I wish all dogs were as fortunate as Pollux and Maxie. They are so happy. We have a salt and pepper Mini Schnauzer too and we love her so much. We lost our precious Peek A Poo almost two years ago and he tore toys up just like Pollux but Chloe is much easier on hers. Our Peek A Poo was Marco and we miss him so much. I can still hardly talk about him without crying. They give everything they have but the unconditional love is the BEST!

Hey Renee- l remember when you first got Pollux. He was unable to settle anywhere until you got the calming dog bed and he conked out and slept for a very long time. Now we see him on your bed, running in the yard, on the sun lounges and just loving life with Mooie ❤️ 🧡😊
We have a Bichon who squirms when we hold her and won't let you look her in the eyes and another one who won't quit staring at us. LOL!
I ran across the video you made when you adopted Pollux. What a sad start to what is now an extremely happy life. It's so wonderful that Pollux and your family found each other. There are so many dogs and cats that are in need of a home like yours. We all need love and affection , humans and animals alike.

We inherited a dog that nobody wanted. His name is Oliver. He’s a little white maltipoo, reminds me of your Maxxi. Oliver is the sweetest boy! He’ll be 15 on June 1st but since he’s been living with us, he acts so much younger! He knows he’s loved and that we aren’t going to get rid of him. Oliver only has 2 teeth! His teeth were so bad, he almost died from the infection. Oh well, their loss is our gain!
Animals know when they are really loved. That’s why Rescues make such wonderful pets. Wishing you many years with Oliver.

I have not watched the video yet but I'm going to say... happy because they are the most spoilt and loved pooches on the planet. Mooie and Pollox have everything they nead and more because Mom just dotes on them and they know they are love, love, loved everyday. Pollox has come on leaps and bounds since you first adopted him. Wonderful what a little TLC can do xxx

I have a funny story to tell. We had Great Danes and Irish Wolfhounds for many years and one of our Danes loved to "unstuff" toys and take the squeaker out. She'd leave them laying around the house and you'd be walking down the hall and step on a squeaky. It finally got to where we didn't curse and try to see what little critter we'd just stepped on. One day, she took a squeaker out into the yard (and we didn't know it). That night, we went out for the last time before bed (about 11 pm) and she went trotting out into the yard and stepped on that squeaker. She jumped about 5 feet in the air and came hauling boogie and hid behind us. It was so funny! We laughed and laughed at our "brave" Great Dane. Now that we're older (I'm in my mid 60's, my husband in his early 70's), we no longer have big dogs (now have an 8 1/2 pounder and an 11 1/2 pounder) but I sure do miss my "big 'uns"--not that I don't love our two now, I wouldn't trade them for the world.
Pollux really hit the jackpot when your family adopted him! You are a wonderful dog mommy!
In all fairness, the adoption of Pollux brought me to your RUclips channel. After that, I was hooked. It brightened my weekends as I got sicker and sicker, which took away all the things I loved to do. All I did was work. You and your family and dogs made me smile. Doctor in Atlanta thinks he has found my problem. If you are a woman of faith, please pray the med he has prescribed will help my food nourish my body now. Sending best wishes to you and yours! Such a lovely video ! I was awakened by rain thumping against my windows....it's an icky rainy morning, windy too, but it's going to end soon. In the meantime I get to enjoy an upload devoted entirely to happy pooches, which turns out to b the best antidote for this dreary morning I'm experiencing. I love to see Mooie playfully riled up---his little growly noises are so adorable.
We had those storms here during the night.....loud thunder scaring the boys. Hopefully yours will pass soon!

Ate breakfast while watching my new guilty pleasure - WELCOME TO MY CURLS. My own rescue pup has the exact same love for plush squeakie and crinkly toys and will tear them up EXACTLY like Pollux. Does not eat any part of the stuffing or fabric or squeaker but will demolish ANY toy and has a graveyard of toys that fill his toybox (those that he can't he's not too interested in). As for sweet M, loved seeing him loving on that catnip. Who knew? Thanks so much for being part of my morning.
I can't believe it's been three years since Pollux was adopted, he is a lucky boy to have sucha wonderful family. I think Pollux goes into a zone when he's playing with his toy, he has to get that stuffing out!! Maxxie knows he has to hide his toy from Pollux even though Pollux is such a good boy, he doesn't grab the toy from Maxxie. 🥰🥰🥰
Pollux is very respectful with the toys...but if Maxxie ever walks away from the toy...Pollux is there in a moment to check it out 🤣

I loved watching Maxxie play with you! Our Schnauboy loves toys, but after a few minutes he changes over to me and my hands, just the same way Maxxie plays, and he growls the same way. 💖
My first time seeing your videos. The one about you adopting Pollux came up on my RUclips videos to watch. Through the whole thing I could not figure out why Pollux was passed over and never adopted until you.
He's cute, he has a personality and seemed a very sweet dog.
I realize he was scared but, most dogs are at first. And anyone with a heart and brain would know it might take a bit to help him settle down. But, that does not seem like a big deal.
But, my dogs have been rescued dogs and with a bad background.
I guess it is true that people just want the perfect, ready made dog and if they have any quirks, or fears, ect they go right back to the shelter or are dumped. That is such a sad thought. But, I do think many people are like you who understand, will help them and have compassion and love.

I have a couple toy destroyers as well. I make them some toys with pieces of old denim, flannel, and even old pillow cases…mostly just scrap materials and layers with bits of stuffing between them and sometimes a squeaker or crinkly paper in between the layers it takes them a good while to destroy them completely. I still purchase them toys just to have a fun stuffing confetti pick up party from time to time but they seem to enjoy their hand made toys very well.

When you were checking out his toy boxes I could see that he didn't like the rubber toys, they looked too new and unused. So, now I'll look at the pet stores here to see what lovelies I can find for Pollux and what tasty treats will entice Maxxie. Thanks for sharing their lives and a bit of your family.

i have been following u for some time. admittedly i do not catch all your videos. This a.m. 12/31/22, i serendipitously stumbled upon your happy dog video. I love dogs. They r the most forgiving species God put on the earth. Let's start w/t Mooie? he is loved, protected, cared for in every way. at 11 1/2 y/o he is as energetic as a pup. Pollux is an animal who was probably starting to give up. When u and your family saw him on the shelter video, he was begging for a home. The Hadleys as a group welcomed this poor lonely doggie into your beautiful home. From that day forward, Pollux has thrived, he is a happy doggie, well supplied w/love, food, toys, attention, etc. this, in my estimation is why your doggies r so happy. I think that Mooie? has gotten frisker because he has a playmate. the exercise enervates Mooie, and keeps him young, frisky and soooo handsome. Happy New Year to the Haydens and the pups.
I had a Jack Russell Terrier, who had a PhD in de-stuffing his stuffed animals. He used a systematic approach to de-stuffing; eyes first, then the nose, then the belly. A stuffed toy would be de-stuffed in one day.

Good morning! When the toys are completely out of stuffing and he's just dragging around a rag....I will throw them out.
I have 16 dogs at the present time with most of them strays. For toys I go to thrift stores and buy the stuff toys. Most are less than a dollar and I go through 25 plus a in month. And yes they are all house broken and stay in the house with me
Aw, you know how to melt our hearts, Renee! Your two babies are the sweetest boys! Well, except for my friend ↖️! I’ve had a lot of dachshunds over my lifetime, but he is the first who destroys EVERY toy, just like Pollux. Even the ones that are designed with the super strong lining for big dog, aggressive chewers. He just gives a sweet look of “thank you” then drags it off to his lair where he immediately goes into Terminator mode. He was a rescue, too, and he LOVED the first toy I gave him. He had it stripped and gutted within 5 minutes, but he carried the skeleton around for about 6 months. Then he started working on slowing reducing its size every couple of days and within a week, all that was left was a pair of embroidered eyes with a strip of matted, fuzzy fabric connecting them! 😂😂😂 He was highly indignant when it was removed… He began eating the stuffing, so all toys but the hard, solid ones are out. He does love the Jolly bone (yellow for him, but probably blue for Pollux) to chew on and he has a small supply. He keep them close to him and arranges them in his bed (when he crosses them, I laugh - all that’s missing is a skull) and he sleeps with one under his head at night. I hate that he can’t have the kind of toys he likes😢
Mooie is just the sweetest! I love to watch him play! I’m absolutely fascinated by his of catnip! I don’t think I’ve ever known a dog who loves it like he does. He’s been such a great big brother, teaching Pollux how to be a dog who lives in a home and is unconditionally loved. And he’s so generous with Pollux. Just as sweet as can be.
PS You’re pretty generous and sweet, too, so they have a great role model. 💕

Chickuhlay!! My favorite! What’s your standard order, Renee? Mine is a #4, 3-count, with sweet tea.
My dog Ralphie treats toys the exact same way Pollux does. The first thing to get chewed off is the ears. He pulls with his teeth exactly like Pollux does. Then it’s full-on destruction until whatever it once was is unrecognizable.
LOL Amelia! I usually get 8 nuggets...sometimes a sandwich...and even the soup. I'm an unsweet tea gal :)
