    Hello female solo traveller here . I am so excited to share that I'll be visiting Pakistan next month! From everything I've heard, it sounds like a stunning country with a relaxed vibe and welcoming people. I can't wait to experience it all firsthand and share my journey through videos on this channel. Love from the USA

      @@Naturedozee please be careful when visiting Pakistan nowadays from the USA. If you're an American of Pakistani origin that's ok, but ever since the outbreak of the present/ongoing Middle Eastern conflict in Palestine and Lebanon, US citizens are viewed with hostility in several parts. The GB/Northern areas should be safe but not KPK/North West Frontier and Baluchistan is of course unsafe for everyone . Best of luck and safe travels (strongly suggest you get a travel advisory from your embassy in Islamabad)

It was suuuuuper hot in Islamabad and Taxila, and later when I visited in Lahore too, but the temperatur in Gilgit Baltistan was mostly okay (in fact, it was too cold at times 😅). What would you say is the best time to visit Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and other Pakistani cities so it's not too hot? Hello nice vlog episode 😊 the coverage of the ancient Taxila/Gandhara civilization is specially good. - Islamabad is, of course , the very modern capital city of Pakistan today, despite its green beauty, its facing serious environmental issues and a big water shortage. If Islamabad keeps growing and expanding at the present rates, water supplies will entirely fail in another 5-6 years.

      @@lauraabornstein you're very welcome. Thanks for the vlogs on Pakistan. BTW, regarding the Karakoram Highway, it was never ever part of the Silk Road/Route, that's another fallacy engendered by local tour operators in the 1980s. 😂 The actual Silk Route passed by hundreds of kms away from this stretch. In fact , this route used to connect to Chinese Turkestan (now Xinjiang in PRC) and it carried on minor trade , mostly apricots, other fruits and grains going up from the Hunza side , also a few spices carried up through Punjab to Kashgar via this side; in exchange for felt/woollen fabrics, butter and such produce . It might be interesting to read about this too, get the proper research and background .

    In respect of local culture and values, foreign visiting women and men should dress modestly. Everyone including men and women will be more open and welcoming to a foreigner if he dresses modestly, particularly in remote and rural areas.

    • @lauraabornstein
      @lauraabornstein  Месяц назад +1

      Of course! I wasn't critisizing the way of dress in Pakistan, just saying that I made a mistake when it came to dress and I was misinformed by other videos, so I wanted to keep others from making the same mistake. I also wouldn't say that I wasn't modest, just that I dressed noticeably different from locals when I thought I wouldn't stand out that much (the most unmodest thing I wore was a short sleeve tshirt). In my experience tho, I felt like it was more important to dress modestly in the cities tho, at least when it comed to avoiding being stared at
