I feel like with so many brands coming out so strong with a clear vision and message has left some of the other girls scratching their heads going “What do we do?”

I think it’s a sign of the way we consume things now. Quality isn’t enough anymore 🤷🏽♂️ I think now more than ever people want to know what’s the message the brand is trying to send? What’s your identity? Who are you for?

The Kat Von D lock it foundation was just popular in my opinion. Back then we were Beating our Face! So I was using too much anyway. And there was no definition to my face when I used the Lock it foundation. If I remember correctly, contouring became popular around the same time as this foundation was popular because if you didn’t add back definition to your face it looked like a floating balloon sitting on your neck!
Yes, as time has gone on I have slowly started to prefer medium-sheer coverage and tinted moisturiser over full coverage. I got my friend lock it, because I used it and she wanted to get into makeup. She said she didn't like it on her cos she looked washed out in photos etc, because she didn't use blush or contour and was literally painting her face matte white and then taking photos with flash

Now that I have control over my oily skin I will like to try foundation and concealers again but I don’t where to start and I also want to avoid to much buying and returning . I am currently using Maybelline perfector 4 in 1, it is matte, I used the darkest shade 05 deep . I really like it and I have a back up in case it gets discounted. Double wear got a special place in my heart probably because it was my first "high end" foundation. Lock it was a fav of mine back in the day because of how oily I am, but I won't wear it today (better skin care routines have saved me lol)
I love the Maybelline fit me foundation it gives me the coverage I need but still has a natural look same with the Rimmel London stay matte (just a little more coverage) if I want a little less coverage I’ll use my Black Opal stick foundation. 💕💕💕

Idk if I’ve become boring or brands just don’t bring the excitement anymore. Quarantine definitely drastically changed my beautiful routine though from doing the most to only focusing on skincare and eyebrows😂
I actually love the old amazonian clay foundation. I stocked up when they changed the formula. They don't have the best range overall, but it gave me my best shade match ever and the formula looks amazing on my skin.

But I’m going through my makeup and just today I found 2 Mac Pro long wear concealers that were unopened. I used one today and I like it. Maybelline Fit Me and Clinique are middle of the road. I never tried the True Match, Tarte Amazonian Clay, Armani, or the NARS foundations. I think the MAC, Revlon ColorStay, and L'Oreal Infallible were overhyped. Hourglass Vanish Stick is also middle of the road for me but I'm a stick foundation fiend in the winter.

Idk what it is, but every product the Armani line comes out with... My skin REPELS. I have normal/combo skin, and Luminous Silk felt like a layer of oil on my face. Also back in the day, their shade range was garbage for medium tones, which is fair enough since usually we're the only ones that can find out shades. But everything in their medium tone range ran orange or ashy.

The Estée Lauder double wear foundation is not that good for dry skin. I had to add a drop of oil every time to use it up. Then it looked very nice and lasted all day even working outside.
