In April 2001, an RQ-4 drone flew from the U.S.A. and landed at the RAAF base at Edinborough, South Australia - all by itself (ie. entirely autonomous, if I remember correctly).

Yeah, sun glasses and a cool smile are a must for every soldier there... . Only the best stuff. You couldn't bring the numbers on the table China does for example. And why (USA is a great country with many great people! I have been there, even on the old WTC and Manhattan was a blast to me in 1992!)? You make the best Fast Food in the whole world. I don't mean the Mc D. - stuff but the really good stuff. American Pizza and so on. You have the most beautiful girls and women on planet earth. You are great. Why do you always stick your nose in other countries "things"? I know that common people won't do this. i loved many of movies created in the USA. I still do. I love many series. Breaking Bad. Legendary. But also movies from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s and sometimes evene newer stuff. And so many great series. North and South with Patrick Swayze, David Carradine and so many others was, is and will always be one of my all-time-favourites. So many great actors, actresses, himan beings. Just great in so many ways. As a kid I even loved your military models of aircraft mainly and would build them. Although "war machines" every boy, nearly every boy, loves american old style toys from the 80s, for example. And so many wonderful legendary music. From swing to Rock 'n' Roll, 60s music, the psychedelic stuff of the later 60s and early 70s, Hard Rock and Metal, really great rap music although I am no real fan of rap. But Grandmaster Flash, Beastie Boys, 2 Live Crew when I was 12 or 13, Guns and Roses, - I couldn't count everything I love about the USA. And that's for real.
But why do your politicians and military just relax? They don't have to solve anything in the world. It wouldn't work and you saw it many times. Please. Set signs for peace. And don't let some super-richt "elites" fool you. And what are you doing with Germany? There wouldn't be many Germans in 50 years if it goes on like this. Why is your military still here? Why? We have no "Nazi-problem". We have other problems. Financial Problems, problems with immigrants who won't behave like gentle people. And too many for such a small country like Germany. Germans are peaceful for over 70 years. No one here who is (emotionally) intelligent is a right-winger, a racist or anything like that. But we got many extremists. And who tells our politicians what to do? Why? Why don't you just let good hearted people live their lives free? Please, people. Love, Peace & Harmony. Pleace politicians. Stop those wars. Make peace. The whole human world would profit. No one would have to suffer.
No one can put money in his grave. No one can buy health, or love, or be loved. And life is too short for all the sh..t that's going on. "When will we ever learn?" Love. And I believe in more than this "human" world. I won't hate any once more in my life. I won't. And nobody has to. You, the country of opportunities, formed a new lifestyle, a free lifestyle, and you were the first ones in historic epoche. So please remember. Don't let evil rule over yourselves. You could still be idols with your power and might. You could change the world for the better, for everyone, without war. I know it never would happen and I don't matter but I would love to spend an evening talking and listening, to have a conversation with an in my opinion very intelligent caring person like today's Elon Musk, for example. Or just with loving, gentle, good, true souls not matter who you are. Best wishes.

The landing gear locks 0:53 seem over-engineered compared to those log-on-a-rope chocks! You'd think they'd also have high-tech chocks or also use axe-hewn trestles or something. I don't know, the two extremes just struck me...

    • @disabuser

Yeah, landing gear pins are a fairly simple technology. I'm betting those things are just an extremely expensive revenue enhancement for the manufacturer. All you need for chocks is something wedge-shaped that's heavy enough not to blow away.

Hardware stores like Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target. All big Name brand stores. Most Chinese products are of high quality and good value. Our countries are mutually dependent on this economic relationship. The relationship between U.S. and China have become tense. I hope we remain good friends and partners. I admire Chinese people.

Not sure what the guy replying to you has been smoking but basically unless your satellites are in geo stationary or it over tour target you will need to wait for it/them to make a pass over that area, also there could be cloud cover etc.. that a steerable vehicle can counter manoeuvre around, you may also want to look at the target at a specific time of day or with sensors that the satellite that's available doesn't operate. It's adding capability, options.

But the credits must go to those brave and honourable congressmen/women who fought their hearts out to make sure the contract is signed, sealed and delivered. America's National Security always come first.
Oh wait! Almost forgot to mention that all team members get a share of the $230 million once the costs of production are deducted.
The real-world estimate for this drone is $50 million Max.
