Hi Iryna, Thanks for the vote of confidence. I do stop and do a retake when interrupted by planes. However, some times I am so absorbed with the trees and the work I am doing that I don't realise the planes are flying until I go into editing. And a big thank you for the your vote to keep the little jokes going. The response has been unanimously positive. So they are here to stay, they are very British humour, my videos are watched all over the world sometimes I wonder if people else where understand as some of them are a play on words in English. Cheers. Iqbal
Thank you for sharing. I watched you have many tools for trimming Bonsai tree. I feel you have enthusiasm spirit. Thank you very much. I have to study.
Thank you for your visit and watching this video. I have many bonsai tools, in addition to them, April last year I was in Japan and bought some more tools from the maker who had his own forge. Your support and comments are encouraging and very much appreciated. Happy studying. Regards Iqbal
Thanks you Margaret, no I had to stop due to my son's death and then my sister died. Hope to start soon and will post the new videos regularly once I am up and running again.
Tree is looking great after pruning and cleaning. Thanks for a very informative video. I love all your videos with or without funny after thoughts. I definitely enjoy them. I want to share some thing with you Iqbal. Few days back I went to governor house. A flower show was organised there. There were bonsai trees too. After looking at them I thought, why did not I exhibit my plants? This happens each spring..I always feel my plants are not so good. Next time I am definitely going to display some of them. But yes. The bonsai collection of Governor house garden was very beautiful. I am sure you will guide me and give me some tips so that I can make my not so good plants presentable. Luv Anita.
Great to hear from you. Thanks for taking the time to comment as well. For the flower show, when I first started, I was very apprehensive about showing my trees and a friend encouraged me to display on basis that when the public saw my friends' trees they would admire it. When they saw mine, they would think I could do that and be encouraged to take up bonsai. So next year go for it. Start working on your trees now and select two to show. Good luck, luv and hugs Iqbal
Thanks for watching and your support. Did you you see the clip at the end, after the credits. I have been doing these in the last few uploads. Let me know what you think.
Ich weiß nicht, das genaue Alter, aber Ihre Vermutung um die 15 plus Jahre wäre in der Nähe der Marke. Ich kaufte es von einem Gartencenter und sie haben nicht das Alter angeben.
You see me pruning the new growth, these are the cutting you ought to propagate. Remove all needles except at the end/apex and propagate these. Best time is when its warm. I tend to place the pot with the planted cuttings into a plastic bag after having watered the soil and then spray the inside of the plastic bag and tie it up and place in full sun. The humidity inside the bag helps speed up the process. Cheers.
Hi Gary, thanks for dropping by. The tree is about 15 years old. It takes for ever to thicken the trunk. For azaleas I use chicken pallets, sea weed, and also Chempak 10:10:10 balanced feed. Chempak is in crystal form and has to be dissolved in water. I you cannot get this strength, buy the higher strength available and dilute it to get 10:10:10. These are acid loving plants and once a month add a tee spoon of vinegar to a litre of water and used it to water the Azaleas. You don't have to use all three, any one will do, or you could alternate, except for th chicken pallets, these are very good vale, do a very good job. The down side is they get a mush and smell a bit.
Hello Bonsai community! I am fairly new to the art of bonsai. I would really like to buy a young (2-3 years old) Larix to make it a bonsai but I have one question! Is it possible to make it an indoor bonsai? I am not concered about the light but more so about messing with the natural change of seasons (and temperature). Would it harm the Larix?
Hello Henry, Larch is an out door tree and if you bring it indoors, it will die. If you want an indoor tree, start with Ficus, Jade or Chinese Elm to name a few indoor trees. I hope this helps. Cheers Iqbal
You should trunk chop this neglected tree, hard. Create a new leader much farther down. Larches are apically dominant, and you've got some serious taper issues going on. Sorry for sounding critical...I'm fanatical when it comes to larches :)
Hi Morgan, Thanks for the info on larches. This particular tree is being grown to replace an exiting tree in a larch group planting, so trunk chop is not an option. Keep watching and commenting, and if you like a video, give it a thumbs up and if not then not so much of a thumbs up. Regards Iqbal
Hi Jay, Sometimes we listen to experts and follow their advice and it turns out to be wrong. That's what happened here. In latest videos, The call to action has been dropped from the front end and is at the end of the video. RUclips is constantly changing, and they got rid of the annotations which I used to remind people to subscribe and it appeared and looked very much like a comment except that it was linked to the Sub button. So that gone the experts recommended asking, which I did and it hasn't worked, and ended up irritating subscribers and regular viewers. I had also removed the title and the credits, which the viewers may not be too interested in. Thank you for your feedback and it helps in evolving the channel and the videos that you guys want to watch. What do you think of the after thought, this is the humour at the end of the video, I have had feedback, but now from you and would appreciate your thoughts. Its only in the recent videos, but not the channel trailer. Best wishes Iqbal

Hi, I like your work on the larch it is a beautiful tree, I have three Japanese larch’s how would you take cuttings,

How well do larch graft as I need to replace 10 branches on a tall larch bonsai that I have rescued
I have never tried this before.. Sounds like a lot of work, good luck with your project.
