did this wall in 10 hours, 1n1. Had my mate (the joiner previously mentioned in many of my videos) spreading and mixing for me💪
Nice work mate. It's been a long time since I laid any ot these 👍👍👍
Ive never layed them bloody things mate .A fair chunk of wall and you've done a good job there in that water and mud .
Enjoy the weekend mate
Justin brickright 👍
You've dodged a bullet there then mate! Thanks alot Justin! Hope you and the lads are well! Enjoy yours too buddy😄🍻
@@IzzytheBricky
Look a pain in the arse to bed up izzy .You smashed it though. Enjoy the weekend mate 👍
Just something about new tools that makes us smile
Some hard graft those bad boys great work
Needed something to make me smile on that day! Thanks Luke! Enjoy your weekend buddy!
and some people say Young people won't work come and see this fella top top man
Cheers Brian 😄👌💪
Great vids izzy they remind me what a good decision we made to move to nz 15 yrs ago.
Keep up the good work cheers :))
Oo what's it like working in NZ buddy? Cheers for the comment 😄
@@IzzytheBricky a lot warmer all year round. Easier on the body a lot of single storey and brick are only 70mm wide which is a bit weird. When i left uk no one used profiles but here they did just clamp to timber frames.. how things have changed.
Hope your flashing the new trowel on the blocks lol.
I don't do Blockwork now ,my age lol :)
Leave them to the young and daft haha :))
Haha sounds like the dream buddy! Did you first get a work visa? Was talking to my missus about working abroad but she wasn't too interested 🤦🤣
@@IzzytheBricky no izzy we applied for resident visa when we came as we weren't planning on going back to the uk.:)
You only look young so id definitely look at having an experience working abroad at some point of your career.
I have to laugh tho now back when i was learning an old bricky said to me he was only bricklaying for the glamour. Lol
Now look all this brickys on you tube the red carpet next lol. :))
Hey Izzy do you have bond beam blocks for horizontal concrete? Basically it's block with notches in it you knock out for horizontal rebar and concrete. . We put horizontal rebar and concrete every 3rd course. Most engineers spec it that way. Good job on the blockwork looks nice and tidy.
Thanks mate appreciate it! I've never had to do that here, but I know in the US and Australia that's really common practice
Thats some wall young man....cracking work
Thanks Andy mate!💪
Good job my man , walls looking solid !!🙏🏼
Subbed !
Thank you buddy appreciate it! I also watch your videos!
Hope you have a good weekend!
Try a dutch or Belgian trowel the are good for working from tubs or wheelbarrows. If you can get hold of one maybe on Amazon but then you can't try before you buy
Nice work Izzy 👍👍
Cheers Budd! Enjoyed your new video taking us though the whole conversion project 👌👌😄
Enjoy your evening buddy!
Little tip take your trowel put your mud on it give it a little snap then put your trowel on the edge of the block angle it toward you just a little press down and pull back and you will find spreading is easier and faster on the back and front of the block just how I been doing it for the past 30 years but what works best for you man Love the videos have a very merry Christmas man as we say keep it to the line man🧱🧱🧱🧱⚒🇺🇸😎
Thanks alot James mate really appreciate that tip!! I've been watching you American lads lay block and I've finally got that technique down! I'm currently editing a video where I laid a load of 8" block the way you just said👌👌💪💪 Thanks alot mate! Merry Christmas to you and your family brother! Stay safe and enjoy your holidays 🎅🎅🎅🎉🍻🍻🍻
Sometimes you just have to get down and dirty. Good job bud that’s a heck of a wall to do by yourself. Good one
Cheers Richard mate! Another 10 packs coming soon🤣😨😨
ha ha was that building with budd in the background a 7:33. Top man for just getting on with it
Hahaha sounds like it😂😂 appreciate it mate! Never actually done a Radius before, was very easy..imagine it would be a bit harder with brickwork..but over all was very pleased with this job!😄😄😄🍻have a good weekend buddy
Hi mate. Yes defo investing rubber mallet. In your belt, or nearby. Blocks go down easy . Or and have the right bed thickness for the block weight. Prob 20mm to tap push down, depending on how wet mortar is. You top man buddy
Cheers buddy! Will do when I go back 😄 hard with these blocks, had to pick up about 15mm to get over a hump in the footing😨
Enjoy your weekend mate! Hope your well👍😄😄
@@IzzytheBricky Yea the the labourers (some) think concrete is self leveling lol
Nice job will a single skin block wall like this hold back all that slope?
I hope so 😂 it has rebar and concrete in the middle
Hey bricklayers, thanks, ,good job s 👍🏠,,me seven years working England, same jobs, blloks ,me f,Albania, thanks for your, 👏.👌
What do is butter the head joint and and leave my trowel on the block I just laid....then when I lay the next block it's already there. I've had people say that's incorrect but I lay more blocks than just about anyone I know so how wrong can it be.
Oh I see your doing that too in some cases.
great job mate
Thanks mate! Enjoy your weekend buddy 👍
Boy ryan got some nice videos slamming these types of blocks on
@@lmilne4859 i was just looking at some of his videos..getting some tips for laying them👌👌👌👍
Fair play laying them poxy things, hope you're getting well paid for it 👍
Cheers fella and I'm not, 180🤦♂️🤦♂️😨👎
@@IzzytheBricky ❤️
Good work bro 👍😊
Thanks Steve! Feeling it now🤣
Looks the nuts bud hope the bird in the Gaf looking after ya 👍
Cheers my mate! Just reading your comments on Changys video😂😂😂 Have a good weekend fella😉
Haha can’t help meself I love a wind up with bit banter pal ! You too buddy 👍
Using blocks with shell facing you should be able to spread 3 block long on one side with one trowel full.
Got the technique down a bit more on the barn conversion blockwork video👍
How does the first course set with the muck sitting in water?
Hiya, even if muck is under water it will set. As it's a chemical reaction with the cement curing. However, it does take longer to set
Bang on that mate. Wish you was in sheffield to do my man cave 😭
Cheers Ryan! 🤣🤣 Enjoy your weekend mate 🍻👍😄
@@IzzytheBricky will do mate il neck a shot for you lol
🤣🤣good lad! And I'll have a beer for you🍻🍻🍻
Why the bonding gap between hre blocks?
Just a quick question,if you don'tmind me asking
Lovely stuff I’d be waiting for this vid 👍🏻 food for thought mate. I feel like the video is rushed. I mean you could have spoke to us (the viewers) for about 10 minutes about what you need to do, the tools you brought, how to set out why you set out where you stick the rebar… Bit more like Charlie’s tbh lol. Head came footage the works. Think you tubers make good content when the viewers feel like we know the person. Wel for me that’s what I like. I know it takes time but this vid could have been 45 mins with soooo much detail. I’m a brickie so I know what’s going on but a lot of non brickies watch these buddy 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
To be honest the raw footage was about 3 hours, and I did speak about the job for about 5 minutes in a clip, but I cut it out because I thought it would have been a bit boring 😂😂 also there were alot of people walking around the job I had to cut out 😂 need to get myself a head cam..at the moment I use my phone and a tripod..so hard to set up and go..with a go pro it's so easy
Enjoy your weekend buddy
How did you set the rebar in
Was drilled in and set with some poxyressin
Imagine if it was a stone wall especially granite or river rock Totally different techniques and applications Different mixes and applications
Rocking on buddy hate working out a barrow must say more so if using a big trowel.
Yea I'm not the biggest fan really, but just saved me loading out muck..also had no spot boards 😂😂
@@IzzytheBricky
All about adapting buddy. 😆😆👍🏻
No footings no drain holes no tampering the Wall no string lines no vertical rebar no concrete every 2 feet for reinforcement of wall. Earth has alot of weight When backfilled and mother nature is harsh in cold weather affecting the integrity of the wall. The higher the Wall you need to tamper for stabilizing the Earth behind it. There is a technique for building walls the higher you go
Can u pls tell me why u swap laying hand on different projects
Haha it's just the trick of the camera. Always lay with the trowel in the right hand. But depending if I'm using the selfie camera or back camera makes everything opposite 👌
Thanks keep up the good work
Good Job there pal bet your feeling it today lol
Cheers buddy! I feeling knackered now mate, laid 3 packs of concrete blocks today on an Extension..🤣👎 Should have stayed at University 🤣🤣
@@IzzytheBricky naa you did the right thing them blocks yesterday and the ones today build character and bad backs lol
My chiropractor loves me..paying his bloody mortgage 🤣🤣
Brilliant work there buddy! You did very well laying those blocks, especially in the watery conditions! Keep up the brilliant work like always, looking forward to the next one! 👍😁👌👷♂️🧱
Thanks Rhys! Yea luckily I found my wellies 🤣 Appreciate it buddy! Have a great weekend 🍻👍😄
@@IzzytheBricky Thanks buddy, You too! 😄👍🍻🍻
You need to improve your trowel technique mate but your doing right with the line on the back
Yea was a bit fiddly at the start of the day getting use to the new 12", by the end I was flying. Yes alot of people said put the line on the back, definitely helpful 👌
@@IzzytheBricky have a hunt around on u tube and you will find the right technique to butter the beds and the perps it's totally different to brickwork but you will get it in the end have a good weekend cheers from western Australia plus get a back support belt or you'll end up buggered
@@markmaddison5312 cheers buddy appreciate it! Seen lads use wet muck and almost scrape it on, I'll try that next time!
Thanks Mark, you too! 🍻🍻😄
@@IzzytheBricky no worries mate
@@IzzytheBricky
Canadian brickie on here ryan really good on these. Your doing a good job Izzy.
How did you lay out the radios?
I just did it by eye mate, following the footing that was there👍 It was very easy really 👍😄
@@IzzytheBricky it look spot on.
Cheers mate! I call it "Bricklayers Eye" 😉😂
Try leaving a rubber hammer on top of blocks as laying and still not in habit of popping that support belt on Malcs knows best Mr new trowel... looks 👍
How do you workout the radius ?
To be honest mate just did it by eye..had a rough idea as the footing was pretty good 😊
@@IzzytheBricky oh right, do you lay every brick and plumb as well ? I've never built a radial wall before but am a bricklayer
I'd never done one either mate..really easy! And yes just leveled across..and then plumbed up the perps of the blocks
@@IzzytheBricky what are the prices for doing a radial wall or should that be day rate work?
I was just on dw mate
Radius I mean.
Did you dump a whole wheel barrow for your first bed in that pond 😂
You should av got £500 for that mate. Hard graft, in sludge . Take care
There is no needs for that as it creates weak points in the wall
Wasit mad
Izzy you really outside tbh learn to lay mortar (i think you wrong this time )
Collision is the man.
8” Blocks hear in the states or 12” are the norm for building love the videos enjoy watching other good masons around the world keep it up and to the line 👍😎🧱🧱
Eeey cheers Glenn mate! Glad your enjoying them buddy! Them 12" must be killers 😨😨💪
@Rob Arthur that's some crazy money mate😰😰😰 feel for you
Can’t beat a nice radius , nice j on 🧱👍🏽
Cheers buddy! Pleased with this one
@@IzzytheBricky 🧱👍🏽
great work Izzy nic trowel to wot a see 🧱🧱why do no have sum one labouring for you most of the time your mixing ,laying ,loading ,job lot ,long as your getting a least a £1000 a week fair enough ,coz you woood make that on site you deserve it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I work for a small builder and he keeps saying hes gonna get me a labour. But I'll belive it when I see it 🤣🤣 grand a week, I'd be lucky, I'm 180..need to bump by dw up
Hope your good mate
@@IzzytheBricky don't get taken advantage of just because you're agreeable mate. I wouldn't be the least surprised if the client paid over 5k for that wall.
