I backpacked up the east coast of Australia in 1995, Melbourne to Cairns, then across to Ayers Rock, back to Brisbane and down to Melbourne again. Went back to visit the west coast in 2019. Love Australia, but have never seen it from this perspective before. What a journey, what an adventure!! Definitely a once in a lifetime experience, and thanks for sharing it with us. Truly inspirational
Thank you for the kind words. Backpacking that route sounds awesome! It was definitely an adventure and one I won’t be forgetting! Thanks for watching the video, hope I’ve inspired you to do some flying! 😊
Can’t give this final ep enough likes! Quite emotional when the lighthouse came into view and the shots of the cliff! A very scary landing, floods, deadly snake filled swamp - just brilliant. Thanks for persevering. Can’t wait for the next adventure👏👏👏👏🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Haha the challenges we faced were quite ridiculous! At least it added to the entertaining value for everyone watching 😅 thanks for the message and we’ll be sure to do another! 🤙
What a bummer 50K's out. Good job Twitty is skilled. EPIC achievement lads, really glad I could help you out along the way. This video (series) should have 480,000 views, not 483. So chuffed for you to have done it!
Awesome finish up and lucky it was a swamp and not dry or you would have met up with a few of those snakes . The Polini Piston popping is something that happens no matter what carb you use and I bet the next adventure will see different engines on there for sure. But I hear you say they were great considering the harsh conditions etc etc , I saw Tim the other day who flew the same route (not unaided) with his moster which is still going strong with only a couple of problems along the way. Amazing stuff , well done and now im off flying 😁🪂
Cheers Peter, the piston blowing was solely down to the carb used and was confirmed by smartcarb regarding the needle profile. The only real issue I had with mine was the clutch going so not a major one. The problem with other engines is the fuel consumption is much higher so you trade the performance.
You guys have just proved what man can conceive man can achieve. It is a true pleasure knowing you Richard and you inspire me to get even more stuck into paragliding, and thanks for your guidance and honesty in Olu I will never forget those two weeks with you and Lee, I learnt a lot about myself you are one of life’s true heroes
What an amazing achievement for you both. I bet the emotional highs and lows made it a wonderful and remarkable adventure for you both, wow, just wow, definitely one for the memories. Sorry it has taken me so long to watch it, but I was glued all the way through. I bet keeping your cameras charged was probably just as challenging as flying the trip. High Five Rich and Twitty.
✋ it’s certainly something we won’t forget! I was expecting the camera charging to be harder than it was…though I did overload on batteries! The biggest issue with cameras was space! Glad you enjoyed it Giles 😊
Hi Rich, what a fantastic final episode, epic challenge, the whole series has been fantastic. I followed you two lads from day one through the highs and lows of this epic adventure. I was never disappointed with a single episode, I watched most of them two or three times. Epic, even down to a holed piston 50km before the finish, you lads were determined to complete this challenge. Amazing mind over matter in the face of adversity on many occasions, fantastic, write the book, I will be the first to order a copy. I’m missing waiting for the next episode already, you two are a great team with some fabulous knowledge between you. Have a great Christmas and new year, I will stay subscribed for any future films. All the best, much respect to you both, well done, Cheers 🍻🍻Chris 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Chris this message fills me with so much joy! Thank you so much for the kind words mate. I’ll see how I get on with a few articles first and then I’ll think about the book 😊 For sure this is not the last of our adventures, just need to figure out which one to pursue 🙂 Merry Christmas and happy new year! 🎄
Guys, again EPIC and BRAVO !!! Wow flying over that forest... I understand how nervous you must have been ! And OH NO for the hole in the piston.... my God so near to the finish line ! But must say it made a great story for the final video. Good to see your positive spirit all the way along and that you are both alive and well. Great resilience, motivation and determination. Very inspiring
The forest was terrifying, couldn’t relax at all and every time I lowered the throttle the carb would start icing up and start sputtering. Twitty and his engine helped keep the whole series entertaining 😅 thank you Gaetan 🤙
Awesome. The last engine out was in my area. Looked like you were in gliding distance to Broadwater Beach road, or very close. If he had continued his glide North Along the beach would have been an easy recovery. 13.26 mins into the vid you can see the area I mean straight ahead, big dunes and a couple of houses by themselves. (info for next time😉). Also. I have walked through that area where he landed. Well done. On camera it is hard to see how thick that bush is. Some parts of that bush you can not even walk through. You have to kind of swim over it 6 feet off the ground. That rescue would have been the toughest part of the journey. So well done guys!.
You’re not wrong, it definitely was the toughest part of the journey…but for some reason it was also strangely fun (for me, not Andrew 😂) thanks Bill 🤙
Well done enjoyed watching your adventure across Australia. If you every come to the States and stop by Tampa Florida, let me know and will fly together!!
unbeleivin F`n amazing. Met you guys in Wee Waa (pronounced like a "small wall" in Scotland - wee woh) amazing what you did, sooo cool, and what an astounding time in Aus to do it, we`ve had such a lot of rain, after 10 years of drought. I think you have seen Australia like its hardly been seen before
We couldn’t believe our terrible luck 🍀 😅 but that’s a good way of looking at it, we’ve seen Aus like so many people haven’t! It was so green! Thanks for the correction on Wee Waa 😅
Absolutely brilliant. Really enjoyed every minute of your journey. Well done. You should write a book about your adventure. It would be a best seller in the paramotor community.
What an epic endeavor! Thanks for bringing us along! I would dare say very few people, including myself, would take on such a challenge. I found your message at the end of the video inspirational, and perseverance is not often rewarded as quickly as we would like sometimes, but in the end it always pays off! Best of luck to ya'll on your next challenge!!
What a great achievement; great effort on so many levels. My mate sent me a link to the final episode as I'm about to start PPG training in Shropshire. I've just binge-watched your mini-series, I'm already planning my cross-Europe trip... LOL. I may have missed it, but did you mention whether you broke (or set?) the World Record? It's fairly academic given the awesome adventure that you've now finished, but a recognised World Record would be a wonderful thing!
Haha glad you got hooked Iain! We’ve submitted everything to the Guinness world records and we’re just waiting for it to be verified but as far as we know we’re the first to do it 😁 Good to hear you’re starting your training and already planning your adventure 🤙🤙
Absolutely amazing achievement you two. Still think you're bonkers to even think about attempting a unsupported trip across Australia and and in their winter🥵 I do hope you get the fully deserved Guinness Book of Records Award. Well done guys. I look forward to seeing your adventure as a film series too. How will you follow that though, pole to pole😱?
Man, you are heroes! I'm watching you from the beginning of your flight across Australia. I deeply appreciate what you had done! Amazing!!! Beautiful episodes! It was a pleasure to watch your journey. I want to say -Big Thank you, Rich and Twitty!!! Best regards Guram from Tbilisi, Georgia 🇬🇪
@@rich_dolan Absolutely! Keep creating new videos! They are awesome and I can say certainly that you will find the good and big public. I'm with you and appreciate what you do!
It ended up being so lean at top end. The problem was using the smartcarb, the needle didn’t allow enough fuel through at higher rpms. I was on the standard carb and it worked fine 😊
Hi Rich, are you planning a wrap up of the trip? I’d be keen to hear about flying in the middle of the day, or did you break up the day to avoid the roughest conditions. Cheers, and well done 🎉
Hello Dave 🤙 I was planning to do a wrap up of the trip once we had heard back from Guinness about the record. It’s proving to be a bit more difficult then we first thought so I may do a wrap up sooner. To keep you from waiting we had to land several times during the middle of the day when it was getting a little bit too spicy. Other days we would get above the clouds to avoid the turbulence and quite a few days we had high level clouds that meant it wasn’t so bad and we could fly all day. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed the series 😊
Great series of video's & super well done on completing that trip. It is one of those things you will never forget. The speedster3 impressed me You seemed to be pretty comfortable flying it. Did you spend most of the time with just the trimmers open or with bar as well? how heavy are you loading it? I have had the original speedster since they first came out & it has never let me down, Though I have always had some trouble with it in nil wind take off's, although I am foot launch & it is slightly too big for me.
Thank you so much!! Definitely something I’ll never forget and very happy I created the videos on the go. The speedster3 impressed me aswell, a very comfortable wing and I developed more faith in it the more I flew it. mostly trims open and occasionally had bar on. I was heavily loaded on it at about 160kg. The speedster3 is a big difference to the 1 in terms of launch but even better than that is the sirocco3, it’s just the lightweight version of the speedster so it comes up even easier!
@@rich_dolan Thanks for that, What impressed me the most, was your skills with the trikes. I would have never thought you had a show of been able to land & t/o with them in the places you did. For your next big adventure how about recreating Sir Francis Chichester's flight from England to Australia in 1929? The story is well worth a read & It amazes me he did not die doing it.
absolute legends guys, brilliant performance and dedicated perseverance paid off, i was a little gutted you didn't finish your adventure with a fanfare of news people and local dignitaries. you deserve the freedom of the country. once again , well done , I'm sure bear grills will in touch to join your next epic adventure very soon , unless parajet beat him to it ,
3 pistons in the end! It was full throttle on the smartcarb, the needle wasn’t right for the polini engine but I think they’ve released a new needle now. Either way it added to our adventure!
👍👍✈️ amazing project

The most epic paramotor adventure for shure. glad you were able to make it to the end..
Thank you dude 😊 we’re both pretty happy aswell!!

What ratio of 2-stroke oil do you run in these motors and what CC are they?
They’re 200cc and we were running 2.5% mix
