I think what is more impressive than the world record is the fact that the company kept the servers up and running that long, even after most people stopped playing... ;)
Seeing the new record, it looks like it got the *exact* same trajectory as Victor's run, which is just beautiful to watch. To think, because of how close the run was, if Victor did the first part even a little bit faster, he might still hold the record, and this video would never have been made.
Nah it wasn’t the same trajectory. The new record dude hit 2 poles, Viktor didn’t and he flew through the air much faster. If he had tried in the beginning he 100% would still have the record, I mean look at Wirtual’s record on the remake. It’s almost a second faster than the new WR. Because he tried in the beginning, and got as clean of a bounce off the poles as possible and kept a lot of speed.
I would have never thought that a game that I played in my childhood would have such a history of tight competition, setting records and years of trying to beat them. Quite suriprised the video got recommended to me, but definitely it is an interesting discovery.

Kind of fully story about a year and half ago I was scrolling through RUclips (watching a lot of Minecraft at the time) and I saw this video. I thought "what the heck is Trachkania" I watched it and became fascinated I had never seen this game before and it looked to simple I thought it was some crappy free to play game. Later that week another video poped up and another I slowly learned the workings of the game and the community behind it. Now I love Trackmania and I admire all of the effort people put in to become the best at "Sole simple free to play racing game". This video poped up in my recommended again today and I thought I should say something. Thank you wirtual to showing me Trackmania and the community behind it. I dont have a windows computer to (just a Chromebook) play it but when I get one I'm hopefully gonna be able to play rackmania 2020 and nations forever.
Man its crazy for me to think that this game even still gets played and seeing only 2 of these videos makes me want to boot it up again all these years later, I remember having United and ESWC and actually being kind of upset when forever came out after I spent so long building custom tracks I poured a lot of time into only for the new game to be basically the same as the old one and having only the formula 1 cars (I was also 14 when the old games came out, I didn't even know what speedrunning was at the time!) and just hearing of these incredible runs and the dedication of the community brings a tear to my eyes

That background music at the start thoooooooo 🔥🔥 Chrono Trigger, ONE of the greatest games out there.
I think its just so funny that viktor on his first try, accidentaly, got a 1 in a million jump
Probably 1 in 100 million because took 12 years to get it again

how did that game come out in 2006 it looks like a game from 2015-2020
I know it has impressive graphics, and the one 2012 nations forever still looks absolutely amazing today when settings are on ultra. It's also compatible with steering wheels and controllers and has one of the best track editors I've ever seen in a game.
simplicity is key. look at the first mirror's edge, it still looks insane. I think there's even a video about why it does
@@mrinfinity333 also helps that both games have a more satisfying to look at color palette than lots of games from 6-7th gen, games that tried to look dark and realistic with dark colors and as a result end up looking way uglier as time goes by
@@mrinfinity333 One game that also goes by that is Mass Effect 1, the game looks really good even 13 years later (if we discount those "planets")
The meaning of this comment grades the fact how shit of games the big companies try to sell NOWADAYS, not how good some games were back then.
Viktor watching this: _"They finally did it... Finally the student best his master"_
Going from 35.8k subscribers to 306k in 5 months is a hell of an achievement!

Ive literally never played this game or really know anything about it, but man is this interesting, you have me invested!
Same!
I already watched dozen of Trackmania videos on this channel, yet i did not even hear about this game before
This is a perfect example of things feels easier when you do it on accident, but it feels incredibly difficult when you do it on purpose.
ah, the good old, elusive wuwei phenomenon

been binging your videos for the past like 12 hours. downloading trackmania on my other monitor now. your videos are great and have made me want to play this
The true question is: Did Viktor reach the stadium ceiling?
I guess we’ll never know
O.o Maybe he gave up
I'd like to believe he gave up after continuously hitting the shortcut and thinking its impossible to get on the roof
Yes, yes he is
I think what is more impressive than the world record is the fact that the company kept the servers up and running that long, even after most people stopped playing... ;)
@Golden Auto but TMNF servers are still online, so let's be happy about that
This channel is awesome, I don’t even play track mania or think it’s that interesting but the quality of the videos has me keeping coming back
Seeing the new record, it looks like it got the *exact* same trajectory as Victor's run, which is just beautiful to watch. To think, because of how close the run was, if Victor did the first part even a little bit faster, he might still hold the record, and this video would never have been made.
The record could still stand for more 2 years maybe

9:59 when he says "and then I got this run" and you hear that music in the background you know the video is about to end😂 But there's still 5 minutes left💀💀💀

As an old TM player, I gotta say your content is refreshing. You're prolly the best gaming youtuber & editer i've seen so far. Your content is clear, precise and very enjoyable. Also it is welcoming to people who are not even playing the game. Gratz bro, keep it up! Just subbed
I imagine when the camera moves back after he hits the finish his heart just dropped

Danm this video was so nice. The music, the clips and the narrative were on point. Keep it up dude, much love 🇧🇷
I'm happy about the Hungarian records
That video is one of the best of yours :) Congrats for the record
Plot twist : Victor still haven't get access to top of stadiums to these days.
"i tried to get to the roof of the stadium but all i got was this lousy world record"
The way Viktor beat Nearo's record reminds of the first time Keisuke meets Takumi in Initial D. The guy was just delivering tofu and he accidentally beat a pro driver. The same way this guy was just minding his own business and just so happens he beat a WR.
Good reference !!
I don't think Keisuke was a pro. But clearly something equivalent to Trackmania grinder...

This is a video of true passionate. Amazing vid. Im joining trackmania community now lol.

how much you wanna bet at least half of the people who tried it had at least 1 attempt where they said "okay I'm just gonna go onto the stadium"
