I'm a Giant fan boy at heart and have been dreaming about the new TCR for many months, seeing Davids reviews on this bike and his custom build has finally lead me to purchase a TCR advance pro 0. With dwindling stock left in the UK, I had to jump at the chance. The metallic blue in the flesh looks amazing, even though it's an expensive bike the irony is it's actually good value compared to competitors. Love your videos David, true and unbiased as always.

I have the metallic blue Adv Pro 0 too. It looks way better in person than in pictures. I had people complimenting about my bike when I ride pass them. The look of the bike really grew on me. It might sound odd in this age of integrated cockpit but I particularly like the look of the TCR's stem and bar. The all-black matte finish, with no excessive branding, makes the whole cockpit look solid and all-business.

My only hesitation is the it’s a PF86 and with a 30mm axle the bottom bracket bearing diameter gets significantly reduced affecting performance and lifespan. With a PF86, it’s always better to stick to a 24mm axle. That’s really what the bb was designed for. Otherwise it’s a great bike.

I am glad that you talk about the low gearing, lower than 1:1. Subcompact cranksets should be standard on all endurance bikes, in my opinion. The average cyclist doesn't benefit from the really fast gears i.e. 50-11. I wish ultegra came with a 46/30 crankset

Your bike is an absolute beaut, Dave. The frame is top of my list for my first bike build. One thing I'd love to hear your opinions about is whether you would change your current set up to a 1 X drivetrain or stick to what you have, and why. 1x offers simplicity and I find that attractive. What do you think? I ask because shortly I'll be investing in a very similar set up and I'm still undecided about whether I should go 1x. New to cycling, and just picked up a used TCR Aluxx SL1 Disc 2021 back in Oct.
Of course the Aluxx version is nowhere comparable to the CF counterparts, but for the money at that time i was searching, it was a 'bargain' (i also picked it as 2021 model tire clearance seems able to fit 30mm or even 32mm).
I guess the 1st owner selling it coz of the proprietary Conduct hydraulic system looks cluttery and uncool.
*in SEA market, Giant still ships Aluxx models.
I have clocked 1300+km since. It may not look as cool as aero bikes, but seeing lots of reviewer riding TCRs, at least geometry wise i guess i picked the right bike for all rounder

My first power meter so I can't compare to others, but it was cheap (220 euros on sale in a German webshop Bikester) and seemed to record the power output without glitches (Wahoo Bolt and Strava my tools of recording).

I jus wanna know. What's yer take on riding a single speed bicycle daily. Fer instance take a look at my swamp duck bicycle. It is weird an rusty but it pulls like a mule up hills an around town pulling a junk trailer built mostly out of refrigerator pieces.

You forgot to mention the most important part. The size and weight.

Nice bike, but still to heavy for my taste. Reason is that I ride a rim brake bike at the moment which, while not very light, comes in at 7.55 kg incl. pedals and bottle cages. My next bike will surely have disc brakes, but I'll decline every bike which has an 8 (in kg, frame size 58 cm, incl. pedals) on the scale. Everything above 7.9 kg is not acceptable for me. In the end it's a performance bike.

Weight really doesn’t matter!! Aero, comfort, stiffness, compliance and geometry and tyre clearance are far more important unless you’re the 0.05% of cyclists who do it as a living!

@@alexflorance1111 Hey Alex, I tend to disagree for two reasons: 1st I'm not a pro, but I do racing. 2nd, I live in a mid-range mountain area where weight indeed does matter. But there's another reason: I don't want a new bike to deteriorate too much concerning weight, compared to my actual bike. When I put all that into consideration I've to set a weight limit, and this has to be sub 8kg.

Electronics and carbon wheels.. everything I would never want on a bike. The best bike is always the one i am riding at that moment. The industry is pushing us towards expensive stuff that we really do not need.
