My name is Dayton and I'm an airsoft sniper from BC Canada. Ever since I started airsoft I've been addicted to the long range game. that's why I play as a sniper. I have some knowledge of CQB and urban play but if you see me out in the field, chances are I'm out there with my tokyo marui vsr10 and mk23.

I was at that field that day and didnt even realize you were there, should have realized what my team meant when they kept saying, "there's Canadian on the other team that is keeping us from pushing up"

I just started my sniping career in Airsoft and I decided to do a *very smart* thing and use the same BBs as my sidearm, which is .30g BBs. I live in Washington State, and for those that don't know, it is ALWAYS windy, unless I go into my sailboat. That's the only time there is no wind.
The thing I love about snipers is they usually have someone with them as a spoter so they basically have built in friends

I had a guy taunt me when I had my polarstar hk417 supressed he didn’t know where I was hiding but he knew I was hiding at the wind was really strong that day so anything after 150’ was a Hail Mary. I was under a low pine tree in a ghillie suit I waiting 5 minutes for this guy tho show any of his body. He then started to blind fire at my friends I got his hand

Get a decent gun to start out like g&g,cyma aks, krytac. Don't cheap out
Focus on face protection. I've been in it for a while and still want to get new eye protection
Pls buy good eye pro becuase you don't want fogging or not ansi rated goggles cause the will just ruin the experience
Actually, when it comes to first starting airsoft, you SHOULD cheap out on everything, *except* the eye and face protection. Get ballistic rated polycarbonate goggles (not mesh ones), also a mesh face mask that covers your ears as well (really nice because you can breath really well through it).
When it comes to your first airsoft gun, go cheap. Like cheap and reliable. No more than $200. Regardless of how tempting it is to burn some money on a high-end gas blowback (recoil) rifle that's as realistic as it gets... start with an AEG (Automatic Electric Gun) rifle. G&G Combat machine M4 platforms are a great way to get into the sport. It's a great starting platform and you can find one for about $150. Stay away from the officially licensed products (meaning they have a license from the real steel version manufacturer), as they most of the time are only looks and increase the price by a huge margin.
Your priority in the first few days / weeks of practicing airsoft should be to figure out whether you actually like playing it or just like watching videos featuring airsoft gameplay. You don't want to spend hundreds (thousands god forbid) on equipment and gear only to find out after 2-3 games that you don't actually enjoy playing airsoft.
Also, if by any chance you get to love airsoft and later want to taste a bit more realism, I'd highly recommend going for a gas blowback rifle (GBBR) to get, in my opinion, the full experience of this sport. It's considerably more expensive using and maintaining GBBRs (one aspect being the super-expensive low capacity gas mags, wayyyy more expensive than the AEG high capacity mags, for an obvious reason - one stores gas, the other doesn't), but the experience you get is TOTALLY worth it.
