The American Battlefield Trust preserves America’s hallowed battlegrounds and educates the public about what happened there and why it matters. We permanently protect these battlefields for future generations as a lasting and tangible memorial to the brave soldiers who fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.
Loved the narrative and maps, as well as the photos!
This is one of the best videos summing up a battle that you’ve ever done. I like the use of maps, photos of the place then, excerpts from your own videos. This should be done more.
Dang this development!! Anyway, great job Kris, you really did a terrific job of detailing the topography. The pic with the teensy flag and spire at .8mi worked well. Really helped with perspective. 👍
A descendant of the Howison's, Henry Howison is a member of our CWRT! (San Joaquin Valley CWRT).
We visited this area several times. It's sad how much concrete and asphalt have taken over this hallowed ground.
Yes,
I'm a member of the trust 🇺🇸
This is a pivotal battlefield. We need to save as much of it as we can acquire.
Thank you Kris, I do what I can for you guys. When I can. And General Lee almost being killed by friendly fire and The Union canon ball not exploding. You all do such a awsome job. On these documentaries.
💯❤️👊👍
I hope that developers and landowners invite metal decectorists to these properties to save the history that would be built upon or just ignored.
That ride around Lee's Army wasn't that the assignation attempt on Davis and his administration in Richmond.
Love the History
Any chance somehow we can reclaim more and more of the land in front of Marye's heights? We got to preserve our past!
We need to preserve every acre that we can get...before there's no hope of saving any ground at all.
I think what he meant to say when the Park was founded, not the town. But he should have made that clear from the outset. As he said it, it comes across as confusing.
This was fantastic. I am curious if those or some tress could be removed to see what Lee and Barksdale could see from that position?
Outstanding!!!! Who was the “ Grant” that was assaulting Bsrksdales position?
It’s sad that there is such a limited amount of land that historical events have taken place on compared to not taken place on, and there are modern concrete buildings that can be built anywhere just taking up these historically important sites, makes me so annoyed
When I asked the guide where the 20th Maine were during the first battle of Fredericksburg, he said it’s where the 7-11 is. That really bugged me.
✌️
A voice over narration would be nice instead of this podcast deal slightly annoying.
