Buffy and Angel: one of the greatest ships of all time. He loved her the moment he saw her... normally I don't like the whole love at first sight concept, but with Buffy and Angel, it was just magical. It was real and pure and exactly what true love is. Buffy and Angel are soul mates, being with her literally gave him perfect happiness and the only reason he left her was to give her the life he thought she deserved. I doubt either of them will ever love anyone else the way they loved each other. It's a real shame they never ended up together. I can only hope they get back together before the comics end.
I sort of gave up on Bangel ever really getting their happy ending even BEFORE the Spuffy. I think what I hate so much about that couple actually being a thing in the comics is it contradicts why Angel left in the first place. Like how is Spike any different than him?
RomanceGirl6666 I haven't read the comics yet, but unless they found a way to remove the happiness clause, I agree if Bangel happened it would contradict the reason why Angel left in the first place. The reason I think Spike is different from him is how he got his soul; he wasn't cursed with it, so there was no happiness clause. However, something really unrealistic about Spike getting his soul is his reaction afterwards. I know he feels guilt for a while, but he seems to get over it so fast and continues to act just like he always did, minus wanting to kill people, whereas Angel and Angelus are polar opposites. I think it's probably for the purpose of the writers not wanting to alter a character many people loved exactly the way he was, but it's kind of unrealistic considering Angel's reaction to getting his soul back. People try to say Angel was much worse as Angelus, and perhaps this true, but that didn't mean they both weren't monsters who murdered babies when they had no souls. The fact that Spike doesn't have a much worse reaction to his guilt makes Angel out to be the better person of the two, in my personal opinion.
FireAngel Dragon: Okay, so Spike can give her sex. That can only go so far. Spike is in the end still a vampire who can't ever give her a real future. It's a complete waste of time and goes against everything that was established at the end of S3. I only accept Buffy being with either if they become human. I want Bangel, but I'm willing to wait for the right circumstances. You understand why I resent the fact Spuffy somehow gets a free pass. I know it's only in the comics and not the show, but still.

It was always supposed to be "his" prophecy and fulfills what both Buffy and Angel the main characters want: Buffy's need for a normal, long-lasting relationship with someone she loves and Angel's need for redemption. But Joss doesn't believe in happy endings so who knows if that will ever happen :/
I'm so so so glad that I'm not the only one that loves Bangel this much. I started watching this show a few weeks ago and I'm already completely and utterly in love with these two. I don't think I've ever seen a couple this powerful and this beautiful. And I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees it. ❤
I so agree with you about Bangel. Buffy and Angel are a iconic coupling that I still love 20+ years later and having watched the WHOLE show (and spinoff) countless times throughout the years, nothing or no other has EVER made me change my mind. 😊
