My wife just passed this vid to me. It's an incredibly ingenious project and the man deserves an award! My only negative is that the idea of using an mpv as a small camper is so that you have a bed, cooking facilities and a porta potty that can all be packed away quickly so as to get on your way or go exploring in the car..

First I thought this was silly, then by halfway I love it. Well done. Not made for quick getaways, but a great proof of concept. You need to take that to a design house /fabricator, to try and reduce the complexity as you could be on to a winner there.

We have an old Berlingo on our small parking stand and which we can't put swivel seats into, so we've discounted it for camping. Never in my wildest dreams could my talented hubby build this!

Respect, awesome campervan conversion. Especially for people under 170cm.....:-) When I sleep in my Peugeot Partner I need all the space from the rear door to the steering wheel. I am 189cm (approx. 6´3).

It beats my reclining the front seat and cracking open a cold one. But hungover the next day I prefer my winding back the front seat to all that he has to do. Not that I would ever drive like that - no way.
At first I thought this was a cumbersome factory-built version but now I know he made it...fantastic. I would just add a little awning on the back in which to put a chemical toilet and a pump camping shower (or basically a 5l or bigger garden spray) which work very well, you just fill them with 40% boiled water (so 2L) and the rest cold and you have a nice 5 minute hot shower, then it would be perfection and self contained meaning you don't have to stay on a proper campsite.
Maybe you could show a real time set-up, because the video is over five minutes and all the cuts in those five minutes make it seem like it takes half an hour or more. The setup is truly brilliant though. I want to do something with my Nissan NV200 which is slightly bigger than the Berlingo, but since I'm a tall man, I can't quite figure out how to get a long enough sleeping surface when the front seats can't be turned around. Your setup shows me a solution for that.

Very nice job! However, I feel that the idea of not having to bother with the installation of a tent is being lost, as the installation of all the panels is taking up a fair amount of time. Instead I tow a small caravan behind my Berlingo, which leaves the car free for shopping and trips.
I've dreamed of something like that, but I just didn't know how to accomplish it! This guy must be a Engineer or a Genius.... one or the other, or maybe both!
I agree. Too much work. Considering this is all just showing small clips of each step, I wonder if it takes a lot longer than 15 minutes to set up. Try doing that in the rain when you've pulled into a camping ground after a 3-hour drive!
I really liked this, specially the opportunity to draw the whole kitchen out but its still possible to cook inside if the weather is bad, In most of the videos for this small vans I have seen the kitchen are made only for use outside.. Not for living i Norway I can guarantee :) This solution may be best for the longer versions of these cars, like the Caddy Maxi, Ford Connect L2 etc...

No, trust me it's a total non starter. There is absolutely nothing meritorious about this - other than it kept the builder occupied for months.

Too much trouble to set up for just one night, but it looks to be well worth it for staying a few nights in the same place.
It is not much trouble to set it up. One person do it easy in less than 5 min.
