@Tired-hm4tw Only Jesus Christ/God rose from the dead to prove his power over death. No one ever has or can make that claim and prove it. There were plenty of witnesses who walked and talked with Christ after his resurrection. That's not religion. That is God/Jesus Christ saying I love you and offer you hope, a place where there will be no more sickness, no more pain, no more sorrow, no more death. Like it was in the beginning before sin entered the picture. Read you bible; it's all in there.
This is what the Holy Spirit inspired Peter to write in his second letter.
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Nope. I ask MANY scientific questions as a believer. From subjects ranging from Galois Theory to optics to Special Relativity. Just because I believe God made something doesn't in any way mean I'm not curious as to how it might be simplified into understandable bits. Isaac Newton makes this very clear in his writings as well. His belief did not in hinder his curiosity in any way. That's how he was able to unify his gravitational assumption with Kepler's observations.

"Rejection" vs "Non-acceptance" parallels the legal conclusions of "innocent" vs "not-guilty". The burden is on the claimant to prove their claim, not on the defendant to disprove the claim. Thus, atheism is not itself a claim, nor does not innately reject the theist claim, but rather simply does not accept as true the theist claim being put forward.

Like, "Oh, no: You HAVE to remove every third verb on pages that are divisible by five. And you *must* run it in google translate from english to italian, then into spanish, then back to english, as otherwise you'll get the wrong assembling instructions. And then: You can't trust *anything* on page 6. Except the number of bolts that are used later for page 8."

Christians always don't seem aware that alot of atheists used to be Christians and are very knowledgeable of the Bible. Some Christians go to study Theology and come out of it atheist learning that even though the Bible talks of an exodus from Egypt despite that in history that never happened. There was never an exodus from Egypt. There was the Babylon captivity though. Sometime during or after the captivity all other deities the Canaanites worshiped were rejected and only Yahweh was worshiped as supreme. The other deities like Baal and Moloch got demonized in the Bible. Which is why in the Bible other deities are acknowledged to exist when supposedly Yahweh says to not worship any other gods before him.

Non-belief; ie: atheism, is the default. You have not produced sufficient evidence to believe in god, so we defer belief pending such evidence. That's what atheism is: a deferral of belief. It's not a claim that needs evidence or defense. It's not a doctrine or belief system

I’m a recovering alcoholic who had Jesus as my higher power and I was full of angst, depression, and anxiety. As soon as I became an atheist, then a humanist, and then a skeptic, my life is full, I no longer suffer from depression/anxiety, and I’m no longer angry. It’s weird to feel “normal.” Anyways, Exodus 21 does speak of slavery but I didn’t see anything in Exodus 31. The Bible still endorses slavery but I’m just being pedantic.

I'm an atheist because I've yet to hear of, or think of a concept of a god that I could say "I believe that entity exists." Arguing against Evolution in some kind of false dilemma between Evolution or `God,` is absurd.

      Noah's flood debunked:
1... Why were the other civilizations around the world that existed before the supposed global flood not impacted by it and have no records of a flood...
2... How did Koala bears and Polar bears, Anteaters and Sloths get to and from their home lands...
3... Where was all the tons of food kept on the Ark...?
4... How did a crew of 8 steer a ship that size all that time?
5... It floated basically a year on the sea, yet it supposedly came to rest only a few miles away ?
6... How is it that there's no ruins of flooded cities and so forth all around the world dating to the exact same time?
7... How did the fresh water fish survive the salt water... How did salt water fish survive all the freshwater influx.
8... How did the animals survive when there was no food for them anywhere on the world after the flood killed all things including grass, plants trees and the game animals they lived on?
9... How did Noah build an Ark out of wood when the first parts would have rotted away by the time he could get to the last parts?
      10. Where did Noah keep termites on a wooden Ark?
      11. So, out of the 8 people on the Ark, where did oriental and black people come from? Remember, any answer to that involving changes proves evolution...
      12. Why did everyone not die out from the incestuous genetic choke point that would have introduced too many defects for the race to survive... (See #11 again)
      13. Same with all animals...
      14. How did Noah pay for all the food for all the Wood, the animals, the animal food, the nails, food for the crew?
      15. Where did the water come from?
      16. Where did the water go?
      17. How did Noah know how to build a boat in regard to steering, ballast, toilets, bilges etc, when he had no experience...?
      18. Why didn't ship building expertise improve AFTER the Ark? But instead was limited for many more hundreds of years ?
      19. At a depth, sufficient to flood the highest mountains the air would be so thin that no one on the Ark would have been able to survive, same as on top of Mt Everest now.
      20. After saving the sloths, Polar bears, Kangaroo's, Lynx, Koala bears, Anteaters etc, why did know one know of the America's or Australia etc, afterwards... ?
      21. Have you ever tried to carve a plank out of a tree trunk using modern tools? Think how long it would take with simple bronze age or copper axes and no power tools. Then think about how many planks it would take to build a boat that size with only a handful of people building it.
      23. How did polar animals survive the heat of the middle east?
      24. Why didn't glaciers all over the world either melt or float to the surface?
      25. Why didn't the ark get sunk by hitting icebergs? (See #24 again)
      26. How did he forge all the nails or even have the time to do it even at a nail a minute it would have taken a life time...
      27. How did animals with specific breeding habits (Such as monarch Butterflies that can ONLY nest on the Milkweed plant (That is only native to North America)) reproduce and survive...
      28. Dinosaurs were not all vegetarian. That is easily seen my the fossils having claws and teeth designed for predatory hunting.
      29. How long did it take to gather up animals and their specific foods from all over the world, including Australia, The America's The Philippines, The Arctic, Japan, China and return them to their origins...
      30. How is it that no species were wiped out if one half of a breeding pair, died on the Ark... ?
      31. Most cultures have experienced some form of flooding, which is probably the root of the myth(s), as to them, just a few miles would be "the whole world". If was a global flood, those cultures would not have e=survived and certainly would not have their own stories relating to it.
      32. We are supposed to believe that millions of people drowned around the world because no one other than Noah, owned a boat, not even fishermen or navies or traders...
      33. The bronze age ancestors of the vikings built ships that could carry a crew of 50 or more... did they drown too?
      34. All the water on Earth would have been salty and unfit for drinking after a global flood.

And it doesn't help having different versions of the bible books that are poorly written, also contributes to the variations/denominations.

Well, Im glad to see the issue of faith is at the forefront of this video.
And the reason I say that is, because after so many conversations wit theists of all sorts, a few of them quite well versed in debating atheism vs theism, all such conversations have ended rather bluntly when they are on occasion taken to the inevitable end point, and that endpoint is, the theist always ends up having to rely on faith.
    PERIOD.
In the end, its all there really is for the religious. I dont care what claims they start out with or end up going through, in the end, all thats left for them is faith.
And in the end, as literally explained here, faith is always the end point for the religious. And thats because its all they have left once everything else is discussed to its endpoint.

I think faith in itself is not a bad thing. You cannot know everything 100%. I compare it to a bridge over an abyss you have to use. If the bridge is made of concrete and steel you can have good faith it will carry you. Same for a solid wooden bridge. It starts getting different with e.g. a rotten rope bridge. You might still have faith but the foundation for that is not very good.
Religious faith (relying on a god) is mostly trying to cross the abyss without a bridge at all.

Christians have this love affair with Lucifer, The Devil, The Morning Star, The Shining One, The Most Light... But Nowhere in Hebrew is the name of Lucifer attached to the most beloved angel of the Christian god. Satan was not a name, it was a class of angel and they basically did the strong-arm work of that god. Sodom and Gomorrah, pillars of salt, destroying walls, that kind of thing was the responsibility of those angels. That's why "The Devil" has so many names. My aunt was an archaeologist and had the most wonderful academic friends. They made sure I knew how to think. There are a few good translation channels I like but won't list them out of respect. They can be searched for.
Lucifer being inserted into the Christian holy texts was the result of translating a passage into Latin, where the king of Babylon was being addressed. He was addressed as The Shining One and Morning Star. As the monk was translating the text from Hebrew into Latin, that was translated into "Lucifer". But they were not talking about an angel or spiritual adversary, it was a human king. Any other references were taken from the book of Enoch, a book that is in the collected apocrypha. But try to tell people that they're afraid of a king who died thousands of years ago and who has been used to control the Great Unwashed, all this time. I just subscribed to your channel. I do believe in an afterlife and I base that on having experiences I can not explain. But that's for me and is not correct for anyone else. But I do not believe the god that is presented in Christian churches for the purpose of obtaining money through guilt. That jealous, insecure, sexist, rapey (he told certain men to throw their daughters out to be raped), inconsistent, hate-filled god is nowhere close to what I experienced. Why would anyone want to worship a god that's the equivalent of a mean, jealous, spoiled kid who likes killing ants with a magnifying glass?

Any time theists say "you should read carefully" they mean "you should be able to make any, just any damn excuses for any damn thing written there!"
Bible isn't that long actually. If you can read at all, you're able to comprehend that the Only way to distinguish "what we must take literally" from "what was a metaphor" is our contemporary morals and worldviews! Therefore, bible -- like any other holly-molly book out there -- is just a compilation of medieval nonsense.
