Shortest distance under earth geometry is the distance along the great circle(meridian) via the north or south pole. With this definition in mind, that makes me to question the accuracy or authenticity of your calculations.
🙋I have a question sir. What about in the case where (π) is given and (R) as well and the question is to find the shortest distance along either latitude or longitude. Is (π) supposed to be included in the formula or just using the same procedure you've shown here?
I have seen a situation where distance is considered along the great circle. Why are we not having an element of π and 360 when we know that the earth is spherical. Am lost. I am getting a different answer when I consider the path along the great circle. Please help.
You're a savior.

Using the same procedure will much better....send the question to my WhatsApp number. +260969175701
There's no shortest distance along a latitude. Shortest distance is always along a great circle.
Sir How can u answer 2016 GCE, q12b (iii)a
Thanks a lot sir

Thank you so much sir for your work, I loved method 2 as it is easy to figure out by using the knoweledge from trig.
Thank you sir ❤️❤️❤️
What if the latitudes of the points is different? For example 20 degrees south and 60 degrees north?
Thanks sir
This video had low volume that we failed to get it
How have you found that
Good day
Were did the R came from
We are given in the question
Find the longest distance if what you have found is the shortest distance
Sir I am not up to date please 🎉🎉
I mean 6370
