That's because that's the original english song and in japanese pop culture it very common to have theme songs that dont relate to theme of movie or tv series just like ending of original resident evil Japanese version had a j pop song that capcom promised to promote and song had nothing to do with resident evil but really fit well

To my knowledge, Sailor Moon's first English dub by Dic was one of the few anime dubs that still utilized the original theme song for its English opening. While the instrumentation is different, the music is still Moonlight Densetsu, but with English lyrics that aren't the original song's lyrics. Harmony Gold did the same thing when they dubbed Dragon Ball, making their own lyrics set to the Japanese theme Makafushigi Adventure. 4kids even tried to do the same with "We Are" for One Piece, but ultimately settled on their own theme song instead.

開催２日前にこの曲が夢の中で流れてセーラームーン繋がりで勝ち馬スターズオンアース(馬名意味　地球上の星)
の馬券を買った所、見事的中🎯しました！
ちなみにこの曲の歌詞の一節の
[同じ地球(国)に生まれたの]がキーワードになり９(エリカヴィータ)、２(スタニングローズ)、１８(スターズオンアース)。そしてセーラーマーキュリー(水星)の絡みで1番ウォーターナビレラを流しました。
結果、自分にミラクルロマンスが起こりました🌠懐が明るくなりましたねー😁
セーラー戦士達が最大のサインでした🎵結果は確認頂けたらわかりますがまさか夢でセーラームーン達に救われたとは思いませんでした🎵
