There was a Nyjah documentary that was planned for release right after the Olympics if he won or medaled. He unfortunately did not medal so the Ty Evans doc never was released but his Shine On part was supposed to be with that doc. Would really like to to see that and hope they complete it at some point. Maybe extend it until his retirement so we see all his achievements! Definitely need more docs on top skaters because many are interesting dudes (Evan Smith, Yuto, Decenzo, etc.).

Then get back out there. You are either 100% skateboarder or you're not. I'm in my 50's and started skateboarding in 1977. With no breaks. End your break my man.
I 100% agree bro. I started skating at 5 and it was the funnest thing ever! Tore some cartilage at 19 and had to stop skating. Thought about getting back out there and then tore cartilage in my other knee at 22 and doctors said I couldn’t even run or jump off things. Really don’t wanna risk it but life got a lot less fun and happy after not being able to skate. I still watch the videos too

Shecks has been in the prelims of SLS this year so that’s great to see. He’s put down a few hammers but I doubt he still has it in him to qualify. I remember early SLS days (2nd or 3rd year) when Shecks was competing with Nyjah for wins. He was really close to winning one which very few skaters can say. That full cab flip off the hip to drop is one of most legendary contest tricks ever! Dude is so fun to watch, similar to Joslin. Speed, energy, big and the crowd loves him.

Thank you for skateboarding Ryan Sheckler!
Such a good watch, Sheckler is one of the GOATs for sure. Love him or hate him, there's no denying it. Side note - Love how much of a gentleman Rowley is. When the definition of gnar is speaking highly of you, bringing your board for you and running to you for a hug after sticking the make, you know you're rated in the skate world.
Ryan Sheckler is a monster. I'm from Brazil and I've been following him since 2006 when I started skating and I bought my first dvd which was almost round 3 and since then I've never stopped following his trajectory. This documentary is one of the best I've seen about skateboarders. I'm a big fan. One of the best skaters of all time. Legend 🔥🔥🔥
48 years young, and I'm still progressing at skateboarding. Still pushing my limits. Still inspiring others to improve. Still hanging with the homies. Still loving the pain with the gain. This film has inspired me to push even further along. Keep pushing, brothers and sisters. Keep pushing onward and forward.
No doubt this dude is special. I pray for his body to heal and be protected from the damage it has taken over the years. It adds up with age and getting older is no joke. We need him healthy and around for a long time to come but of course not nearly as much as his beautiful young family does and will. Stay healthy from here on out Ryan. You've more than earned the right.
Hell yeah makes me so happy and emotional nobody in skateboarding deserves this more then Ryan a goat a legend and a skateboarder ❤️ thanks for sharing your heart bro
As a kid I was scared of a lot of things until I started skateboarding. I got better and went bigger and fear was a different thing. It became something I could conquer. I didn’t fear bullies because the concrete hit way harder then they could. It taught a high amount of perseverance and achievement I never knew. Skateboarding shaped who I am today and I highly recommend it. Outside of breaking my tibia and fibula on two separate occasions it gave me more than it took from me.
I can't forget me as a teenage boy seeing this young man jumping off big stairs as it was just nothing and get some much courage and inspiration to ollie the sidewalk 50 cm's out of my house . Thank you so much Ryan.
I sitll as a skateboarder of 20 years still cant handle watching that Face Melters crash. Shecks is still one of the best out there doing it. And I'm so hyped on this vidoe part. Keep shredding Sheckler!!! Much love and respect.
Ryan you’ve always been the man always will be. Change one person or one persons perspective you’ve changed someone else’s world. What more could you do.
Mad respect to this man. Been watching his parts for almost 20 years, did not expect him to put a new one out. He's already accomplished greatness in this sport. Just shows how much passion he has for skateboarding.
That tail drop into the freeway was one of the gnarliest things ive ever seen and the fact he did it at ther exact moment that van was going past is so fucking spooky
Been a great time watching The Nine Club promote this and get to tune into Ryans world! congrats everyone! Loved having this documentary to follow right behind the new LIFER part! soak it up Ryan
That was bad ass. I'm 46 years old and fell in love with skateboarding as a young kid. Even though I haven't skated for years it's still in my blood. Videos like this bring back the magic feeling of what it is to be a SKATER!
Broke my ankle while riding a about a month ago and it has tone the toughest thing I’ve ever gone thru. This has gave me so much motivation to recover and become better. This has to be one of the greatest documentaries I’ve ever watched.
Best way I could put it as an old skateboarder is Sheck's sold out and then bought back in and showed he's in it for skateboarding for real. Good Story arc, glad to see him doing the real thing we call skateboarding and representing it.
@@zmohan69 Now a days I agree with you but back in the day "selling out" was shunned by skaters. Society looked down on skaters so hard that it felt wrong to enter their mainstream circles, so Life of Ryan or whatever the show was called soured some feelings in that time era.
The quality of this video... unreal. Very moved by this as I sit here with my knee brace on, minor LCL injury from doing the simplest things at a park. We need more videos like this! Ryan is an absolute beast! Skateboarders are insane - to go after life to the fullest, that is what I see. For you Ryan - John 10:10. Well done and keep rolling away!
As a kid i was told to hate Sheckler. When he started busting out real tricks i had to give him respect. Being the same age as Ryan i have so much respect for him today. No way would i skate like he is today. I’ve toned it down and just skate parks for fun. Mad respect Ryan. Haters hate what they gave up on.
Never knew he had so much hate from people when he was growning up. Sheckler has ALWAYS been a legend in my books. Always inspired me to shred big gaps when I was growing up myself. Being 14 dominating Men’s competition 🔥
The kid can take some pain that's for sure! Really difficult to recover and maintain that same energy for a video part but he managed to make it happen! GOAT at dropping hammers.
I am turning 28 in a couple months. All my life I've been amazed by those guys who inspired me to start skating when i was a kid. Thank you for everything ♥
Years and years ago, I was skating a park in Temecula, Ca. Someone said "Oh Sheckler is here." And I see this little kid just shredding the park. I couldn't believe what that kid was doing. Makes me happy the man he's turned into.
I got to skate with ryan an pj ladd at plan B demo at the vans Orlando park at the time. Ryan was nice an humble. He introduced me to him. Hey man I'm Ryan... Truly a great dude
As a 90’s and early 00’s skater, Sheckler only entered my circle of skating awareness on the periphery and only once I’d stopped skateboarding. For whatever reason, that awareness was of a sell out, someone who didn’t represent skateboarding. I don’t know why that was, however I do know that I belonged to the misfit part of society and my skateboarding friends and I were fringe dwellers without a doubt - a band of different and unusual people who found a bond in not only skateboarding but in being different. Fast forward nearly two decades and I feel privileged that Sheckler not only still skates, but that he committed himself with such intensity to showing just how good a skater he is - a skater with such inexplicable strength of mind and body matched with unbelievable talent and determination. It’s only now I realise that’s what bonds ALL skateboarders - the desire to throw ourselves into a trick, time and time again, even when It beats us up. That, is what it means to be a skateboarder and that, is what Ryan Sheckler is.
Ryan was ALWAYS that one kid EVERYONE hated on but always wanted to be 🛹 Congrats Ryan glad to see ya back on your board an killin it like you ALWAYS have! Amazing video 🤙🏻
I've been skateboarding and (mostly now) just watching skate videos for the last 28 years of my life and that's honestly the best piece of video I've ever seen. What a legend.
I'm 39 years old now, and I have to admit that I was one of the haters back when he came up with all the MTV stuff and ripping through contests. But man, he has my respect dude. This guy is a beast! And his style is undeniable! Every trick he does is so clean it's insane! Big up Ryan! Edit: True skateboarding legend IMO! Love you Ryan!
The skaters who have gotten mega fame Sheckler, Hawk, Nyjah did some of the gnarliest stuff after they had enough money where they could just chill back. They don't though, because they are real skaters that chase that rush and want/need to progress to be happy. That's true passion and love for their craft and it should always be highlighted and praised. This is a great piece. Made me wanna skate right now!
Had the opportunity to watch him boardslide this long gnarly handrail here in Miami , his perseverance is like nobody else , I can see how he’s still going , Ryan is skateboarding, what the world expects of skating nowadays is Ryan’s skating, much love Ryan!!❤
First met Ryan when I took a skate trip to Vancouver in 2003 for the Slam City Jam... and he WON it. I believe he was only 13. Awesome trip. Stoked for him then. Stoked for him now.
Anything that does with sheckler I’m all over it, this man has been my fav skater since I was a kid, thank you Tony hawks proving ground, the game that introduced me to this kid, ry has came so far,
I spent 2 & 1/2 years on a board before fate dealt me an injury that sent me down another path. That was almost 20years ago but I still think about it and still miss it. Those are some of the 1st memories of accomplishing an impossible feat and building bonds with fellow skaters. I envy people like Ryan who are so talented on the board and have been doing it for so long. I can relate to the pain and the mental trauma of getting back on the board after surgery and how your brain wants to prevent you from going through another injury but your heart wants you to keep going. I see the talent and how far it's progressed and it blows my mind. For those of you how are in it man enjoy every bit of it.
Man hearing about how Ryan wasn't accepted hurt, cause I was one of those kids that thought comps were jock or w/e. The truth of it I think, is we were older and jealous. I think that's really it. All the respect in the world for him now.
I just now seen this for the first as a man who doesnt skate anymore im very proud of sheckler and how far he has come from all the b.s. people said back in the day. I was one of em for sure. Glad to see this man grow with skateboarding
Ryan you still are the man bro I remember seeing him when he was a kid and then I wanted to be like him I quit skating I’m a father at 31 years old and I still love to watch him skate i appreciate you Ryan!
50 years old here. And I still say that's a great spot to skating. Might not go as hard anymore, but finding spots and skating them is the essence of skateboards

We love you Ryan Sheckler 💯❤️🛹❤️🔥🙏
🙌 One of the true greats in skateboarding, thanks Sheckler for the years of epicness, and heres to many more.
Been skating since 83, this was unbelievably gnarly and inspiring. Sheckler is an animal and has some top notch surgeons.
Awesome to see this living legend getting flowers, or whatever the cool way to say that is nowadays.
Admire how true to himself he is.
I remember him as a kid .....he's come so far!! skating has changed so much in 20yrs!!! Props to all you skaters still going hard asf!!! much ❤️.
Hell yeah makes me so happy and emotional nobody in skateboarding deserves this more then Ryan a goat a legend and a skateboarder ❤️ thanks for sharing your heart bro
I also agree with you on this point too❤😊
As a kid I was scared of a lot of things until I started skateboarding.
One of the best documentaries that actually explains the madness in which we all go through every time we go out skating
I can't forget me as a teenage boy seeing this young man jumping off big stairs as it was just nothing and get some much courage and inspiration to ollie the sidewalk 50 cm's out of my house . Thank you so much Ryan.
This documentary was so sick! So happy to see Ryan still absolutely destroying streets🤘🏼🔥🛹
I sitll as a skateboarder of 20 years still cant handle watching that Face Melters crash. Shecks is still one of the best out there doing it. And I'm so hyped on this vidoe part. Keep shredding Sheckler!!! Much love and respect.
I used to watch that costco kickflip everyday! Such a legendary clip. So happy Shecks is doing well! ❤
I'm from Germany..and watch Ryan skating till i'm 15years old. That was in 2008! Best Dude ever.
Grüsse aus Nordrhein-Westfalen🤙
Ryan you’ve always been the man always will be. Change one person or one persons perspective you’ve changed someone else’s world. What more could you do.
42:26 so great to see that you and Casey are still friends 🙏🔥
The G.O.A.T in my mind, he is the true definition of relentlessness and determination and fight, never backing down. God Bless you Ryan 🤘🏻
I have even more respect for Ryan after watching this and I already had mad respect for him prior to this
Mad respect to this man.
Costco kickflip is still legendary, Ryan is too sick, dude rips
Broke my ankle while riding a about a month ago and it has tone the toughest thing I’ve ever gone thru. This has gave me so much motivation to recover and become better. This has to be one of the greatest documentaries I’ve ever watched.
Best way I could put it as an old skateboarder is Sheck's sold out and then bought back in and showed he's in it for skateboarding for real. Good Story arc, glad to see him doing the real thing we call skateboarding and representing it.
He always was. No such thing as selling out. Skating will always be skating. Some just know how to live well doing it.
@@zmohan69 Now a days I agree with you but back in the day "selling out" was shunned by skaters. Society looked down on skaters so hard that it felt wrong to enter their mainstream circles, so Life of Ryan or whatever the show was called soured some feelings in that time era.
Thank you, Ira!
Really good vid, glad to see a lot of OG legends adding their perspective as well!
Props Ryan. You’re an amazing human and skater. You’ve inspired me throughout my life & I’m proud of you. God bless.
Ryan is simply too good. He makes everything look so easy while also doing some of the hardest tricks out there.
Not only did Bachinsky kf El Toro after hitting his head really hard, he did it on a 7.5
this comment is underrated
@@nearlong8927 Thanks, but it’s not me that’s underrated, that would be Bachinsky.
Absolutely fucked 💪
I've been searching for that perfect board size my whole adult life and all so thank you for clarifying, that trick was badass.
Incredible doc! Really well produced. Ryan is a beast! Cheers!
SHECKLERRRRRRRRR THE 🐐 OF SKATEBOARDING 🛹
He’s inspirational af
That, is what it means to be a skateboarder and that, is what Ryan Sheckler is.
they are either angry because they cant do it or they are angry because they didnt think of it first. thats it
Ryan was ALWAYS that one kid EVERYONE hated on but always wanted to be 🛹
Congrats Ryan glad to see ya back on your board an killin it like you ALWAYS have!
Amazing video 🤙🏻
Sheckler is rad.
But that woke “toxic masculinity” part is cringe.
I've been skateboarding and (mostly now) just watching skate videos for the last 28 years of my life and that's honestly the best piece of video I've ever seen. What a legend.
Nora can’t explain nothing without toxic masculinity
I have watched this a few times. And I still cry watching it. So proud of you!! From a Ryan. To a Ryan. You are the best Ryan lol 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
toxic masculinity what?
The only toxic masculinity is that...chick's?...jawline. The ones that complain about that always look like dudes.
Ryan is inspirational when he said I've been in pain most of my life i don't need pain killers i felt that tnx for showcasing one of the goats
When miss toxic femininity said toxic masculinity it was over.
Finally Ryan takes the respect he always deserved!
He’s one of the last bigger true skaters around the globe!
Im 29 and been with ryan the whole time this was truly an insprition to watch
Sheckler is the reason I grew up skating. Some of the best memories I have. Cool to see this story
Man hearing about how Ryan wasn't accepted hurt, cause I was one of those kids that thought comps were jock or w/e. The truth of it I think, is we were older and jealous. I think that's really it. All the respect in the world for him now.
Sheckler is one of the best to ever do it! This dude has lived the life every kid who loves skating dreams of.
Might not go as hard anymore, but finding spots and skating them is the essence of skateboards
love hearing the horns when he lands it... good to see the public recognizing incredibleness of this last trick
