Ultimate Tournament and the FCM shop always seemed like a great source of bonus books to me, until I actually did the maths. Unless you're a mega-whale, you'll probably be getting more books from the FCM shop (assuming you are buying them as a priority) than UT, and the FCM shop STILL comes out at 1.13 books per day, over the course of a year (slightly better in shorter months) UT, if you are strong enough for top 200 in the diamond league (which is a big ask for someone without T5s) will be 26 every 2 weeks, or 1.86 per day. So even combined, it's just over half what someone below VIP 15 is getting from the VIP store.
for researches that require special items (i.e ancient scripts and great city military books), you still need the required amount before you’re able to use research scrolls. the scrolls only eliminate the normal resource costs and speed up cost so that method won’t work in practice. if only things were that easy 🥲
