Thank you for this. I listened to your video on Peter Watts' blindsight. It helped me understand so many things that I've missed. You are awesome, thank you again!
I will refrain from watching the video entirely for now for I am in the middle of this novel, but for anyone in my shoes, I was confused at why the narrative had shifted so drastically I figured from the opening it was set on Earth and we’d be receiving what their thoughts on Thesius’s journey was (either throughout as it happened or it was set after or near Keatons return) but from what I’m finding it’s just an entirely different story focus, which is a let down to think about; but I hold out hope “If we can second guess vampires we wouldn’t need vampires”
It is best to look at this book as what is going on back in the inner solar system, while the Thesius is on its trip out and dealing with things out there.
@@MadFabe This timeframe intrigues me for it ties into the ending of Blindsight and what Keaton will be returning to eventually, after my consumption of the novel I’ll come back for your summarization and I thank you for replying, Blindsight ensnared my curiosity I look forward to learning the series through and through with your summarizations to help
He was speaking about the fireflies, then the nations of Earth got together and built the Theseus and sent it off in a hurry it was launched a year later.
Both stories happened within the same time frame. When Echopraxia begins and Bruks talked about the fireflies the Theseus was just crossing the orbit of Pluto. So Echopraxia begins 14 years into the story in Blindsight and then runs concurrently with it. By the end of Echopraxia Siri Keeton in Blindsight was on his way back in the escape shuttle.
The thing that confuses people is that the events in both books are happening at about the same time. It seems that the aliens are trying to cure humans.
@@MadFabewell i haven't gotten to the whole "curing humans theory" part 😅 Spoiler alert i guess 😂 I did however understand it's happening at the same time as the first novel. I'm starting the "Prey" chapter and i still feel the whole thing so far has been kinda pointless dialog and boring.🤷♂️
@@MadFabe yeah I agree. Blindsight was great. This has largely been boring and constant description of things that don't seem to advance the plot. Half the time i don't even know what's going on which is why i've had to use your video. Anyway, i got to the Predator chapter and Im just gonna listen to rest on your video. I've wasted enough time on this novel

I have just finnished Echopraxia and your video was very helpful to catch few things :) Thank you for this wonderful summary
Thanks for checking it out.
Valerie was trying to create a companion. I never really understood that until now, thank you for that.
Thanks for checking out the channel.
Thank you. This was great and helped me catch a few details I missed before
Glad it was helpful and thanks for checking out the channel.

In the very beginning of book 2, Brüks is talking to himself and says the theseus was 14 yrs ago, or was he talking about the fireflies?
He was speaking about the fireflies, then the nations of Earth got together and built the Theseus and sent it off in a hurry it was launched a year later.
@@MadFabe oh ok so theseus and this book isn’t happening at once then like you said in the video

Good job I really enjoyed your video
Thank you.
Great video & your accent is cool 👍🏻
Thank you.
I'm halfway through but i'm checking my understanding so far bec Im feeling a little lost. So far, not nearly as good as Blindsight
