  • More than 13,000 Paratroopers would land across Normandy on the morning of June 6, 1944. But how did the pilots of the C-47 aircraft taking them there know where to drop them? An elite group of paratroopers known as Pathfinders were dropped in before the main invasion, their task was to set up beacons and lights to guide the pilots. In this video, we look at the brave D-Day US Pathfinders.
