Update 1.20 comes with some tank rebalancing, buffs & nerfs. This time let me show you want they did to the Centurion Action X. DPM is now one of the highest, with actually good gun handling... This this RIPS!

When you boost DPM to the MAX with best equipment, you will get 4019 with APCR/HEAT and 4,946 with HESH... Quite nuts, because with this gun handling, you might actually be able to put that into action! :)
What do you think about it? Still needs a turret buff?
I would say to remove the buffs from test server and make the turret good and not like a tier 8 medium
I always liked cent but at the same time it needed a buff, turret armor would be ideal, but with this buffs it would be just to much. Right now Cent will be just good tank like udes, stb etc
Take some of DPM and give it more turret armor, so it will have 3800 maxed DPM and good turret

7/1 is still one of my favs. Actually having different amo types that are viable make the game much more interesting.
and now theyre removing the need for stabs. my fave tank is about to get nuts lol

@@SovietPanda91 when I marked it I ran vents, rammers and stabs. After that I switched to turbo, vents and rammer.

Yup, just like the AMX. Buffed it only to nerf it more or less back to what it was before the initial buff
@@deonte9014 unlikely the meta is heavy hull down corridor camp fest cent ax is still just med that will get penned anywhere if you have heat.
I haven't touched my AX in almost 3 years. 29% dispersion buff is HUGE. This thing will be able to snapshot now. The turret is still garbage but there's no reason to choose the Patton over this tank now with these changes. The DPM buff will also make this tank very competitive.
M48 patton needs a buff in my opinion and many other tech tree tanks
and premium one need nerfs not all cuz they are premium but some of them tier 8 are more powerful that tier X xD
This tank gets ammorack instantly but with this buff maybe the vert stab can be replaced to improved configuration. My fear is that again that overbuff and when people start to grind then WG will nerf it as usually they do.

They keep stacking up the dpm, and it keeps going higher and higher, especially with all this equipment that is being released. I swear the next medium that "needs" a dpm buff will get an even higher dpm, with the proper equipment of course.

I hope the Centurian AX gets the attention it deserves. I always thought it strange WG places a a tank in the game that lacks what it needs based on experience playing it. How can they not know?
And yet they still continue to nerf amx 65t bcoz its OVERPERFORMING Kappa
I am happy about the buff of CentAX... The FV4202 was my first tier 10 medium. And also the buff for the 7/1 is very right for me :)
I don't think we need more hull down monsters, unlikely it will be a super meta tank but it'll be much nicer to play. Also the gun handling buffs at least allow it to not use v-stab which opens up options for like vents or optics or hardening etc. Really a lot of the strong armoured stuff on tier 10, 279e, Chieftain, VZ, Bobject etc. needs toning down and then most of the meds would have an easier time competing as most of them are really out of the meta.
meh nobody complained when we had 4+ yrs of med meta from 2013~2017

@@octoslut except we didnt, that never happened, russian meds were good, that was about it. There was never a med meta, certainly nothing like the way heavies dominate now and are completely idiot proof.

also it was a med meta as armor sucked back then especially to heat and maps favored high camo tanks with good mobility aka meds

About time. The Action X should be a ridgeline warrior, but they made it into cannon-fodder...
I think the problem with buffing Cent AX is that you can buff it as much as you want. It is still a medium. Dont forget that this is World of heavy tanks and we can not have mediums contesting the heavies. We now have heavies with impenetrable turrets reach key positions faster than most mediums. The heavies now days can also match the DPM and usually outclasses the mediums in alpha. Every small patch includes small buffs to heavies, experimental equipment for example is something heavies will benefit most from. Moveable objects is something hulldown heavies will benefit most from. The argument that 430U is one of the better mediums because it gives your team an extra heavy is a perfect exampke of the problem. Mediums needs to get its own niche in the game back rather than beeing a shit heavy at tX, maps need to be built around being able to flank. Heavy mobility over the board needs to be removed and access to Turbo also removed.
Mediums should never have the crazy penetration they have. It's stupid they have 330-350 pen to butcher frontally even the most heavily armored tank. They should be at most at the level of the TVP with 310 with HEAT and 248-252 with standard and then have mediums with more mobility, the are support class vehicles, not brawlers. Light tanks fit well in this system having the lowest pen of the classes.
About time, the grind to this thing was hell and it was a let down, it’s about time they show it love
Absolute hell. The Centurion is the worst tier 8 tank in the game. One of the worst tanks in the game period.

I allways liked the cent and patton. I put equipment on them in such a way to basicly make them the same tank. :D
Problem is the journey to the Centurion AX is still painful.

The problem with the AX is not its mobility or firepower, those were both fine. I didn't have an issue with its turret either. The problem with the AX is the paper modules. It's like playing a tank with only 450 hp at tier 10. You cannot use your HP because you risk ammo racks and/or fire any time you take a hit.
Since you get vert stab for free now maybe you could try the expermimental hardening or modified configuration
Where will this leave the Patton? It now will get the same gun handling with better final dispersion, better mobility and better dpm.
Patton arguably have better armor. I guess it will be buffed next.
Dez, are you talking about the 105mm pen HESH round? As the 7/1 has HESH as a 210mm pen premium round, the Action X does not.
Centurion action X does have HESH, it is 105mm of penetration. This is the same round that the charioteer and the 7/1 have access to.
@@leosalonen1564 Yes, having watched the vid again, Dez does not mention the pen on the HESH round. So I believe you are correct & he is using the 105mm pen round.
Finally the AXE is getting sharpened! I wouldn't be opposed to buffing the turret. Remove those weaknesses on the cheeks of the turret front. Leave the weak spot under the gun and commanders hatch. That way skilled players have something to aim for when battling it hull down. I honestly never had an issue with the old gun. I played the Patton for gun handling and the AX for long range accuracy. But the buff is welcome. Still very angry about Progetto 😡
You remember, maybe, AMX M4, after BUFS we had BIG NERFS... So, the SAME will be with AX. We are not NAIVE, DIRTY WG.
Its turret and the Canarvon ax turret both need sizable buffs.

Tbh, they could give it HEAT protection on the turret like the S. Conq has. But it would not give it any protection against other rounds like Prem AP or APCR which would still go through it like nothing. That would make Cent unique among the mediums as a tank that has good protection against HEAT but Meh protection against AP and APCR.
Screens like the ones Caernarvon AX has?
@@Mojrzeszg It's still the same screen, being on the Conq or Caer AX doesn't really matter cause the same job is done. But yeah, and because Cent doesn't have good base armor on the turret, adding screens wouldn't do much except make it better against HEAT.
Iron Arni has better turret armor than this thing, no joke.

I'd you use the new hp equipment lvl3 the ammo rack is not a issue

1. Improve DPM
2. Improve dispersion

@@theBhavMan buffs are good, but I just wished they did something different to each tank make it a bit more unique
They did it to the Leopard 1. It had bad handling, trash armor and bad hidden stats. The improved the hidden stats and made the alpha 30 points higher. The armor is still trash but it snipes like a boss. That's what it means buffing the sigma of a tank, make it better and any tank will shine.
I was truly hoping they would buff the heck out of the Cent AX because I really enjoy playing the Cent 7/1, but I still think they need to buff the heck out of the armor to get it up to the recent meta of the game. When is the update going to be happening?
Most likely today/tomorrow is happening. Scared now if the tank becomes too popular, WG gave the excuse of the nerf to the Progetto based on 'popularity' and not in any gameplay parameter whatsoever.
It's a Good News for me after I heard they buffed this tank alongside 7/1... It's one of my favourite Tier X Tank alongside 121B. The armor is quite unreliable yes (I usually think It's an oversized Crom), but that gun is really good if the RNG treats me just about right so the gun buff will make it less derpy and more fun to snapshot.
Though one thing that I really want it to get buffed is the module, especially the Engine and Ammo Rack. cuz I feel like they broke a lot every time I got shot.

The action X needed some turret improvements. The tank was designed to be a meta, but because it is an "arcade" it has to have 5 weaknesses and 1 strong point. Which just makes the game a fight for balance, and that balance is no where to be seen.

My friend bought this tank when it came out. He told me to stay away from it so I did. I've got better tier X tanks to waste my credits on first.
And none of these nerfs over the years make any sense since there are soo many OP premium and clan tanks around.

All the AX needs armour wise is a heat shield like the tier 8 premium to hide the cheeks from heat shots, otherwise it's alright
Would be nice if it has weakness to AP but resistant against HEAT on those cheek.
British tanks are known for there dpm.
Badger got 4.8k dpm and with hesh got 6.2k dpm.
FV215b got 3.9k dpm and hesh 5k dpm.
Super Conqueror got 3.8k dpm and hesh 4.9k dpm.

I think a hull improvement is all it needs.
I would prefer only the mobility and gunhandling buffs. It will reward skill and still give other tanks fighting chance. Many of the weak points are not so much of a problem with enough mobility. Like some of the absolute paper tanks get away with it because of the mobility and gunhandling
So the next tank in line to get overbuffed, and then nerfed after 4 months as most of the players have "grinded" it with free xp, just like what happened with M4 54. What comes after this? 121 is my guess

buffing the turret would be a good way to change the meta on the competitive scene.
"The sides of the turret at 258 are very weak" describes the current meta with gold spam to the point.
Wish they would buff the turret armor a little too
honestly ive loved the Cent AX from the moment i got it, it was my second tier 10. These buffs are gonna hype the tank up some and hopefully have some bad players go for it and play it so the marking requirements go down lol (im at 87%)

@@chowder99100 LOL i feel u, and idk if u agree, but i think the cent might be one of the hardest tech tree 3 marks in the game, like ik that it doesn't have the highest 3 marking requirements but i have seen so many 55+% winrate players that have over 500 games in it and yet they're only on like 90% marks. 🤷♂
@@sppoopyirishsonny1104 yeah it is difficult, i agree and i feel like that’s mostly because of the tank itself, you’re supposed to use the gun the depression and turret but as soon as they load Heat the tank just becomes useless unless you’re tryin to snipe. They need to buff the turret along with the buffs they’re adding already
After the buff mark requirements won't go down, they will go up same as the amx for example. So you might as well 3 mark it now because it's not even hard.

btw. instead of using stabilizer go for improved configuration - ammorack problem is gone... plus repairs can be crazy fast :) or! go with survivarability improvement or how it is called (the new stuff) - fixes ammorack and adds some hp!

The CentAX could definitely use some love from wargaming, personally I'd have preferred a slightly more reliable turret over the DPM buff I think

Funny thing is this tank was buffed a few times before and it's still not enough. FV4202 was buffed like 3 times and it was still garbage. It was so bad that it was sent to tier 8 as premium and not it's just average. Iron Arnie literally does the same but with way better alpha and armor.
All centurions need a buff, but still furious about Progetto/Standard B nerfs to get excited.
2:15 why would you shoot any other ammo in any tier? Premium is just basic ammo beacause it's cheap.
my personally opinion about the grind to the AX is thats wasnt that pain. it was an average experience for me. okeish

If Cent AX is getting is buffed, than WG should also care about buffing BatChat 25t, and Patton i think. These are outdated mediums.
I hate the turret of the AX and the tumor top of that. 7/1 turret way better tier for tier
its ok to have mediocre tanks in the game, so i dont think it needed a buff. it was still fine. besides, its always better to nerf than buff, unfortunately that doesn't generate the same short term numbers that they would like (albeit it would obviously help the game in the long run). corporate gridlock unfortunately, we will probably never see a proper balancing scheme come into play.

"good players are going to enjoy..." is typically a sentence that states that the tank is actually fun and playable. Nobody wants something with no armor, dpm, or gun handling like the 30b or the old centurion. Same goes for Kpz 07 rh and Shptk tvp. They aren't broken, but they are fun and good players can take advantage of the tools given. I think the nerfs to the AMX Mle 54 are unnecessary as it finally competes with tanks like the chieftain in all formats, but now they they're rebalancing it to be useless again, it's one less useful tank anyone will be playing in competitive.
Soooo... they're turning the AX into a British Leopard.
If you're a fan of Leopard game play this will not be much of a jump at all.
