The time zone change from FL to Hawaii is a killer when going all the way over there for vacation. Maybe hang out in CA for a few days before Hawaii to lessen the jet lag. Definitely visit other Hawaiian islands because they all have their own charm. Cant wait for Adam in Hawaii!!
Ever time I do the math for dvc, it's always the maintenance fees that prevent me from committing. As for Aulani, you're going to love it. It's a beautiful place
You didn't mention annual dues, which for 2023 will be 150 X $8.50 for GF $1,275; 250 X $9 .14 for HI $2,285 and 100 X $7.33 for GF $733, or $3,283 per years. Now that's $273 or so per month, may not be a concern to some, but it doesn't go away and only goes up each year.
That’s exactly why I decided against DVC. I’d rather save that money and go on whatever vacation I want rather than be committed to Disney. But I also understand why it makes sense for some people.
I think it’s simple, some people love being in the Disney bubble, it relieves one of the need for decision making? One other thing, points purchases are real estate transactions, so you have to pay closing costs. It’s not for me, and when I did a little research, the real costs were eye opening. But! If you want pre paid vacays in a brand name bubble, it’s there for the taking @ $217 a point plus costs!
500 points?!? I’m a DVC member as well and going to Aulani in early 2023. I recommend taking your dad and mom to Hawaii. Aulani is my home resort and a different experience from the others. Hope to see some vlogs from there in the near future! 🤙🏻
We rode the train on it’s very last day of operation on December 3, 2018!!! So it’s been nearly FOUR years since it closed to guests.🥺 Can’t wait for it to reopen!
So happy for you Adam. You're living your best life. I'm sure you'll have some great memories with your folks at the resorts as well. Love ya man and all you do.
I am soooo happy for you, Adam!! You're living the life I wish I had. I can't wait to watch you go around the world and visit all the Disney Parks! Super excited for you to go to Aulani too. Looking forward to your adventures!! ❤️
I grew up being lucky enough to stay at the Wilderness Lodge a few times. It makes going to the parks feel more magical. The resorts alone are great places to check out!
Eventually Adam will just be living on Disney Properties. I can imagine him walking around as the Disney version of The Dude. Disney robe and a thermal detonator Coke.
Actually the Disney Parks have a guy dressed up as Walt Disney that walks the park and meet Mickey Mouse etc. Waaaay back in the beginning Walt had a Apartment above the Fire Station in Disneyland. He USED to walk around the park.
That conductor cast member was definitely one of your fans. Awwww that's so sweet! You could tell he knew exactly who you were, and you totally made his day!
DVC Add-On-Itis is real! We started with one OKW contract two years ago and now also have Poly & Copper Creek. Doing our first stay at the Riviera next month, so who knows if there could be a fourth! Congrats Adam on your new DVC points!
Congratulations on the purchase of more DVC points, Adam! The Aulani points you purchased is really exciting news...I just know you will LOVE Hawaii!! Great news, my friend!!!!
Your excitement and enthusiasm has made me smile. I am very happy for you. Have fun with your DVC points. I can experience them vicariously through you.
I lived in Oahu Hawaii as a kid on the NAVY base, my dad was NAVY, I learned a Polynesian dance in school, you will love seeing Hawaii, and I will enjoy seeing it through your vlogs, Disney Train engine sounded a bit crunchy when it passed you backing up, that made us chuckle when Donny and I said it's crunching, and I love a steam engine ride, I think I was on that train many years ago
I like the walk and talk Adam even your back roads showing the small towns that are being abandoned or little of anyone. Lol thanks for sharing this video today . Staying Safe
Adam, your living the dream, bro. I would love to buy points in the long foreseeable future. I appreciate your knowledge of DVC. People have told me time and again that time sharing is not good to buy, but it all depends how you use it and what your mentality is and how honesty you want to make good use of it. It’s not for everyone, and it should not be viewed as an opportunity for most people. Definitely a decision that needs to be well thought out. Keep up the good vibes bro.
Super excited for your Aulani purchase. You will absolutely love it! HOWEVER, have you considered purchasing resale points instead of direct points from DVC. I just looked at dvcstore and dvcresale and they have 250 point contracts from about $115 to $122 per point. And, if you purchased on 11/16 new price incentives came out on 11/17 so you should have been able to get $41 off per point (info on the disney vacation club website). You could use this savings toward your Disney Tower purchase because it's going to have to be purchased direct for at least the first few years until resale is available. I know you've already purchased, but you can still rescind the contract if you do it immediately. (I think that Florida give you seven days? That info should be in your purchase paperwork) Ok, so none of this is my business, but I love stretching my travel dollars so I get to travel even more! Either way, be careful going to Hawaii because once you go you'll just want to go more and more!
Adam, Many, many years ago there was only ever to be just the one D.V.C. Resort on property. That was Key West and thats why it sprawls so much. We used to fly out of L.A. to Hawaii on Delta Airlines. Even though we were in economy on take off we were all served a free glass of Champagne. Delta was very good but I often wondered what Hawiian Airlines was like as they used to win a lot of travel awards on this leg. Each hotel had it's own Happy Hour throughout the day from 10 a.m. We'd start at one hotel and as each happy hour changed work our way to each hotel along the line. Mai Tai heaven. The reason the train spends most of it's time going back and forth over this small area of track? It's bedding in the new sleepers and ballast. Cheers, Chris Perry.
I’m so excited for you, you will absolutely love aulani and exploring the island, amazing hikes , we used the all trails app and found beautiful and secluded waterfalls
Congrats on your DVC purchase. I started with 100 points at Bay Lake in like 2012. Today I have 520 at Bay Lake. I never regret my purchase. I also never had issues booking at other resorts at 7 months.
Adam if you are going to purchase additional points , it's also better to buy small contracts of 25 , 30 , 40 , 50 point contracts as they would be retain a higher value if resold as well as easier to resell smaller contracts.
And there is me and my fiance standing right behind you also watching the railroad, he's mad for trains so he loved watching it too. He turned round and said to me, "That's Adam the Woo" lol
Congratulations on the Aulani points! I suggest you stay at Aulani first then California because otherwise you need to spend the night somewhere on way home from Aulani (or a redeye) due to time change.. Just something to keep in mind for planning purposes!
Congratulations Adam with you buying all your points I hope using them bring you so much happiness and I do hope you go to Hawaii it’s so beautiful I’ve been there twice once by plane ✈️ and the other by taking a cruise which by the way I hope that one day you’ll take a cruise 🚢 they’re so much fun and you would probably like the Disney cruise anyways good luck utilizing your new points now with that being said peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure wherever it takes you peace ☮️ out ✌️
Hong Kong will blow your mind Adam! I would love to see you go there! It feels so different than other large cities, that I've seen; London, New York, Rio etc. Thanks for explaining DVC like you did, I think I get it now.
The Aulani is a beautiful relaxing resort and the north shore is one of my favorite places to visit. I’ve been so many times and there is nothing like watching the sun set on the north shore. Make sure to get the delicious pancakes at AMA AMA! Congrats!
Thank you for your video. Also for explaining the DVC points. I have been interested in purchasing. I also have never been to Hawaii. Lol I have been to California a lot. But always wanted to go to Hawaii. On my bucket list. Have a good day! 😊Love seeing the train ❤
Do you remember when they were building Spkash Mountain and the new Frontierland train station? The train continued to run but backwards! It only went from Mickey’s Starland to Main Street Station and then reversed back to Starland. I still have guidemaps where they showed the tracks pulled up beside Pirates. I still remember the original Frontierland station and all the space that was around it.
Hawaii is amazing. AND remember Sydney Australia is only 10 hours away from there also. Our studio in Sydney got the Disney branding put up only a few weeks ago. No rides, only a Downtown type of vide. Not much there but I am sure that will improve.
Looking forward to your videos from Vero Beach resort. Had a great time at Hilton Head after seeing your videos from there… before your video I didn't even know they had a resort on Hilton Head!
Aulani is amazing, and a bit reason i ended up buying more DVC points after visiting. It is the best Disney resort on the planet and going to Hawaii the first time was a life changing experience.
Disneyland monorail used to stop at the Disneyland hotel and then they change the route. Too bad Disneyland didn't buy more land when they had the chance. I guess they didn't realize how big it was going to be later. I love Hawaii, the weather is great there. I've been to Hawaii twice, the first time I went in April, we did something every day, we did a submarine ride, we went horseback riding, we did a sunset Cruise, we did a luau, we did a helicopter ride. The weather is just beautiful at night, breezy and warm.
Awesome to hear you’ll be getting points at Aulani! We live on Oahu and I’m a former cast member that worked at Aulani! We would love to show you around when you eventually come to Hawaii… join us, Shall you?? We love your content and videos!! Aloha, Kimo
Big DVC advantage is holiday reservations, those 4 months are great to insure Spring break or Christmas... very hard to get for regular hotels. That is what drives demand when a new DVC hotel is added. You(Adam) take advantage of low points required for off season DVC properties, but don't need to reserve for holidays as you live nearby
While we own at GFV, we've been to Aulani twice. It is my favorite Disney Resort. We've thought about buying at Aulani, might pull the trigger one day.
Best thing I did when I was in Hawaii was on the mainland you can drive through the clouds. One minute you're in shorts the next minute you are in a winter jacket it is so cold up there. But the view is amazing being past the clouds you can see everything. There is a stop off with a telescope and hot chocolate and some other history and then you can go up even higher.
Congratulations on buying DVC at Aulani. Enjoy. 😀I have heard that resort is beautiful and I have relatives that live on Oahu that tell me how beautiful Hawaii is. Those islands are definitely on my bucket list. One day hopefully.

Can’t Disney just raise the amount of points needed to stay at a resort or are those point amounts fixed until 2060s?
They stay pretty much the same . A 15 point room will be about the same in ten years as it was 10 years ago
