    I'm a mechanical engineer with 20+ years experience designing tooling and fixtures, and I dabble in machining. Watching your video with my 7 year old son is a great way to show him some of the cool stuff I design, and to show how things actually get made. Very Cool!     When you watch a true craftsman at work it’s amazing. Doesn’t matter if they are a shoe repairer a chef or a metal turner. This is as good as watching Da Vinci paint the Mona Lisa or Stradivarius make violins.

    Probably the most satisfying video I have seen in a very long time. I second the person who thanked you for not putting music to this. Let the sounds of your work stand on their own.
    This is a great concept but I understand not wanting to put a lot of them together to sell. Metal work can be time consuming for small lot projects. The resulting items can be expensive because of the hours invested.
    Overall, this is a great design and very cool item!

Just this video alone could be your C.V. I have a friend who works in Aerospace Engineering, they would hire you straight away if they saw this.     No silly music, no inane commentary, just wonderful craftsmanship at work. I don’t know how I came across this channel but I was instantly hooked and subscribed so will slowly watch the other videos. I do agree with other comments as would love to see the Lock Picking Lawyer get his hands on this lock! You really should sell them as people will pay a good price for them knowing how much time and effort goes into making them as they would be a real talking point when showing friends...well done and look forward to seeing more content 👍

    I, like so many others, went to college and got a degree in business. Then went to law school. Yet I envy this guy! If I were a teenager again and could do it all over, I’d learn a trade like this dude and be a craftsman. The skills this man has are wonderful. Society needs more craftsmen and less lawyers!

      Sooo, true. I tell kids AND their parents teach em how to Weld, Saw, Machine, ANYTHING!!
      even if it's 2-3 years, those skills will ALWAYS come in handy, save money and chicks-dig, having the ONLY guy in the room that can fix or fabricate stuff.

    You are truly an amazing machinist!! After reading many comments. I see that many of your, I'm sure, younger viewer, are so spoiled that they think they can "buy" anything thing they want and that that will make them happy. You are trying to give them that happiness, by trying to teach them how to create, and you are giving them this for FREE! They are not blind but will not see.

    This guy is really good! How imaginative and talented he is. He could make anything he wants. I find this video very good and very entertaining to watch. I do know one thing. He has some serious tools that had to cost him a ton of money!

      Excellent work! He was using Sherline miniature machine tools, which are light and small, and his mill and lathe cost perhaps $1,200? Tooling, cutters, are pricey though. Point being, ANYONE can learn to do this, with some focus and drive, and it is very satisfying. I taught myself manual machining years ago, and it has given me much pleasure over decades.

      The only purpose of the bolts was to reduce the amount of milling needed to begin with. This would usually have started with some steel rod. Amazing job without a doubt but the whole 'bolt' thing was just clickbait to make it seem more 'amazing' because it's made from something else instead of just from raw materials.

    Toolmaker by trade, this man is very skilful, that is some craftsmanship especially on little hobby machines, on 100k machines I use and cadcam this is easy,. Quality engineering well done. 👍

    A superb upgrade would be to fashion a detent insert on each ring so it can have a crisp click on each position. Then I believe it's perfect. Phenomenal work my man.

    You did a fine job. The end product is elegant looking. I began my career in tool and die and then moved on to tool design, then factory automation. I have a lathe and milling machine at home for my own small projects.
