If you wanna talk about poorly designed fights, the 1st Cell Max fight was probably the worst it’s ever been in terms of artificial difficulty. Back then, only a handful of teams even had a chance of completing the event, with most requiring the use of the TEQ Androids or AGL Pikkon just for a Ghost Usher. It was not enjoyable at all, because 90% of the fight was entirely RNG dependent.
Stage 1 of Cell Max event right? I remember I was very lucky in pulling Orange Piccolo on my last summon on JP so that I could beat Cell Max, cause DAMN that shit was crazy.
I remember seeing the producer talking about that fight, it was supposed to be as dreadful as it was to give the same experience as they had fighting him in the movie
I was using Units like int blue evo vegeta for his revive and phy f2p Goku/gohan for their dodges, It was probably the most fun i ever had in this game since i could try an actually difficult fight with as many teams and combinations as i want thanks to unlimited attempts, i wish all stages had unlimited attempts
Honestly you're right. It seems like the unintended consequence of the power creep we've seen these past couple of years is rearing its head. The developers are scrambling to make events hard in a numerical sense, all the while neglecting the "fun" aspect of Dokkan Battle. You should be able to experiment with different teams and different units, but the newest events are pigeonholing most players into relying on the latest and greatest new releases and EZAs. I'm glad I stopped playing. The state of the game currently is exactly what I don't like about gacha games.
yo event levels have been just fine, it might hell at times but its still fun, for example, the new beast gohan fight on global is pretty fun but still difficult
Yeah I also think that how they manage powercreep is what kills the fun of the game. They should find the balance of creating fun and challenging events while also not making your progression useless. Thats the main reason I uninstalled Legends, and dokkan is going through the same road since there isnt much reason to play when you know everything you achieved will become useless once powercreep reset hits.

I didn't manage to pull Beast nor the Gammas, and OP locking or Beast ridiculously hard supers, or even catching strays with units I couldn't hide enough makes a 20min run go down the drain. Sorry but the only thing that actually sucks about the game are 1 phase fights. They always come out the gate strong as hell and even if you do win, you barely get to see the units in action. Actually unfun and boring
i just hate how they dropped beast gohan and now he's the minimum you (and they) want a new unit to be... i used broly for the gammas memorial mission. it was absolutely unbearable, with transformed broly taking 700k from a super. it's not even the hardest fight in this celebration. i used the new 18 and krilling, only for them to take 300k from a normal and die. i pulled gt duo on a dupe and they were taking 100k fully built up, post three supers. whats the point of summoning for units, if 90% of the banner is unusable trash, beacuse they decided to drop a boss that does 4mil sa and needs attack stats of 15 mil+ to even put a dent? i expect wwc once again to be absolutely unbearable, just like last year. make another aoe fight, crank up the normals to 1 mil and have less than 1% of units in the game be actually able to maybe win, unless the amazing rng aspect of the game forces you to eat a super before you're able to do anything...

I remember when INT Vegeta and Trunks first released and completely dominated the game and I didnt manage to pull them. I was out of the game for the most time beceause the 7th anni units were not that useful after cell max got release. I mean you could manage it but it would take you alot of tries. My point is: I was locked out of most events, couldnt farm stones anymore (except ezas) and was completely missing out the new content. Its flawed and they wont fix it.
Simple, just buy stones (Not saying I do but since I’m out of getting a stones, yes I even did all the EZA’s, I haven’t been able to summon and living off the stones they give)

I think every new hard event from GOD event back at 6th up to 9th was fine EXCEPT Goku and Frieza. Sure, Beast and Piccolo is hard but you can beat that fight with like 20 different categories and 100 different units. However, i also think we should go back to normals doing actual damage, not double digits every time but if you get supered in a bad spot its an instakill. The enemy is slowly killing you. But thats almost impossible to reverse with all the regen abilities now, you basically only get oneshot or two shot nowadays.
This exactly an honest review of Dokkan's events. Sure, many of the events are difficult level events, but they have released many events that aren't the peak of difficulty: the new girls event, the remade gods events, etc. Also, they have created very busted EZA's who help significantly with the difficult events. And these EZA's are units that veteran players or players who summon on major celebration banners should have. Additionally, bear in mind that no one is forced to play the game. If you don't like the direction of the game, stop playing. Also, it is a gacha game. Units that dominate events sell better, and Dokkan creates the "need" for those units by make difficult events. At the end of the day, it is a business designed to make money.
Honestly, facing str broly with the wicked bloodline team in the "thrilling" battle event was soul crushing, I defeated him around turn 16 due to only str cooler having the ability to dmg him with crits
Yeah, I fortunately have most of the good saiyan saga units (str gohan/piccolo; agl nappa and vegeta; teq vegeta; str kaioken goku and yamcha) and I barely managed to survive with a quiver of hp, idk how someone who has been saving would be able to the mission
The problem I have with dokkan and especially legends is that powercreep renders 95% of the other units in your box completely useless. You’re hyped for the character only for them to not be relevant later on. Your entire playing experience when it comes to difficult content in dokkan or pvp for legends is solely based on rng. In dokkan if you don’t pull the new hottest units you literally can’t beat the difficult content. I did pull all the 9th anni units on global except for the gammas and I still feel like it’s hard to enjoy a game that is completely reliant on random numbers. This is why the game mainly makes its money off animations and how cool the characters are, because it sure isn’t successful based on the gameplay.
I don't play legends but you are wrong about dokkan tho you never need the newest units, newest units make your life easier but you always can beat the newest events with older units one way or another even if it will take you multiple tries, the only moment i can think of being possibly impossible to do without the newest units (tho its still probably not true) is redzone broly on release but that was the biggest powercreep in this Game's history so yeah, if you cant beat new events without new units then its a skill issue if anything..

Dokkan doesn’t have a pity system for dokkan fest units or carnival units, which are the required units to beat supreme battle spectacle stages and red zone. You cannot beat those fights with f2p units. It all comes down to numbers and that’s my problem. The summoning feels great until you used 1500 stones and didn’t pull the units you wanted, and then find out that someone pulled the unit first multi. I pulled lr broly on the second multi and beast on my 3rd. Other people are upset and might stop playing if they don’t pull them easily like I did.

Well, if all the bosses are the same (They don't use the mechanics you mentioned such as Dodge canceling, million damage, million defense. AoEs, double super, infinite hp) the game is also unfun the way it's dislikable when you cannot come close to defeating a boss

Thank god im not the only one who thinks this game has been getting unfun passively. Events are getting too ridiculous at this point just nullifying all status effecting characters WHILE dishing out 1 mill normals into 5 million supers. Older units are just phasing in 1 to 2 months time (goes to show the ezas and subezas are not enough or just plain awful). Power creep is getting out of hand now like WTF bro my gt duo and z duo (both at 79%) can barely survive 5 normals or a super fully built up in the last phase.
Dokkan needs to add different missions for different teams or conditions to actually make it fun. Not this shit where every celebration the newest unit is always top 1

Got the first 2 but i have a decent amount of units but I kid you not I run solid 200% percent leads with some solid units but some just can’t hang long enough especially there guards, but who the heck can survive the gammas 2m+ super or anyone in the the events that’s were I’m getting frustrated with the new events I damn near loose all my hp with a two single atks or just strait up death like we’re is the fun in that?
Have you tried the teams that were relevant right before ani? Teq vegeta, agl ssj3, and int buu? I beat everything out right now with mbs and it wasn’t even that bad

Its a Gachagame... Powercreep is normal and with eza´s / Seza´s older units will get revied sooner or later... Also they release every type of Content, like the legendary Frieza event, IDBH, Battlefield, SBR / ESBR, The new Domain events, now the god bussrush stages and so on. these can easily be beaten without heaving the best new units. If You could beat all fights by griding a F2P unit that can stun, noone would spent Money and that is what they are after... so for conclusion i dont think there is a Problem, we have got so much Content nowadays (Hard, middle and light) that noone needs to complain about one or two fights beeing to difficult... Also with a Beast lvl 147 its obvious your going to struggle xD

In some of the hardest fights in the game, you can attack lower, defense lower, seal and stun the bosses. The devs made it clear that they want certain units to dominate certain events. You’re complaining about an event you haven’t tried yet (of the best characters to bring into that event, 2 of them of anniversary units that have been spammed on multiple high value banners). I understand the sentiment that it’s looks ridiculous seeing the power creep from a far, but you have to understand that dokkan is giving us units that can handle said events. They aren’t dropping Agl vegito blue that does 2 million attack stats against fusion Zamasu, a boss that has a damage threshold; they are dropping units that turn the bosses into putty, and giving us strong EZAs to help with that. Dokkan is a slippery slope of a game, so you have to be wise in how you spend your stones to get what’s going to help you the most. If you’re not enjoying the game, then don’t play. It’s fine if you want to take a break from it. They gave us strong units to beat strong bosses. It is what it is.
JP Dokkan and Global Dokkan should release more content for EVERYONE. NEWER players should be able to enjoy the game without being hit with only hard content constantly being released

One second you are saying you don't want to figure out rotations because the game is supposed to be played on the go and it would take too long, and then you say you liked it more when you had teams that cheesed fights to take longer? I don't think having to cheese fights with debuffs make the events better. I also don't think they need to design these hard events for old teams to beat when most of the rewards in the game are not even in these events. I think the new events are there to showcase old units and I don't see the problem.

I’ve been pretty much f2p majority of my time playing this game and only spent a small amount of money on it here and there. I never had issues with beating hard events and majority of their missions, however the meta right now is horrendous and only a couple of teams can compete, I have a huge issue with supreme battle spectacle beast gohan on global. Some of the missions are straight up impossible to beat, the fight has so many rng factors and annoying gimmicks it’s disgusting and really frustrating. Beating it with a full colour extreme team is nearly impossible to do. Extreme str is straight up useless on global rn for example
this has always been a thing, wah power creep wahhh at least this year we have good characters imagine being in 2020-2021 or 2016 when they released no characters or good ezas to deal with any power creep

Honestly as a PVE game .... dokkan handle the meta so BAD Games like FGO have freaking units from their release and they can put work provided you have the right support servent for them or heck even without support they can put work Even BA have many good units from their release with out Upgrade for them (eza for example) But dokkan the difficulty is just increasing numbers....and now they added the TAKING 0 DMG IF YOU CANNOT EXCEED 10M CRIT Which render many characters useless and make the new fight beatable with ONLY 3 or 5 teams at most which make many players only play this fight only once or two, knowing if they used other teams they cannot beat it Not to mention the game doesn't have a proper pity so if you get shafted.....good luck having fun lol

The problem is you need your characters to at LEAST be 2 dupes if you wanna survive the Meta (excluding beast) it’s just how hard these bosses hit and you can’t do anything because if you have characters that are incapable of tanking or dodging. Especially if the hardest fight in the game is hitting for 5.7 million. If your lucky with summons then your guaranteed to go through with the game, hell you can run a full eza team. However if you don’t have any of the new eza’s or units, your quite legit forced to run the same team over and over again to get through events. The thing that made Dokkan fun was how much variety you can do with teams and every role they have with the team. I can definitely see what this guy is coming from because if the boss seals, stuns, lowers atk and def. Then there is nothing you can do, this is coming from a person who has most of the new units and the game just feels like a breeze to get through.

Having to use the same characters in every event to hit number criteria just to get one shot by an unlucky super is not. Fun. Not being able to experiment and try different teams in the new content because NOTHING can stack up to the raw damage of these new bosses or because they can’t do 10 million damage is not. Fun. What happens when you don’t pull Beast? When you don’t pull Teq UI or the 6 year LR’s? You don’t even get the opportunity to play the game. That is the issue. Dokkan is making 99% of their game irrelevant by forcing you to use a select pool of incredibly strong units in INCREDIBLY difficult content
Nahh newer content just isnt that fun to play and we have much much less flexibility in trying new teams. You either use the top meta teams on the game or lose. But in the past hard events could be beaten with weaker units just with more attempts.

It's pointless when you need items to reduce damage receive to even stand a chance in these new events. Senzu beans alone is too risky to use now.

I remember when INT Vegeta and Trunks first released and completely dominated the game and I didnt manage to pull them. I was out of the game for the most time beceause the 7th anni units were not that useful after cell max got release. I mean you could manage it but it would take you alot of tries. My point is: I was locked out of most events, couldnt farm stones anymore (except ezas) and was completely missing out the new content. Its flawed and they wont fix it.
Simple, just buy stones (Not saying I do but since I’m out of getting a stones, yes I even did all the EZA’s, I haven’t been able to summon and living off the stones they give)

I think every new hard event from GOD event back at 6th up to 9th was fine EXCEPT Goku and Frieza. Sure, Beast and Piccolo is hard but you can beat that fight with like 20 different categories and 100 different units.
However, i also think we should go back to normals doing actual damage, not double digits every time but if you get supered in a bad spot its an instakill. The enemy is slowly killing you. But thats almost impossible to reverse with all the regen abilities now, you basically only get oneshot or two shot nowadays.
This exactly an honest review of Dokkan's events. Sure, many of the events are difficult level events, but they have released many events that aren't the peak of difficulty: the new girls event, the remade gods events, etc. Also, they have created very busted EZA's who help significantly with the difficult events. And these EZA's are units that veteran players or players who summon on major celebration banners should have.
Additionally, bear in mind that no one is forced to play the game. If you don't like the direction of the game, stop playing. Also, it is a gacha game. Units that dominate events sell better, and Dokkan creates the "need" for those units by make difficult events. At the end of the day, it is a business designed to make money.
Honestly, facing str broly with the wicked bloodline team in the "thrilling" battle event was soul crushing, I defeated him around turn 16 due to only str cooler having the ability to dmg him with crits
This one was fine for me, same experience as you with a lot less turns.
SAIYAN SAGA ON THE OTHER HAND
Yeah, I fortunately have most of the good saiyan saga units (str gohan/piccolo; agl nappa and vegeta; teq vegeta; str kaioken goku and yamcha) and I barely managed to survive with a quiver of hp, idk how someone who has been saving would be able to the mission
The problem I have with dokkan and especially legends is that powercreep renders 95% of the other units in your box completely useless. You’re hyped for the character only for them to not be relevant later on. Your entire playing experience when it comes to difficult content in dokkan or pvp for legends is solely based on rng. In dokkan if you don’t pull the new hottest units you literally can’t beat the difficult content. I did pull all the 9th anni units on global except for the gammas and I still feel like it’s hard to enjoy a game that is completely reliant on random numbers. This is why the game mainly makes its money off animations and how cool the characters are, because it sure isn’t successful based on the gameplay.
I don't play legends but you are wrong about dokkan tho you never need the newest units, newest units make your life easier but you always can beat the newest events with older units one way or another even if it will take you multiple tries, the only moment i can think of being possibly impossible to do without the newest units (tho its still probably not true) is redzone broly on release but that was the biggest powercreep in this Game's history so yeah, if you cant beat new events without new units then its a skill issue if anything..

I’m just explaining my problems with this game and some other gacha games as a whole. Sure there is some skill involved but the game is unplayable without summoning. Dokkan doesn’t have a pity system for dokkan fest units or carnival units, which are the required units to beat supreme battle spectacle stages and red zone. You cannot beat those fights with f2p units. It all comes down to numbers and that’s my problem. The summoning feels great until you used 1500 stones and didn’t pull the units you wanted, and then find out that someone pulled the unit first multi. I pulled lr broly on the second multi and beast on my 3rd. Other people are upset and might stop playing if they don’t pull them easily like I did.

remember when you could do any event with f2p Units, it just took longer? Those were the days. Since that method is gone because of huge power creep every 6 months, the Game forces you to have the newest top Tier Unit or you won't beat the hardest stages.

Well, if all the bosses are the same (They don't use the mechanics you mentioned such as Dodge canceling, million damage, million defense. AoEs, double super, infinite hp) the game is also unfun the way it's dislikable when you cannot come close to defeating a boss
Its about balance. Not every endgame boss needs to be the same. Ultimate Clash does a good job of balancing bosses and providing a mechanic weakness in the form of being able to stun, seal, or attack down etc. The point is to have some nuance,

Thank god im not the only one who thinks this game has been getting unfun passively. Events are getting too ridiculous at this point just nullifying all status effecting characters WHILE dishing out 1 mill normals into 5 million supers. Older units are just phasing in 1 to 2 months time (goes to show the ezas and subezas are not enough or just plain awful). Power creep is getting out of hand now like WTF bro my gt duo and z duo (both at 79%) can barely survive 5 normals or a super fully built up in the last phase.

Finally someone says it I was unfortunate and didn’t pull beast or gammas. Got the first 2 but i have a decent amount of units but I kid you not I run solid 200% percent leads with some solid units but some just can’t hang long enough especially there guards, but who the heck can survive the gammas 2m+ super or anyone in the the events that’s were I’m getting frustrated with the new events I damn near loose all my hp with a two single atks or just strait up death like we’re is the fun in that?

Its a Gachagame... Powercreep is normal and with eza´s / Seza´s older units will get revied sooner or later...
Also they release every type of Content, like the legendary Frieza event, IDBH, Battlefield, SBR / ESBR, The new Domain events, now the god bussrush stages and so on. these can easily be beaten without heaving the best new units.
If You could beat all fights by griding a F2P unit that can stun, noone would spent Money and that is what they are after...
so for conclusion i dont think there is a Problem, we have got so much Content nowadays (Hard, middle and light) that noone needs to complain about one or two fights beeing to difficult...

In some of the hardest fights in the game, you can attack lower, defense lower, seal and stun the bosses. The devs made it clear that they want certain units to dominate certain events. You’re complaining about an event you haven’t tried yet (of the best characters to bring into that event, 2 of them of anniversary units that have been spammed on multiple high value banners). I understand the sentiment that it’s looks ridiculous seeing the power creep from a far, but you have to understand that dokkan is giving us units that can handle said events. They aren’t dropping Agl vegito blue that does 2 million attack stats against fusion Zamasu, a boss that has a damage threshold; they are dropping units that turn the bosses into putty, and giving us strong EZAs to help with that. Dokkan is a slippery slope of a game, so you have to be wise in how you spend your stones to get what’s going to help you the most.
If you’re not enjoying the game, then don’t play. It’s fine if you want to take a break from it. They gave us strong units to beat strong bosses. It is what it is.

JP Dokkan and Global Dokkan should release more content for EVERYONE. NEWER players should be able to enjoy the game without being hit with only hard content constantly being released
I must be misunderstanding. One second you are saying you don't want to figure out rotations because the game is supposed to be played on the go and it would take too long, and then you say you liked it more when you had teams that cheesed fights to take longer? I don't think having to cheese fights with debuffs make the events better. I also don't think they need to design these hard events for old teams to beat when most of the rewards in the game are not even in these events. I think the new events are there to showcase old units and I don't see the problem.

I’ve been pretty much f2p majority of my time playing this game and only spent a small amount of money on it here and there. I never had issues with beating hard events and majority of their missions, however the meta right now is horrendous and only a couple of teams can compete, I have a huge issue with supreme battle spectacle beast gohan on global. Some of the missions are straight up impossible to beat, the fight has so many rng factors and annoying gimmicks it’s disgusting and really frustrating. Beating it with a full colour extreme team is nearly impossible to do. Extreme str is straight up useless on global rn for example

Which render many characters useless and make the new fight beatable with ONLY 3 or 5 teams at most which make many players only play this fight only once or two, knowing if they used other teams they cannot beat it

The problem is you need your characters to at LEAST be 2 dupes if you wanna survive the Meta (excluding beast) it’s just how hard these bosses hit and you can’t do anything because if you have characters that are incapable of tanking or dodging. Especially if the hardest fight in the game is hitting for 5.7 million. If your lucky with summons then your guaranteed to go through with the game, hell you can run a full eza team. However if you don’t have any of the new eza’s
or units, your quite legit forced to run the same team over and over again to get through events. The thing that made Dokkan fun was how much variety you can do with teams and every role they have with the team. I can definitely see what this guy is coming from because if the boss seals, stuns, lowers atk and def. Then there is nothing you can do, this is coming from a person who has most of the new units and the game just feels like a breeze to get through.
Why would anyone want to repeat old content forever with the characters they enjoy? You’re missing the point. The game in its current state is not fun. Having to use the same characters in every event to hit number criteria just to get one shot by an unlucky super is not. Fun. Not being able to experiment and try different teams in the new content because NOTHING can stack up to the raw damage of these new bosses or because they can’t do 10 million damage is not. Fun. What happens when you don’t pull Beast? When you don’t pull Teq UI or the 6 year LR’s? You don’t even get the opportunity to play the game. That is the issue. Dokkan is making 99% of their game irrelevant by forcing you to use a select pool of incredibly strong units in INCREDIBLY difficult content
Nahh newer content just isnt that fun to play and we have much much less flexibility in trying new teams. You either use the top meta teams on the game or lose. But in the past hard events could be beaten with weaker units just with more attempts.

The games don't compare at all, the gameplay is completely different, in dark souls different builds are viable unlike dokkan where some events are unbeatable unless you run meta teams and have meta units.
