Quality of opponents matter . people saying khabib beat tomato cans early in his career which is 100% true but when he fought the best he beat the best also the eye test matters like how well rounded they are stand up grappling and durability and cardio
it wasnt just beat them it was how he beat them. U have olympic tier wrestlers in ufc who turned to strikers just because how hard it is to wrestle. Yet khabib not only became the best wrestler but fought whos who of most dangerous strikers in ufc outstriking all of them on feat with not so much as a cut. That dominance makes him the goat
@@jackcallahan9069 Usman wud have got subbed, khabib is a horrible stylistic matchup. Usman fights best at a measured slow pace, khabib pushes extremely fast pace, whoever controls the grappling position decides the pace. Striking becomes secondary in this matchup. Only way usman wins is if he keeps khabib at a distance or outgrapples him both of which are impossibile.
@@hashaamkhalid417 I can understand saying that Khabib can beat Usman, but to say that Usman has absolutely no path to victory is delusional. Khabib struggles to take people down out in the open and couldn't even take down Conor McGregor. Usman had near perfect takedown defense and one of the best in UFC history, and is the better pure wrestler than Khabib, Khabib is a Combat Sambo specialist and didn't grow up doing any form of pure wrestling unlike Usman. What Khabib was good at and the best in the world in was using his judo to trip you at the fence make you scramble, then hit a mat return over and over again, until he makes you tired. He would then make you turtle to get up, slide he's hooks in and then try to submit you. The pace at which Khabib fights doesn't matter since Usman had such monster cardio (not to mention his pace was not what made his opponents tire as I've established before) and was extremely genetically gifted. Since Khabib can't take Usman down out in the open he'll have to back him up to the fence to try and trip him, but the only way Khabib takes Usman to the fence without wrestling is by pressuring him with striking, which then makes striking primary. And I'm not sure someone as cautious as Khabib wants to get in the pocket and strike with some who has so much power and actually decent boxing as Usman. So when you compare their physical attributes and skills, in my opinion Usman is the stylistic nightmare matchup for Khabib. I'm not saying Usman beats Khabib, I'm just expressing the fact that this is a very winnable fight for Usman and is in fact not impossible. Khabib is beatable.
Honestly khabib fought lousy opponents early in his ufc career because that's how they treated grapplers when they weren't big names. Even now years later if you aren't basically a khabib-like intense wrestler you need a 10 or so win streak to get a title shot
Khabib was a Renan Barao that knew when to retire.
100🔥😤
I like to think of him more like a DC that knew when to retire. But to each their own.
@@OK-yy6qzRenan Barao was 32-1 going into the TJ Dillashaw fight. Barao had 4 title wins which is the exact same as Khabib. It is a great comparison
