There’s a few good answers but the right answer is Santa Barbara. If you need more night life LA is close enough to go whenever you want. Sking is close enough for a weekend at Big Bear or if you need more there’s Lake Tahoe. Vacation home in Telluride, Aspen can suck it. Telluride is the most beautiful town in the country. So yeh Santa Barbara and Telluride is gonna be hard to beat!
I live 2 hours away from San Diego. Since I was young, San Diego has been the #1 place that I would want to live (I just can’t afford to). I truly hope that I can someday.
Hilo, Kona, Carmel/Monterey, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Seattle, Tacoma, Portland. West Coast, near the water, mild weather, diverse communities and food.
love your show. My votes were 1. Hawaii. 2. north or south Carolina. 3. Southern California - specically Catalina Island. IF we are pickng snywhere then 1. Sicily. 2. Any where south of the border near th sea 3. GREECE- in particular the AEGEAN ISLANDS. 4. Any of our trust territory islands 5. Japan. So IM me if you want to foot that bill. LOL.
Hi from San Diego lol. Indeed a great place to live! I just recently went to Sedona for the first time and was actually thinking I could totally live there for a bit - probably not forever, I love the ocean, but would love to spend more time there, it was just so beautiful.
My place of birth Manhattan is on the list! Maybe because of that background is why I have had no problems living in 6 different countries outside of the US.
I decided to get my comment in early because we love where we are and we’re not moving so this is just for information and pleasure watching. I always enjoy your videos. Even my sons and I talk about which ones we like best.
What the heck, peeps? Santa Barbara? Carmel by the Sea? Easily the two most beautiful towns/cities on the entire west coast; north to south. If I had a bigger wallet I wouldn't have to even think about it. Live in Santa B and have a bungalow in Carmel or vice versa, whatever.
There are tons of places that fall into that category like Asheville, NC which isn't on the list probably because not enough people live there to vote for it, same for Flagstaff, AZ, or Denver or Bend where residents don't want anyone to know what they have.
Eww cross out LA and keep the rest on your list I'm from here LA is depressing overcrowded overpriced dirty etc can't wait till leave not a happy place to live to be honest
I could def do Lake Tahoe-always imagined living there. As a 3rd gen San Diegan, acclimating to any other climate is harsh. You could do it but don’t ever really want to.
As someone who’s lived in phx my whole life, I cannot understand for the life of me why Scottsdale is on this list. Sedona sure, but Scottsdale is just slightly less miserable Phoenix
As a current San Diego resident, I presumed it would be number 1, thanks for affirming that. However, it should also be known folks have been leaving for the reason of this video: it's just too damn expensive. Best weather on the continental U.S. is why many of us are still hanging around.

I would choose Seattle. Love the climate, culture, natural beauty, everything. I would also choose Anacortes or Langley (on Whidbey Island). Second choice is my native Colorado, any beautiful mountain town will do, especially if it has a lake. Well, and Boulder. My birthplace and college town. It has a very special place in my heart.

I knew what #1 was before I even watched it. The city I voted for, San Diego. We live in Savannah and it’s nice. The wife works in the SF Bay Area so I’m there a lot. It’s definitely beautiful but too crazy to live in permanently. My #2 city if I didn’t like heat so much would be Monterey CA. ❤️

Great info Briggs. San Diego not surprised that it is number 1. I wish I could say I’m surprised by some of the others on the list. I’ve been to about half on this list. Have enjoyed all of them. Keep up the good work 😊
Lived in boston in 1986 on Melrose st. In a 1 bedroom apartment which is right by the Arlington t. The rent was 650 dollars a month. I was making 25 thousand a year. 50 percent of my salary to cover my rent. Those were the days.
I drove thru Kanab on my motorcycle every time I went to Zion which was always fun. I'd mention route 12 and Capital Reef. I didn't find Bryce all that exciting.
Great video Briggs thanks for sharing. As an Aussie who loves Australia I still find your videos interesting and just another example of how different the people in both countries are. Having never been to the US it’s very hard to pick where I’d want to live if I ever picked up and moved. Even as an older fella it would definitely have to be somewhere fun and being someone who loves the outdoors especially motorcycles and cycling there’d have to be somewhere with both a lot of twisty roads and cycleways.
What makes Bellingham that kind of attractive? Ive never heard of that town but Washington, Oregon and northern California are favorite places to frequent. Because of the scenery which I argue is one of the most beautiful places/regions on the planet.
@@K.B.Williams Bellingham is a small city with a university- Western Washington University, which brings cultural events to a place that otherwise might not get them. The city’s setting is quite lovely environmentally, and it’s also a short drive into BC and the terminus for the Alaska Ferry in the Fair Haven district . There’s lots of small farming in the area, especially to the south in Skagit Valley. I’m commenting as a Seattle resident who goes there occasionally to visit friends so have no personal experience living there.
The problem is trying to make a living there. I had some coworkers who commuted to Everett every day from there. I thought they were nuts. I guess they had all worked at the same manufacturing company which shut down.
I lived in the US all of my life until recently when I relocated to Sweden to be with my fiancé. I am early 40’s and mainly retired but still have business interests in multiple states. Luv the video. ❤
I live in Seattle because I earn more here than I could anywhere else in the world. It’s pretty nice here if you’re into outdoors, but the population is overwhelmingly the roads pretty bad. Living in a beach town just north of SD I'll agree and Sedona is beautiful
Here’s for the algorithm, Briggs! Thank you another great video!
I’d live all over the place. And be a total snowbird.
Absolutely!! Sounds like you have no kids or they're grown. Either way, I agree. More north in the summer and south in the winter 💯💯
Agree. A small apartment in each city I love and just travel around.
Yup, build a travel van and go up and down the west from Fairbanks in the summertime to Baja Mexico in the winter.
LOL.
Great video! I’d probably choose San Diego or SF as well
,la jolla , del mar , rancho Santa Fe , Coronado , laguna beach , san Marino , Pasadena
I envy all of you that have not only traveled, but lives abroad. I just had to say that 👌👌✌️
I decided to get my comment in early because we love where we are and we’re not moving so this is just for information and pleasure watching.
The central coast as whole is as good as it gets, except for maybe Santa Maria and Lompoc lol
There are tons of places that fall into that category like Asheville, NC which isn't on the list probably because not enough people live there to vote for it, same for Flagstaff, AZ, or Denver or Bend where residents don't want anyone to know what they have.
Carmel is absolutely beautiful
Great video!
My top 5 would be Los Angeles, San Diego, Miami, Tampa, and Panama City Beach.
If I picked an Arizona city it would be Flagstaff, it didn't seem as crowded as Sedona or PHX/Scottsdale, and the weather has seasons.
Flagstaff drivers have bumper stickers that say “ don’t Phoenix us!”.
More botox in Scottsdale.
It’s Phoenix, just the part full of rich people. Yea, I don’t get that one either.
@@timmmahhhh Yeah totally agree, I live in Phx and work in Scottsdale, but Flagstaff beat them both, easily.
As a current San Diego resident, I presumed it would be number 1, thanks for affirming that. However, it should also be known folks have been leaving for the reason of this video: it's just too damn expensive. Best weather on the continental U.S. is why many of us are still hanging around.
I guess the turd covered beaches are just an added perk.
@LuckyBaldwin777 I'll take that occasional inconvenience over turd-brains anyday
@@LuckyBaldwin777Being right next to Tijuana is the biggest negative about the place, right next to the fact it’s in California. That weather though.. so nice! 🌞 🩴 🌴
If i had money i would just live more comfortably where i already live, Prescott arizona. Not exactly affordable. But desirable
Not a bad place to live.
I love Prescott
Yeah it's on my short list of ultimate landing spots.
Is it conservative friendly?
@@silverlining6259 yes. Very
Love your videos
I would choose Seattle. Love the climate, culture, natural beauty, everything. I would also choose Anacortes or Langley (on Whidbey Island). Second choice is my native Colorado, any beautiful mountain town will do, especially if it has a lake. Well, and Boulder. My birthplace and college town. It has a very special place in my heart.
you like 80 days of sunshine a year and a black rain for days on end? Cold rain not warm.
@@lobehold4864 I lived in Seattle for many years, as recently as 2019. I love it there.
I’d reapply to the Steadman Clinic in Vail for their spine clinic patients and live in Breckenridge. Actually after I watch this I’m going to study for my boards.
What an intriguing question! Now I'm going to be thinking about this.
I would add Santa Barbara, CA, Bend, OR, Bozeman, MT, Durango, CO, Brevard, NC, Burlington, VT, and Bar Harbor, ME.
I love your channel ❤❤❤
My list if money wasn’t an issue:
New York
Los Angeles
Miami
Orlando
San Diego
San Jose
Honolulu
Spam is big in the Philippines as well. Of course there are a lot of Filipinos in Hawaii.
Lived in 5 states. Moved from New York city in 2021. Sold my coop. Would never live in New York city. Then moved to st. Petersburg. Then to tampa. Finally Dunedin. Love it . Not moving again. Bought a 2br 2ba condo cash. It is a beautiful walkable town. Near a ⛵ marina. Shops restaurants. Artsy and activities for seniors. Free movies at the library weekly. Good Italian food Greek food Mexican food. And close to tarpon springs. There is a trolley that can take you for a 1.10 if you are a senior. Oh there's a Beatles museum downtown too. Love Dunedin. 😊😊😊
Very informative as always. Thank you.
I would move to either coastal Maine or back to Seattle, maybe even to the San Juan Islands.
I live in the SF Bay Area since the '70's and will never leave❣️Culture next to nature. The best food in the world (yes) excellent weather, mass transit, I take buses everywhere. I sail all year and the views are so incredible ❤️🔥💐
Yo Briggs, could you please do a video tellin' us about the surrounding towns and suburbs around Delta City (Detroit)?
Nobody mentioned Catalina Island. If $ were no object I'd be there. AND those of us with the "Boston" area accent find it beautiful. ❤
I’d live in San Diego and get an apartment in NYC for whenever I feel like visiting.
Same here. That sounds like the best of both worlds.
And maybe one more in key west
Some of the places on this were a bit of a surprise. For me, I could not live in any place that is too hot, too cold, has frequent tornados or hurricanes and doesn’t have access to great music, food, museums, healthcare and beautiful geology, geography and architecture.
Great info Briggs. San Diego not surprised that it is number 1. I wish I could say I’m surprised by some of the others on the list. I’ve been to about half on this list. Have enjoyed all of them. Keep up the good work 😊
New Jersey by the beach ❤ its more a feeling of home and happy memories ❤
San diego, naples, san fran, monterey California
Lived in boston in 1986 on Melrose st. In a 1 bedroom apartment which is right by the Arlington t. The rent was 650 dollars a month. I was making 25 thousand a year. 50 percent of my salary to cover my rent. Those were the days.
Thank you for your work!
Great survey. I would like to live on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe, Jackson Hole, or San Diego.
Good video. THX
Kanab Utah. It’s close to Zion, Bryce, Lake Powell, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon
I drove thru Kanab on my motorcycle every time I went to Zion which was always fun. I'd mention route 12 and Capital Reef. I didn't find Bryce all that exciting.
That's a huge survey!
If money wasn’t a concern I’d probably live in Bellingham, Washington.
It's on my top five list!
B’ham isn’t that expensive is it? Although I live in Seattle, so………
What makes Bellingham that kind of attractive?
My top choices of where I have/had homes is Utah and Connecticut. There are many high quality areas throughout the country and I have traveled to most of them and hopefully these next few years will start a re-establishment of some of the areas which have been hurting as of late. Luv the video. ❤
I would live in New England or Pacific Northwest if money wasn’t an issue.
Agreed.
Where are all the white folks live
@@teddyghiotoI’m not white
@@TerryAnnOnline Exactly thats why you want to move there
@@teddyghioto nah.
I agree with San Diego, I lived there after I left the Navy,,,Pricy now....
Great job Briggs ❤❤❤😮😮😮😊😊😊
Really? It just started you haven't watched it yet.
Thank you!! 😁
@@WorldAccordingToBriggsif money was completely worthless and not an object I would be a nomad!
Tahoe, Mammoth, Jackson Hole, Big Sky I need to snowboard 😂
I’ve seen Tahoe….but personally I think Flathead Lake in NW Montana puts it to shame.
Love your videos!
I'd probably live in San Diego or Seattle if money were no object
Seattle weather sucks, the traffic is worse than terrible.
San Diego - but those California taxes 😬
I live in Seattle because I earn more here than I could anywhere else in the world. It’s pretty nice here if you’re into outdoors, but the population is overwhelmingly the roads pretty bad. The warm season is a little short for my liking. Basically July through September are the only shorts and sandals months where san-Diego is basically all year.
@@mylesgray3470 you may earn more but you also pay more to exist. And your money doesn’t get you out of the traffic or give you better weather.
@@timthompson8297 indeed. There is no perfect place. Believe me, I’ve tried to find one and always ended up coming back here. Being a high earner without kids, zero state income tax is a pretty huge benefit.
nice video, interesting how many different people rank these. couple of edits needed towards the end where names of cities pop up when you're talking about a different city.
Hoboken, Jersey City, or Guttenberg, NJ. Very underrated. What can I say I love my state of NJ. Great video!👍🏾
@javierclyburn5688 Almost put NJ on my comment, grew up in beautiful northeastern NJ, Bergen County in the 1950s and 60s and then lived near Princeton in the 1980s, which was lovely where my three kids were born. Sometimes I miss northeast NJ, grew up with so many great hills for sledding and riding bikes, gorgeous trees with all those squawky Blue Jays. Fell in love with my hometown, which I still love! Don't think my parents and siblings ever knew how much I loved it! lol Has always been highly populated, even more so now and way more expensive! "Home is where the heart is"!
♥♥♥♥
Too bad the original Blimpie location in Hoboken closed down.

Newport Beach or somewhere on Kauai
I was going to say Newport or Laguna
You are my spirit animal! I have live in San Diego and Park City, but you nailed it.
But I heard Newport Beach had very serious landslide issues...
23:39 Texas 🤠 , 24:39 utah look like cold city 😎👍🏻 what is the normal weather in this city? And i love San Diego ❤
