- Zak Ové, a British-Trinidadian artist joins AGO Curator, Arts of Global Africa and the Diaspora, Julie Crooks in conversation about his work and how it connects with Carnival, Trinidad, and the African Diaspora. Ové’s Moko Jumbie was commissioned for the AGO in 2021; the 18-foot-sculpture can be found in the Galeria Italia. The latest exhibition, Life Between Islands, is dedicated to Ové’s father, Horace Ové (1939-2023): a Trinidad-born artist who remains a key figure in British film, TV and photography.
