We have to remember these jackets and pants are meant to protect us from rain, wind, the cold, and windshield factor on a motorcycle. These are the top performing jackets on the market. Also, these jackets will allow you to be outside in low temperature weather and snow. Considering the windshield protection, these jackets will perform fantastic when you are off the bike.
Rukka gore tex 700 pound jacket and 500 pound trousers-after 1 hour in rain sitting on bike you get wet at belly opening of connecting zip with trousers, neck top fabrick gets wet, pockets get wet even closed after some time of use, front main zip warranty replaced after 1 year every day use
Good idea for testing the product. Have you done anything to compare gore tex products across the price range rather than just these which are at the top end price wise? Much as I like these, they are out of my price range and it would be great to see how other products fare.
I have the rukka an mine leaks around the elbow creases and slightly around chest..zip rings/pulleys broke..oh an maine zip ripped at bothom..6yr gaurantee is great but a pain to send back..costly gear...maybe its not made to be out in all kinds of weather for 9hrs a day 5days a wk..in fairness to rukka they replaced the first gear i had an upgraded it to the newer stuff .marine zip1 as the other gear was discontinued leaked afew months later tho..nowadays i wear rain gear over them😩
I ride to work everyday there and back takes 45mins eachway this year it rained heavy for 2weeks straight.... my question is how does it hold up in long periods of rainy days ?
I can answer that. I've owned my Rukka jacket and pants for 3 and a half years I ride 2 hours every day mostly on the motorway I have never had a drop of water come in. I've been on long tour's over weeks and never had an issue 👍
Hhhmmm... sometimes time in the rain plays a huge part in letting water in. I once had a cheap waterproof jacket and trouser, which did pretty well whenever I was was in the rain for around 20-30minutes. However, any longer than that and I could feel the rain coming in. This test was only for a few minutes, even though it was at high pressure. Would interesting to know what that was equivalent to
I am afraid we don't know the calculations there - but we do know how good Gore-Tex is - especially Rukka. This is premium Gore-Tex kit that holds up to it's premium reputation.
Honestly, sitting down in a shower would be a more realistic test. Pressure washers are big on just that, pressure. But it's the VOLUME of water during the rain and sustained volume that causes water to start to seep into any cracks and crevices...
Any where you test these suits they will be dry, I drove a 2012 Armas for 170.000km and lot's of rain km's. Never a single spot that was wet. Rukka is definitly one of the top 3 motorcycle suits.
Hi there - you need to use Nikwax Tech Wash first to get rid of all salt and soap granules etc then use Nikwax TX-Direct to reproof and follow all the instructions carefully and it should be like new!
This is the Northwich (Oakmere) branch. The helmet, boots and gloves are already at the Newcastle branch. The Rukka Navigatorr jacket and trousers are new in and will be there on their next delivery!
Pressure washer at that distance is simply very mild rain as most of the velocity of the water is lost at that distance. This is hardly a test, more like a party trick, if you want to impress me keep that pressure washer on for 8 hours and 6 inches away.
I'm not sure anyone would watch for 8 hours, but if you are volunteering...😉 Thanks for watching though and we will bear your criticisim in mind for the next time we test the products.
I have witnessed a pub's harden tables after someone jet washed them. It looked as if someone had gone on a stabbing frenzy with a handful of steak knives. Their public liability insurance policy picked up a nice bill
Shame my Rukka gear isn't as waterproof as that. Leaked twice within the first 12 months and after today's rain, leaked again. Not from J&S I may add though, just the brand not living upto expectation
We would definitely advise you to take it back to the store you bought it from, did you register the 6 year warranty with Rukka? You would also have had a years warranty from the shop you bought it from and if it leaked twice within the first 12 months they should definitely sort this for you!
@@jandsaccessories30 I have sent it back twice but it's away for over a month at a time. They even said and what shall we do if they don't agree it leaks! Just disappointed after spending over a grand on something expecting it to be waterproof and it wasn't. And yes, got the 6 year warranty. I want it replaced, not repaired
Well as an ex sailor ( sailboats ) let me tell you that the British Admiralty once did a test on the colour of Buoys in the channels at night, and they found that one of the best and easiest to see was the colour Black, so don't knock the Black it can be seen. Bob in the uk

Great review. It would be good to see some of the lower priced laminates such as the Richa Infinity Pro 2 put through the same test as a comparison.

I'd love to own a set of rukka gear but I just can't afford it. Would be great if you could do a similar test with lower priced gear too
Now that's a great review
Well done. Interesting to know but wouldn't a lot of new jackets pass this anyway - regardless of cost?
Fantastic product. What a test 😃😀
£25 mountain warehouse waterproof high viz over any bike jacket does the job & is much more visible.
I like this model. But I want to buy the 2020 model. There is no navigator in the 2020 Rukka catalog. Which model meets this water resistance feature

Which j&s is this?
My local store newcastle has nowhere near this range of rukka

Please don't try the 6" test you pressure washer will cut through wood at that distance

You enjoyed that too much 😂
Why didn't you test this with him sitting on a bike. After all that's what position we sit in. This test is great if you don't own a bike!
Watch this space.

Just wish they didn't break filming near end to resume to show result
3min blast ???? How real is that 😀😀😀 compare that with 1h driving 120kmh
Superb!😂😂😂

Too short of exposure time, didn’t prove anything. Also wasn’t much pressure from that nozzle.

Why always black gear 🤔; we need to be seen by others & we dont want to cook in our jacket under the sun!

is that why they made them all red?
