this is awesome, i sometimes can't figure out parts of songs and end up writing my own half-arsed tabs so this will be help me get close enough - Gianni you magnificent creature, super thanks for the video ma dude !
I just CTRL+V (paste), I deleted the bass clef, then CTRL+V notation into a TAB (it figures it out automatically). If I remember well CTRL+I brings up the instrument choice tab
Thank you for this video!! Is it possible to bring a part of a guitar solo from a song off RUclips and have this software transcribe the actual notes being played?
@8478als @house9850 you can use one of those AI sites that break down a full mix into individual stems and then try this method on the guitar stem (provided it is aligned to a click) like voice.ai
This is definitely a tricky thing for guitar players. I think I am getting closer to being able to transcribing my songs. Would help if I was more knowledgeable but alas I just pick up the guitar and play.

@@gianni.chiarello So they are! Thanks. Went searching for this because of a discussion about converting audio to tab in an online banjo community. I've imported midi of piano transcriptions and ABC Notation of fiddle tunes into TablEdit tablature editing software then painstakingly reworked the resulting tab into something that's actually playable. Your solution appears to get closer, but might require more tech know-how than a lot of us have.

I don't see why you cannot use the same process for drums, if they are isolated tracks (drums only), synced to a beat. use drums as instrument when importing into musescore, instead of guitar/tab
@vladyslavstadnyk2762 do i have a program for you ma dude : i just started using "moises" to remove the bass for some backing tracks - there's an option to export four tracks ( vocals, guitars, bass, drums ) and you can just pick one of the isolated tracks and take it from there
my other reply didn't show up - you can use "Moises" to separate tracks, the free version let's you separate 4 tracks : vocals, guitars, bass and drums
@@gianni.chiarello don't let that stop ya from making another video - also, i can see now your 'tweaking' because of ghost notes so if you found a good way to clean it up make sure you include on your video - at the moment i use moises, but it's only 5 songs per month for the free version and seem to do a good job, but nothing wrong with seeing more options - keep up the good work !
@johnlyon326 I am not sure if Cokos changed the format, I've bought the license twice now (it lasts two major updates), as i use it to generate income as a musician. I feel it's worth it to continue the development of the software as well. As far as I understand you can use it indefinitely after the trial period (with an annoying splash screen) if you don't make money from using it, a bit of a honor system so to speak...it might have changed since!
@@gianni.chiarello There is no free use after the trial period - it doesn't stop working, but the splash screen means what it says. That's been the position as long as I've been using it - at least 10 years. Reaper is comparatively inexpensive. I can't remember that the cost has changed in my time.
@johnlyon326 you might disagree on this but I think the strategy of letting people use the software after the end of the trial period without limitation is what has let Reaper flourish in what it is now, a big profitable platform that is as mainstream as Logic and Pro tools. If they wanted to stop people from using it, they could, but that's never been their philosophy...just my two cents, I do understand and appreciate your point of view though!
@@gianni.chiarello Ah Gianni, if only life were based on our opinions! Perhaps you need to refer yours to Cockos before publicising their software as free? There's nothing on the Purchase Reaper page to suggest it is. I think Reaper's development as a daw of choice is based on competitive pricing and better functionality than the competition, not on people using it for nothing - they obviously don't count.

Thanks for your video. Have things moved on at all since you made this, or is this still the way forward ?
Not seen anything different
Thanks for this terrific video. Can you tell me the keystrokes or menu items you used to change the score in the bass clef to the treble (at 5:16)?

does anyone something like this but for drums and free or low-cost/reasonably priced? I found some software but for like 200USD/month!

Ok, but what to do with real song where is a lot of instruments together?
Use an AI website to isolate the guitar stem. I'd say this is not a one size fit all approach. It's more to do with transcribing lines
