@@ram5551555 the fish hibernate and burrow underground when it's dry season. They go into a stasis of deep sleep in a wet/muddy condition underground where they are able to survive.
The fish don't move - some of them because they are in this deep state - however when disturbed they enter out of this state (wake up) which is why some start moving and others don't.

The fish go into a deep sleep when the whole dries up. They are very sluggish at this time as it takes hours for them to ramp up. They become active on the next wet season. Think of it like hibernation. All those fish were alive.
