I’m a little upset that no one recommended me this drama when it first came out. I just now binged watched it in 2020. What a masterpiece.
That’s bc they’re the lot who dk how to appreciate real genuine and raw dramas like this they’re lame ppl who only watch cliche korean romance dramas
Me too.. I just have viu account in this second midle 2020 and sometime the poster of this drama appear on screen, saveral time i just skip but the poster really like pull me to open. And with no expectation i watched eps 1, and boomb I cant't stop to watched it. I feel like blessed huhu :')
I've just recently finished watching it in 2021 😌 I've never even heard of it before, i was browsing thru Netflix and just clicked out of curiosity. That one episode turned to two and the next thing I knew I binged all 16 ep in two days. So glad I clicked on this show. 🤍 it truly is an exceptional drama series. Just stellar

After feeling so dejected about humanity during these times, I didn't expect to smile, cry, laugh and feel comforted by a type of series I've never watched before. I'm scared to go out into the real world because I don't think I have the strength to become good right now but at least while watching this, I felt like people will largely be okay. That we should be kind and good always for the sake of being kind and good and keeping humanity as something nice and good. I have a lot of gratitude to the creators and actors of this show. Thank you.

I just finished this show, literally one minute ago and the way it pulled at my heart is unexplainable by words. I only hope that others can feel the same passion that the director aimed to portray through this piece
I’ve just finished this drama and boy what a masterpiece!! I loved it so much. I didn’t know how to feel about Lee Ji-an at the beginning, she seemed so cold and unattached, and Park Dong-hoon seemed so sweet and caring. By episode 3 I was completely sold and rooting for them til the very end. What a comforting beautiful drama even if it’s so sad and depressing at times. I fell completely in love with PDH! That open end was perfect!

Came here after watching IU as guest in "Joy of Conversation". She was actually going through a lot emotionally and physically during the filming that she almost gave up finishing the drama. She said that late 2017 and early 2018 was hard for her and she was ill that she even have to be hospitalized...but the director's understanding and kind words eventually encouraged her to continue and film it till the end!..if I was to guess...I think it has something to do with her friend Jonghyun's death...I'm just glad IU was able to pass through the phase and was able to stand back again😊
Thank you to everyone (writer, director, actors/actresses, film crew, etc.) who was involved in the production of "My Mister" for bringing about a TV drama that reflects so well the difficulties people face in their daily lives and the efforts they make to survive against all odds. Also, it was really amazing to see IU challenge herself by playing the role of a poor, hopeless young woman and killing it. Well done!
Three years ago, when I was in middle school, I heard my mom talking about this drama and I wasn't at all intrigued. Three years later, I watched it and it became my favorite korean drama of all time.I just wish I had watched it earlier.Such a masterpiece
your past, no matter how grim (ji-an's), should not dictate your future, if you know/learn to maneuver the path to take, to overcome the challenges. as what's shown in this drama, a man (dong-hoon) unknowingly (at first) changes ji-an's outlook in life, through his kindness and care/concern towards her. due to its complication (age difference) the ending was thrown to the viewers how they wish it to end. to ji-an, she found the light at the end of the tunnel thru her self-determination and was able to uplift her situation ; while dong-hoon walk thru' his struggles to change his life for the better. THEN they meet once again afterwards.... did this happen in real life ??? IT CAN !!!! the story as it unfolds are relatable and so moving, nothing seems to be impossible..... great storytelling, great performances all around !!!!!
My favourite actor Lee Sun Kyun. I can't believe he's not with us anymore. I watched him since Pasta drama series. My mister is one of the best korean drama. IU should get Oscar for her character in this drama series. Recommended 💯

Watching this drama i felt like everything that came out of the characters was so genuine for a moment i forgot that they are acting. The chemistry and warmth between those two/ the trio brothers/ she and her grandma/ even with the loanshark guy really tops most of the other Kdramas i’ve seen. Having seen the stiffness/hostility of the leads in the 1st-2nd ep i didn’t expect to let out a single tear by the time i reach the 5th ep. This show is quite draggy and sometimes lacks liveliness when it comes to the main leads, but that’s where the brothers fill in. It takes a while for something big to happen but it’s only bc things like tht doesn’t happen tht fast irl either. And it’s prbbly bc the creators know and understand that u can’t rush a good show or make the characters look desperate or contradict the nature of the characters and bc it’s all worth watching and every episode gets better. I usually hate shows with episodes that drag and having to wait for big things to happen but this show makes it all worth it. Sometimes i just wish i can be as mysterious and half as cold as Lee Ji-An and stop opening up to people. This show brings me comfort, excitement, laughter, hatred, unsatisfaction, annoyance, all in a way that so many other k-dramas are not able to deliver. Idk how the creators can make the switch in the emotional distance between the characters (in r/s) look so natural. They even made the serious looking antagonist executive officer Mr Yoon who’s supposed to be one of the bad guys, a partly comical character, something very rare. Oddly, i love the fact tht nothing rly good happens in her life previously bc it’s realistic, unlike many other kdramas whereby everyone automatically loves or likes the lead guy/girl even when he/she lacks personality. Also the little experiences that these characters go through and the reactions they display, unlike many annoying k-dramas, is nothing close to what you would call petty or trivial. The genuinity in this show that the characters portray (esp from UI) is off the chart.
Finished it yesterday. One of the greatest dramas I’ve seen in my life. Everything was perfect. Sang Hoon made me laugh so much. ♥️

Just finished watching this show. Boy it was so great. Cried and laughed a lot. Many episodes pierced my soul. The casts were really great especially the 3 bros. I also felt this way after watching My daughter Seo Young.

Watched the first episode but cuz I’m not used to seeing Iu’s face so dark and sad and hopeless and expressionless, it was so damn difficult to watch through just the first episode. My heart was like pumping and I couldn’t breathe haha. I heard this is a good show so I guess I have to endure it and watch the whole thing...
I recommend you to endure it, I watched it and kinda boring so I skipped some scenes. But after finished the last episode, I found myself rewatch it without skipping anything, rewind some non dialog scenes, and use earphone to get the better feeling of Ji An character,,

Am i the only one who doesn’t watch this drama not because i think its not nice but rather too sad for me, being a IU fan, i cried the moment i was on episode 3 when it aired in 2018, until 2020 i still don’t have the guts to watch this since I’m scared of crying every single time

Because she is an Introvert its normal that her aura is cold with the people she is not familiar with. Our disadvantage is the first impression towards others.We have the same personality so when I'm around strangers a rarely talk unless you ask me question. But once they know me well they will never say that I'm shy and quiet. hahaha! I'm super talkative when I'm comfortable with the people around me and love to play prank on them. We can see IU as friendly since she is always around people she is comfortable with. if she is with strangers try to observe how silent she is. She will not know what to do and will just laugh without reason. I kinda understand why she said her personality is a bit cold and unfriendly. relate much! hahaha!

well 0 dislikes! =) rare! It's a great drama btw... not exactly lovey-dovey stuff, characters are quite interesting and it can become quite depressing at times. It deals with real human problems in modern society the best thing about it is that the show does not seem to rely on just the lead characters but on supporting characters also by flashing out their backstories specifically in case of Jung Hee. Great show! I wish it never ended but it seems like it's coming to an end very soon. I recommend!

No. After all those tough times, he was living alone (his wife and son were abroad) and seemed to have realized after all one's life is lonely and all is nothing.

It was not surprising that the wife of the main character in 'My Mister' had an affair, since her husband at the start of the drama was portrayed as a depressed team-manager with all the charisma of a wet-sponge. He drinks every evening with his useless brothers in a seedy bar, arriving home late, drunk and uncommunactive. He shows zero interest in his relationship and seems devoid of enthusiasm, or joy. He weirdly develops an unlikely so-called friendship with a young temporary female co-worker who is also deeply depressed, bullied and extremely manipulative and devious.
The drama highlights the hierarchical and bullying culture present in Korean corporate organisations and offers little respite from its bleak and dystopian view of life, love, and relationships. The several sub-plots involving the main character's brothers show them to be a couple of immature losers who drink themseles into a stupor most nights and who naturally fail in almost every endeavour.
The main character's response to his wife's infidelity reveals him to be lacking in courage, self-belief and dignity. At the conclusion. His wife clears off to the USA where their never seen son resides and the main character ends up meeting once again the young female employee with whom he's developed some kind of slow-burn friendship over the course of the drama's sixteen episodes.
Altogether, the drama was far too long and could have been shortened considerably if the characters had left out the tediously long pauses in their depressing conversations and the many irrelevant sub-plots.
Worth a watch though, especially if you're in the mood for yet another long-winded K Drama with no satisfactory conclusion.
