Cute story, but here’s something that I’ve noticed about the stories involving a “badger”. I think that, when translating the stories from Japan, they used “badger” instead of “raccoon” (in truth, the animal is a tanuki, a shape-shifting raccoon-like creature). I guess that certain words got lost in translation.

A raccoon dog to be precise. But yeah.

They have a brown, small subspecies of badger but i think in this story they mean a raccoon or raccoon-dog. Interestingly all these three animals are called „Tanuki“ in Japan.🦝
