😢I feel so bad for Kikoru! 💔 Her dad puts too much pressure on her. Kafka showing up for her at such a moment and congratulating her like he did, I know that meant a lot to her.

It's just tough love but I hear you, most times it's a double edged sword and pressure like that ends up having the opposite effect intended.
One thing I appreciated was that they changed Kikoru's reaction when she saw Kafka transform. In the original she took a demanding stance and asked if he had anything to do with all that before he begged her not to tell the others about the transformation, but here she was exhausted, which is a normal reaction after all that.
Ok yeah that sounds like a pretty good improvement from the Manga.

LOLOL You are the only one I've seen so far who remembered the Captain Planet catch phrase. That's the first thing that came to my mind too lol.
I haven't seen the manga and i am wondering about the flying worms that make humans into Kaijuu's aswell. Maybe the worm that went into kafka failed to take over his brain/body and it did work with this human. It's a bit like parasyte the maxim (great anime and can deffo recommend that if you haven't seen it).
And then there's always the question where do those flying worm things come from? Human made or is there some Kaiju making them? still enough intrique for the show to continue.

So to answer your question no, that worm thing is a larva and it’s ( so far) the only one of its kind. So it infected Kafka and gave its power to him thus Kafka is the man who became a kaiju
The mushroom head guy, better known as kaiju 9, is a kaiju who blends in to look like humans, and he is not nice
Also the larva has will of its own but it would rather not use any energy and just lets Kafka do all the work
