn't call Sweden Denmark LDR personally.
well when your partner lives a minimum of 11 hours of travel time away and you’re only able to see eachother once every 3 months , I’d say you’re wrong
@@hugothemaan 11 hours isn't that long of a trip.
That counts as long distance for me, but who am i to argue, im just the person living it, right? lol
@@zaixai9441 then what is.. from the north pole to the south pole?

Seeking independence, while facing opposition from family members, is never an easy task, she looks a little torn. But being completely authentic to oneself, is the true path to self-actualization! I am inclined to agree with your advice! \🕶/

If she loves her family, she will come to accept her families decision
@@DaestrumManitz It's not authentic to oneself if she imitates independence from her friends. She probably learn from her friends to live alone and imitate them. Imitating others is not authentic or being yourself

I hope that getting away is so so so so good:)
your vlogs are the only things helping my mental health right now. thanks for the post. i love how open and honest you are.

We Doobies appreciate your open-ness with us no matter what. Looking forward to mooooooooooooore videos of you with umbrella man :D

Missed your vlogs! Thank you for posting and hope you’re enjoying Denmark!
Your life is YOURS and no one else’s! It makes me heart so full when I see people living for themselves❤️
That's the difference between advanced countries and developing countries. Advanced world understands that children have their own lives.
Yeah family’s love is unconditional. She appears naive to just run off with this guy

One of the biggest cliches of “parents knowing better” or “thinking they always right” is based on more truth than we think. especially when we still young with little experience and wisdom.
Be careful of confusing "parents knowing better" with parents being toxic
@@christinalaipiano
I dont think anyone would confuse this as those are two very different things.

You're a mature one
"Somehow reconcile" is the issue. If your parents think your partner is not good enough for you then should the partner be trying to change themselves to convince the parents? Eg: if the parents think the partner isn't educated enough or doesn't have a good enough job? Sounds exhausting

If a cool and smart person like Tina can get affected by hate comments then all hope is lost. Why do people have to be so nasty.
I think half the hate is directed towards her being so disconnected from normal average people, her saying of things like how she is not privileged compared to her much richer friends when she earns probably millions from youtube ruffled alot of feathers. The other half are just incels idiots who is jealous of her having a bf.
