Has history verified the biblical accounts? This video looks at the evidence for Elijah, Elisha, Hazel, Jehu and king Ahab #bible #Elijah #Elisha #archaeology
There are so many contradictory statements throughout the Bible, it is amazing that this guy assumes that people are idiots and never read the Bible through and through !!!
Yes, mainly the New Testament has many issues, even translation blunders. The Old Testament has held up surprisingly well to archaeology. The Torah describes roughly 1000 years of history around Judea and the New Testament barely covers a century or so. I'm not saying it's perfectly accurate but I was surprised.
@ it is not translation blunders : whole chapters are missing, stories never line up properly between different bibles, numerical disagreements, even the genealogy of Jesus is different between different bibles, Judus death account varies between different bibles.. what did he do with the money is also different between different bibles.. I can go on and on and on… it is completely corrupted book! Sorry , but this is the truth
Yeah. This video is a mixed bag at best. At worst, it's intentionally cherry picking to make the bible sound more accurate than it is. At a literal reading, it's more false than true. - Being generous, it has some historical references that are somewhat true. But lots that doesn't seem to be. For example, where is the archaeological evidence of the exodus?
Yes, The Bible is truly accurate and is The Word of God spoken through the prophets of the Old Testament and the apostles of the New Testament!!! There are both internal and external evidences that the Bible is truly God’s Word. Internal Evidence that the Bible is God’s Word Internal evidences are those things within the Bible that testify of its divine origin. One internal evidence that the Bible is truly God’s Word is its unity. Even though it is really sixty-six individual books, written on three continents, in three different languages, over a period of approximately 1,500 years, by more than 40 authors who came from many walks of life, the Bible remains one unified book from beginning to end without contradiction. This unity is unique from all other books and is evidence of the divine origin of the words that God moved men to record. Another internal evidence that indicates the Bible is truly God’s Word is prophecy. The Bible contains hundreds of detailed prophecies relating to the future of various nations, certain cities, and all mankind. Other prophecies concern the coming of the Messiah, the Savior of all who would believe in Him. Unlike the prophecies found in other religious books or those by men such as Nostradamus, biblical prophecies are extremely detailed. There are over three hundred prophecies concerning Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. Not only was His lineage foretold and where He would be born, but also how He would die and that He would rise again. There simply is no logical way to explain the fulfilled prophecies in the Bible other than citing divine origin. There is no other religious book with the amount of detailed predictive prophecy the Bible contains. A third internal evidence of the divine origin of the Bible is its unique authority and power. While this evidence is more subjective than the first two, it is no less a powerful testimony that the Bible is God’s Word. The Bible’s authority is unlike that of any other book ever written. This power is seen in the way countless lives have been supernaturally transformed. Drug addicts have been cured by it, homosexuals set free by it, derelicts and deadbeats transformed by it, hardened criminals reformed by it, sinners rebuked by it, and hate turned to love by it. The Bible does possess a dynamic and transforming power that is only possible because it is truly God’s Word. External Evidence that the Bible is God’s Word There are also external evidences that indicate the Bible is truly the Word of God. One is the historicity of the Bible. Because the Bible details historical events, its accuracy is subject to verification like any other historical document. Through archaeological evidence and extrabiblical writings, the historical accounts of the Bible have proved time and again to be accurate and true. In fact, all the archaeological and manuscript evidence supporting the Bible makes it the best-documented book from the ancient world. That the Bible accurately records historically verifiable events helps substantiate its claim to be the very Word of God and supports trust concerning other matters the Bible addresses. Another external evidence that the Bible is truly God’s Word is the integrity of its human authors. In studying the lives of the authors of Scripture, we find them to be honest and sincere. The fact that they were willing to die often excruciating deaths for what they believed testifies that these men truly believed God had spoken to them. The men who wrote the New Testament and many hundreds of other believers (1 Corinthians 15:6) knew the truth of their message because they had spent time with Jesus Christ after He had risen from the dead. Seeing the risen Christ had a tremendous impact on them. They went from hiding in fear to being willing to die for the message God had revealed to them. Their lives and deaths testify to the fact that the Bible truly is God’s Word. Another external evidence that the Bible is truly God’s Word is the indestructibility of the Bible. The Bible has suffered more vicious attacks and attempts to destroy it than any other book in history. From early Roman Emperors like Diocletian, through communist dictators and on to modern-day atheists, the Bible has withstood a constant onslaught from detractors. Yet it endures and is still today the most widely published book in the world. Throughout history, skeptics have regarded the Bible as mythological, but archaeology has confirmed it as historical. Opponents have attacked its teaching as primitive and outdated, but its moral and legal concepts have had a positive influence on societies throughout the world. It continues to be attacked by pseudo-science, psychology, and political movements, yet it remains just as true and relevant today as it was when it was first written. This should not surprise us. After all, Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away” (Mark 13:31). The Bible, unique among books, has transformed countless lives and swayed whole cultures. After looking at the evidence, one can say without a doubt that God has spoken and that, yes, the Bible is truly God’s Word.
@@DanHutchings-xx7ug So you telling us that Noah built a ship that could contain more than 2x 1.2 million animals and their respective food, he also created ice to contain the polar bears, penguins and that biomass could be kept afloat via a wooden ship? 2.4 million animals... @@MaklaryZoltan-lu9ji It does not say all species but two of each kind. For example two bears, one male and one female. Same holds true for man, were they black, brown, yellow, red or white. We to evolved over time based on climate and food sources as well. Yes the Bible has been proven accurate hundreds of times through archaeological discoveries, also the scientific facts that were written down thousands of years ago no man could have known Hebrews 11:3)(job 26:7( Leviticus 17:11 without the blood the flesh has no life) Leviticus 15:13 use RUNNING water to clean yourself of germs), those are just some of the scientific facts in the Bible.
Without blood flesh has no life. I expect this was well known without the bible . People in war or accident were bleeding out and dying. Washing hands in running water was also easily observed and by the way Jesus said that concerning hand washing that what goes into the mouth can't hurt you, only what comes out of the mouth. Therefore hand washing before eating was not needed. Wrong.
"Yes the Bible has been proven accurate hundreds of times through archaeological discoveries..." On the contrary, there are plenty of evidence that the Biblical claims are not true, moreover simple lies. Noahs ark, world wide flood, resurrection, miracles has never been proven but even debunked. Anyone who claims that the Bible is true are simply lying.
@@MaklaryZoltan-lu9ji I love when people like you tell me to read my Bible "actually." I'd wager I've read and studied the Bible exponentially more then you have. Now about your claim. I don't care if it has some inaccuracies. I care if it trustworthy. We wouldn't say that Josephus isn't a historical account because he to had some inaccuracies. We wouldn't say that the our school textbook is untrustworthy because some inaccuracies are found. The question is the nature of those inaccuracies. The question of this video is if the Bible is historically accurate. Does it record actual history. It does.
@@blusheep2 So you telling me you have read the Bible, you also telling me that you somehow managed to read it better than me. Uhu. You must've watched while I was in Girton College and done the Bible studies! Also, you don't mind the "Some inaccuracies"? You mean the hundreds of contradictions and inconsistencies? Those are not inaccuracies, and school textbooks aren't claiming things that you can't fact-check easily. A book can be flawed, that doesn't refute what the book talking about. While if a book talk about things that aren't proven, or moreso, debunked, that book is not "Trustworthy". Wishful thinking and confirmation bias is the wage of the illiterates. ;)
Of course the Bible is historically accurate - despite the fact nobody else recorded the sun standing still for Joshua, nobody else recorded Jericho's walls coming down, no one recorded Moses parting the Red Sea, nobody has heard of the three kings that visited Jesus, no one recorded Lazarus coming back from the dead and no Romans or Greeks saw Zombies (dead saints) walking around Jerusalem after Jesus' death and recorded the event
The Joshua story makes no sense. The sun always stands still, it is the earth that revolves around the sun. Whoever wrote that obviously didn’t know we are heliocentric. If the earth stood still everyone on the planet would have been sent flying to their death because the earth rotates on its axis at a high rate of speed
The more time goes by, the more proof's we have that actual life is accurate to The Bible. God's Word does not follow life on Earth; life on Earth follows The Bible.
On the contrary. Since we perfected the scientific method, since 200 years more and more Biblical claims turned out to be totally untrue. Life on Earth totally different as the Bible claims. Have you ever read the Bible?
Archeology has proven the Bible true hundreds of times, also many scientific facts in the Bible,, Hebrews 11:3 everything we see is made of things we cannot see,, job 26:7 the Earth is hanging in space,,,Lev. 15:13 wash in running water to clean self of germs,, Lev. 17:11 without blood the body will die,,, just a few scientific truths in the Bible.

How did it all begin, what happens when you finally die?
Israel Finkelstein and Andy Dever, two world renowned historians & archaeologists in the field of Near East studies, they amongst others did decades of field work in the Near East and none of the biblical chronologies or main claims holds up. Noah's flood, the exodus, desert wandering, sermon on mount, all these are found to be of a mythical nature. Even Moses - a myth related to narratives of other rulers who went before him. But we didn't need any of that anyway. We can simply dismiss both the OT and the NT as their claims do not comport to the reality we experience. Thus, they are dismissed
