- Breakfast at Societa Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette - A.D. 1874 , I was out and about in Valletta , With a couple of plans of food videos, But was shock at the price of fish and chips so settled for a full english breakfast in a awesome historic place

That was a very interesting video showing us inside a band club. The full English breakfast looked really nice. Valletta the Maltese capital is such a beautiful city.

Omg Steve. I stumbled on this video today. Had me tearing up with joy. Used to visit as a little girl around 28 years ago with my nanna and nannu. Hasn't changed one bit. Sooo glad you posted this as it rekindled so many many memories. I used to go there weekly 😃😃😃

I'm in tears with memories from La Vallette Club. I grew up going there a lot with my father and we used to go upstairs too. It hasn't changed at all. Such a beautiful building. My mother's uncle practically lived there. He was a member . He died in his nineties.....

I must have walked past this place so many times and never noticed it was there. On the to-do list when we are allowed to visit again from Australia. Despite my many visits, you have shown me so many new things. Thank you Steve. I'm so glad to have stumbled across your channel.
Ah memories, have eaten in there many times befor it was redecorated, was always reasonable prices, good for mid day meal/snack, not been in there for a while, will try again next time.

Love that place , the architecture is so beautiful, been there many time for lunch , while you are in Valletta maybe you can drop in to the Blackfriars pub on the corner of Merchant st and St Nicholas st and say hello to my Sister in law there 🇦🇺🇲🇹

Funny, that was our seccond location on our Malta holidays. One time St. Julians was enough. Hotel San Bernard, directly at the party stairs. In Xemxija we´ve been two times at the Porto Azzurro and after that only Bugibba Qwara, the Bus Terminal there is great to start into all directions to explore the island.
Does look good - wish all the band clubs did this!

Hey Steve , never been in there , looked a lovely building.. that was a cheap deal ... I think one of the best things about a full english is when someone else makes it ..😋💜
And with black pudding and mushrooms, you don't see black pudding much in Malta these days especially in summer, a number of local butcher's used to make their own including on in Hamrun and our local butcher's in Siggiewi, Maltese black pudding is very good as is traditional Maltese bacon, and the sausages are legendary.

I grew up on Swedish sausages so I remember not fancying the maltese ones so much allthough I suppose my tastebuds have matured during the years. I could go for a timpana and a kinnie right now 😋
maltese sausage are so different from butcher to butcher...Its best to shop around until you find the recipe you like ...Not all the same, ....Swedish sausages sounds interesting

Great video made me super hungry. When you visit Bugibba ,George’s on the seafront do a smashing breakfast.
Seaview hotel restaurant used to do a great breakfast along with the Plum Tree Qawra.
What a beautiful building, that breakfast looked good& you soon polished it off in fact it looked like you licked the plate, lol. Cheaper than fish& chips, Jessica looked happy with her tip!

"English Brekky 🏴 " any time of day 😋! . I've checked re "€16.50 Beer Battered Fish & Chips" at 'that place' and they advertise it's 'Cod or Haddock'. However, when staff were asked by patrons, they couldn't tell them what the fish being served was 🤔..For that price I would expect "Lampuki, chips & nice freshly made salad" 🥗 😋.

my cousins son when the maltese are born then to to talk the mams and dads talk in maltese then the start talking in english, and when they go to school english only and yes they speak better english then the english

I think those are the new Dewfresh Cumberland sausages. I tried them and they taste almost the same as the normal pork sausages. Bit of a let down.
What ever you buy frozen is never the same as fresh Cumberland sausage...but you suprise me i always thought there were herbs in Cumberland sausage???
@@EnglishmaninMalta they did put some herbs in. You can see them when the sausages are raw, but there's not enough to effect the taste.
I used to live in Melita Street in Valletta. Has the La Valette sorted out the smell in the Gents Urinal yet?

Only thing missing is fried bread! Hope the bacon isn't smoked, too.
It was lovely bacon funny enough dont see much fried bread or pigs pudding in Malta
looks a beautiful building, why was it empty? i thought maybe the food is expensive but not as your breakfast was quite reasonable.
No Kristina, it's never been expensive in there, you get pretty decent food and drinks at very reasonable prices, as you can tell they're a decent bunch in there, they're always friendly, welcoming, and helpful, you asked why it was empty, well usually in the afternoons a lot of the older members are in there playing snooker and cards, with a few diners dotted around at the tables, maybe this was just a one off, ot it could be to do with the current situation, or maybe even the heat at the moment, but rest assured it's always been a good place to visit.🙂
That breakfast looked yummy but def not Cumberland sausages. It's a grand building anyway to dine in. Xx

Actually: can you get real original Fish & Chips (not french-fries) in MT ? I know you can get fresh made Scotch-eggs (LoL) in Burmarrad ;-)

@@EnglishmaninMalta I did not know Malta had that kind of bread, yet Malta does have a much larger selection of bread than they used to and I ignore most of the bread that I see in Malta that is not the Maltese kind.
Sausages needed doing a bit more but that's just me , I've eaten worse breakfasts than that in England
