I wouldn't say 1.b3 was such a bad opening!? LOL! It certainly was for Black here as he/she broke opening principles & underestimated your knowledge & ability & the potential of this opening. Openings like the St George defence 1.e4 a6 or Busch Gass Gambit etc etc are more what I would call bad openings but your advice on mindset for playing against these dubious openings is helpful. NB I found Carlsen vs Vidit Gujarathi 1.b3 d5 0-1 140223 as a bonus consequence of this vid-remember to learn as much from losses as from your wins THANKS ;-)
Spending time and money on OTB is like saying to yourself that you are serious. I am shifted away from thinking about chess as a pure entertainment pastime.

@@salemtv5808 At some point every chess player who gets beyond beginner level will have to decide whether they will stick to popular major openings or look at offbeat stuff. We can argue it both ways. I recommend buying a course even if you don't see many of the lines in your games (like me) because they force you to understand why certain moves are bad or inaccurate.

Best analogy ever in start of the video! 😂. Thanks for more playing tips!

I’m waiting for all the trolls to talk about the rubbish openings I play 😂 (1 b3 and 1… b6).
Informative
Has your recent OTB experience changed your approach to chess improvement? 🙏🙏

@@LightSquares If chess became anything but pure entertainment, I don't think I could play it.

Good video
Tyler1 is 1500 with a small center opening somehow.
But he is capable of playing 20 10+0 games per day so he is not a representative example.
I didn't understand this message.
