This was another outstanding song by Polyphia. They just keep coming up with new ways to blow your mind. You can see more Polyphia reaction videos by clicking this link bit.ly/PolyphiaReactions

Don't forget to suggest a song for a future reaction and analysis video. Thanks for watching!
I LOVE how the video is serious, but also SO NOT serious.
Like, how Lil West can come out dressed like some Victorian demon vampire elf and still go HARD. And its totally fine.
They didn't have to do any silly posturing, like shooting him in a club, in slow motion, throwing money around to make you take him seriously.
This whole new Polyphia album is just a crazy mix tape of genre mish-mashes with anyone and everyone they felt like making some fun noises with.
It's a great time.
West fit went HARD
Great vid. you should react to the tim/scott playthrough too. You can really see what they're doing, plus there are some amazing riffs that you can hear clearly in the rap section
Thanks I’ll check it out.
Recently found your content and your voice is so relaxing. Great commentary and rection!
Thanks I appreciate it!
Great vid, you’re my favorite to watch for music reactions! Able to pick out all the cool little intricacies most people would only notice subconsciously, such as the high hats matching up with lil west’s vocal melody. I’m also seeing them in Pittsburgh and I can’t wait! I got the VIP tickets so I could meet them since they’re my heroes.
Hey Tommy thanks for the kind words man. I try, I’m glad you are enjoying the videos. That’s pretty cool you’re going to that concert too. Awesome you’re gonna get to meet them too. We didn’t get that package. That’s gonna be a great memory meeting them. Maybe we will see you there.
I've been waiting for you to dive into polyphia's new album, sooo good
i got to see Polyphia when they came to Lawrence, KS and it was definitely one of the best shows i’ve been to! you’re definitely going to love their music even more once you get the full experience of seeing them live
Hey Hannah. I was lucky enough to see them last Monday in Pittsburgh. Wow totally blew me and the rest of thr audience away. They are so damn good and even better live. Wow!!!
Only way i can explain polyphia is "music for musicians." I love watching your takes because even after watching, listening, and analyzing their music over and over, you point out something i didn't notice through the organized rhythmic chaos these guys masterfully craft beautifully each song.
Thanks so much Travis! Yeah they are musicians for musicians. Alright. Just epic stuff from them.
That's so awesome that you got tickets! I have tickets for their Dallas show! You should watch their Los Angeles "Genesis" live video. It features the guy from Brasstracks and it's an amazing performance! It'll give you a good idea of what to expect for the concert!
Thank I appreciate it. I’m pretty excited!
Got to see polyphia live in Toronto this past August. They're incredible live! Their audio mix for their set was really good. You could clearly hear each player and they mesh so well.
I’m can’t wait to see them in April.
The bass really sets that consistent groove you hear throughout the record.
You’d love The Audacity. Definitely some of the best drums and bass that polyphia has ever had
I’d love to see you get into the track ‘the audacity’ the composition and execution of that song is next level musicianship, even for polyphia!
Hey Nick it’s on the list now thanks.
they have a playthrough of this song you should check that out too
Thanks I’ll check it out.
The dissolve on the outro is really neat.
For sure.
The tone of clays bass is straight up gnarly
Oh yeah I love Clay because I am a bass player too. He’s a freakin beast.
I think you would love their song called the audacity, way more jazzy than their usual songs
You ever thought about running a podcast? Or even so an ASMR Channel. Dude your voice is chilllllll
Lol thanks I might have to look into it.
hi! I noticed the basses in the background. Do you have any tips for learning by ear? I played the last 10 years by tablature and starting jamming with my friends and didn't realize how much they stunted my growth. I've been working on scales but I wanna be able to do key changes and it's embarrassing to have to spend 5-10 seconds finding the root note
From what you are telling me you are doing the right thing working on your scales. Finding the root notes is a good thing too. There are basic chord patterns to follow with thr songs you are learning too. Some use a 1-4-5. Those would be the first fourth and fifth notes of thr key the song is in. Sometimes a 2-5-1 and also a 1-5-6-4 sonetime a 2 is thrown in also. As far as playing by ear it takes awhile to train your ear but thr more playing you do the better you can hear the sounds. I still practice this when I am learning a pop song on thr bass. I’ll play it and try to find the root notes of thr song. Once I start to find one then I know the chord progressions and it’s easier figuring out what comes next to create the sequence. The more you do this and learn it thr easier it all gets. I hope this was helpful. If you have any other questions just let me know.
@@bobcieslinski thank you so much for your response. I think I'm just very impatient when it comes to developing hearing Because I'm at a point where I can learn most songs by tabs through repetition and now that I have to apply critical thinking to decipher the notes it is not as quick. I will definitely try out the notes with some backing tracks to build that fundamental. Also you should react to chivalry is not dead by hiatus kaiyote it is a great song but it is nothing like polyphia. Thanks again you have earned a sub through me
@@BREAKocean no problem glad I could help. Feel free to hit me up with any other questions.
the mad lad's got ticket for Polyphia UWAH
If you have never seen them live you are in for a treat.
I have not but I will be in April. I got tickets and I am so excited.
@@bobcieslinski maybe you could do a video post show and give us your impressions of the live performance? I have seen them a few times and they are amazing but I’m interested in what someone with your expertise would have to say about it.
@@rockerguy97 that’s a great idea thanks Rockerguy.
Great reaction. Highly recommend you listen to Polyphia - The Audacity, next. It is the most musically impressive song on the album, imo - it has straight up jazz with potentially the best bass clay has ever recorded. I've rarely been so blown away by a song. ruclips.net/video/FHalHkfM5Aw/видео.html
Thanks Matthew! I’ll add that to the list. I love me some jazz.
This is not my favorite Polyphia album BUT I loved how gritty this album got in some places!
Agreed.
Clay > drum machine. What an animal 😀
For sure Templar. He is. Amazing drummer.
I’d seriously listen to so much more rap if it had background musicality like polyphia.
It’s just never been a style I can really get into because of the constrained simplicity of the genre. Not to say there no good rappers because that’s an insane statement, but just personally, I really love complexity in music, and rap rarely hits that for me.
I’d listen to it all if it had bands like polyphia doing the instrumentation rather than a couple programs and a looped beat.
Good points. I saw Polyphia live last April. Holy cow are they amazing live.
I wish any band went to Tallahassee but it’s such a shit place I can’t blame em, capital my ass.
Now, if only Lil' No Talent would stop using heavy vocal tone correction. It's extremely noticeable..
Maybe because that's the intention and it's a stylistic choice? It's crazy that some people still think using these effects means you have no talent lol
More like...
If only people understood that a voice is a musical instrument, and running it through filters is a perfectly legitimate way to make music.
But, you know, you are welcomed to keep misunderstanding stuff. You do you.
I mostly agree to this comment. Autotune and layerings have become less a stylistic choice than a brainless gimmick in the musical industry. You hardly ever find, these days, a rap track without the same kind of tone correction. It's was fun to explorate 10 years ago, but now it's just that kind of "entry ticket" to reach the mainstream productionn, and avoid originality at all cost. I won't stay Lil West is no talent, but, at least, I don't see any art in this. And while Polyphia makes everything fresh and talentuous, Lil West seems to be a random addition there (not good, not bad, just meh).
You seem like the perfect, professional down to earth man and as far as a band director I'd have loved to have you as mine! Lots of directors with anger problems! Very humble and oozing knowledge
Hey Steinblitz. Thanks for the super kind words man. Yeah I’m not an angry person with my band kids. Everyone makes mistakes yiu just have to learn from them and keep moving forward. I think it’s much better to be positive than to be negative. I’m ve been able to have award winning elementary groups because of my personality. Thanks again! I hope you’ll come back for more reactions!
@@bobcieslinski that's great to hear! On the other hand I've never seen a group not know how to be quiet when needed quite like my band so.. anyways great stuff sir!
