    Just watched this and i can honestly say its one of the best how to clips ive ever seen. We will never get shown how to do it better than by those who have done it 1000s of times before. I have so much appreciation for this simply brilliant video. I dont work in a mine but i will definately try this one here in OZ.

    Just as my gran and mum made them. Veg sliced, not diced and meat placed so the juices dribble through to add extra flavour to the veg. I’m feeling home sick now! From Kerry☘️

    Another Granny Nancy here, in Australia. I come from Devon [Tiverton] and I love hearing the West Country voice. So lovely to see someone doing this the way my Granny Nancy taught me, when I was a child....brought this knowledge out here! Love it, thank you. xx

    Provenance and ‘legal description’ of what is required in order for a ‘ Cornish Pasty’ to be classed as such are just a list of what is ‘allowed’ to qualify…
    This pasty may not meet that list that most likely was set by a committee but it’s not being made to be sold; it was made to enjoy.
    It was made with care and love.
    The fact is this wonderful lady made a substantial meal that a lot of people would be happy to eat.
    Too many stuffed shirts out there that couldn’t come close to making one of these.

    You make the dough 2 - 3 days before? Then it will not taste fresh...I guess. I just make it right before. Is that why my pasties break easily? They are not so steady as when I was in Bude, England. Wow! those are huge! I guess you eat only one of those?

    Making something like this on You Tube is always bound to cause controversy - you shouldn’t do this or that, you don’t put that in or you should put this in etc.... is it Cornish or is it Devon.? What the hell. Just call the damn thing a ‘pasty’ and put what YOU like in it, your making it, you’ll probably be eating it. Also PLEASE to all pasty posters, when it’s cooked, cut the damn thing in half so we can see it !! One thing has always puzzled me about pasties, how does the meat manage to cook in 50 mins? Is it because it’s cut so thin? Whatever long live the pasty!! Doubt you would ever see an Irish person eating a pasty as my Irish wife tells me the Irish “don’t eat meat that has pastry on it”. Strange people 🤣

    • @neilturner2924

    • @dryflyman7121
      @dryflyman7121 3 года назад +2

      @@neilturner2924 yes Neil, they have strange ways ! Here are a few ‘Irishisms’ from my dear wife. She doesn’t like spaghetti because it’s like worms. Don’t cook with Rosemary as it tastes like Dettol . You only eat an egg when it’s cooked like the sole of your shoe - no runny yokes for the Irish!! Don’t eat English potatoes as they are a meal and a drink in one.
      However, when it comes to sweet things, like cake biscuits or desserts, mind out or you will be trampled in the rush!!
      Finally, Irish people can’t drink a cup of tea without a biscuit. In truth they are not bothered about the tea, it’s just a good excuse to eat another damn biscuit !!🤣🤣

      No parsley in Cornish pasties in shops, but many Cornish grannies like to put it in their steak pasties and are you gonna tell her she's wrong? She'll then tell you she learned off her granny who often put parsley in her steak pasties.
