The answer is simple. There are a lot more vandals and destructive people in "underserved" communities than there are in higher-income neighborhoods. Therefore, anything and everything in low-rent areas is destroyed. It's the culture and attitude of the inhabitants that is the difference.

They’re increasing parking spaces. Imagine those same CitiBike commuters parking their personal pickup truck instead of docking a bike that someone else can use later
Is not that Lift put more emphasis on rich neighborhoods, is that people on lower income area damage, steal, and don't really care about anything and make the entire company look like if is company fault!!
In the last month they’ve added 4 stations in my neighborhood… but there’s not even one bike at any of them.. I was excited when they built one across the street from me but got instantly disappointed when there’s not one bike for me to rent
City Bike used to always be out fixing bikes and also have a nice reunion for City Bike Angel. Lyft is a disaster, there are bikes abandoned all over the city. Shame!
I had to take an e-bike home at 3AM because it would not lock. I contact customer service and they told me they would come and pick up the bike from my apt, but after a week, and me contacting numerous times they never once contacted me for the bike. Eventually I just took it to a station and left it there.

And their used by criminals lyft has to tend to that issue too. and isn't really the service it's the users i see these on the ground along with lime, veo and bird by lazy people i go out of my way to pick them up cause someone has to. Sad Veo hasn't refunded me for using unsafe scooters tho.

I never used Citibike , but I know I see the bikes in the train station all the time. Some people steal and keep it for their own...
It's so dumb, the classic bike is barely useable, and the ebike is entirely unusable once the battery is drained and no way to charge.
And many use them as get aways prob with stolen credit cards i assume.
